It's a movie, not a documentary, but when this movie is produced by surviving band members who portray themselves as the better actors, it has an odd flavor. Along the lines of, "Why does Freddie Mercury still get all the applause? " and we don't.
with all the scenes of everyone beating up on freddie, it feels moreso like brian and roger are beating on their dead friend for having so much of the spotlight. (obviously they aren’t like that, but i feel that it could negatively impact their names.) i will always defend the live aid scene for being a near perfect recreation of the concert as well as rami’s performance, but everything else in this movie was shit. the world’s biggest and influential singer deserved a better biopic than this.

Rami malek did an amazing job acting in this movie and so did the other cast members. This movie deserved the Oscar that it got. They don’t just give Oscar’s to anyone. Accurate? There are SO many innacuracies with the film.. The band never broke up, freddie was diagnosed with aids AFTER live aid (yet the movie made it seem like he did live aid for his own selfish actions) they never sold their van and Ray Foster wasn’t even a real person. There are many more inaccuracies, and it’s just a mildly homophobic movie. Some movies don’t deserve oscars. If you want an accurate biopic, watch rocketman or I Tonya, not this.

They gave him the teeth, but missed out his lovely dark eyes. It's always the minutest details that say the most...
