Part 2: • THE ORDER 1886 All Cut...
Sorry guys, we were having major uploading issues with Youtbe, we had to cut it into two parts. We will continue to do game movies in one video guys, don't worry, this is just a special case
The Order: 1886 is set in an alternate history London, where an old order of knights keep all of the world safe from half breed monsters, who are a combination of animal and man. You play as Gallahad, a dedicated knight who fully believes in the Order and will do anything to stop the half breeds.
The Good:
This game is a curious case of be careful what you wished for. There is a pocket of gaming fans of have complained about some game's lack of story. It is not simply enough to have great gameplay, but it is also important to have a driving narrative. Ready at Dawn set out to make a movie like experience, moreso than any other game you've played before. And in that aspect, at least, they succeeded with flying colors. The graphics are truly jaw dropping, and almost reach PC-level stardards. It is by far the prettiest game I've ever seen on consoles. The cutscenes blend seamlessly with gameplay, and at times it's hard to tell whether you're still in a cutscene or in a gameplay section (until you move the joystick of course). The steampunk alternative history Victorian era is excellent and rich with possibilities. Ready at Dawn is smart to use some historical figures here, but they could have used them more extensively. The story is great overall, although it starts a bit slow. It picks up a lot in the second half.
The Bad:
It's hard to call this a game when nearly half of the experience is watching cinematics. There is absolutely nothing new about this game in mechanics or gameplay. Of course, there doesn't have to be new mechanics in order for it to be a good game, but "The Order: 1886," is basically a cover-in-corridors shooter that is not nearly as good as other games in its same genre. There are far too many quick time events to create the illusion of interactivity. It's terrible when you're 5 minutes into a cutscenes, deeply comfortable in your chair, when all of a sudden a random QTE pops up that catches you off guard. You have the controller in your lap watching, when all of sudden you have to spring to action.
The conversation this past week has revolved around the length of the game. And there is no denying it, the game took a little over 6 hours to beat for us. But I think the main argument wasn't necessarily the time, but the fact that half of that short time you were going to be watching cutscenes or doing irrelevant QTE's. The other half you would be playing mediocre gameplay.
The Verdict:
All in all, I see what Ready at Dawn was trying to do. There have been cinematic games before, but this is by far the most cinematic game I've ever played. Nothing even comes close. But it just doesn't work as a full priced game. There are a lot of good ideas here on the cinematic front, and if they can expand on them and perhaps add a multiplayer, with more diverse gameplay, this could truly be a great game. It's definitely worth playing, just not at full price

This feels like the kind of story, and setting, that would have made an excellent comic book series, or novel work. Or even a TV show. Parts of it are so similar to Carnival Row.

The best place to go for video game movies. You guys dont just put in the cut scenes out of context but also add a bit of gameplay to connect them. Great vid as always.

Coming back at this on 2019.. Damn... Seriously, I think no other game ever released until now does even match this kind of graphical fidelity. I get we've had other releases that excel on certain tech improvements, like render distances, dynamic lighting n stuff, but i think most dont come close to this level of photorealism. Just look at the last CoD: Ghost game, shit looks 10 years behind this. If im mistaken, or you would like to just point out some actual contenders, I really would love to know

Exactly what Gustav said. I happily paid $10 for it but it definitely wasn't worth the launch price of $60. It had no replay value.

Audio is cutting in and out for me.
Tested the sound on my headphones, can say with certainty that it's the video with the audio problem.

This game was awesome!! Werewolves, vampires and knights of the round table. Doesn’t deserve all the hate people give it. People complain it’s too short but, the truth is it’s simply quality over quantity. I like how the developers got away from season passes and micro-transactions and just gave us a fun game that is incredibly unique.
It's gonna be a cult classic IMO.
People don't like it because the combat was shit. And they wanted to fight werewolves instead of shooting the same generic NPCs behind cover again and again. Rinse and repeat. Good concept, great graphics, awful combat, shit execution.

LOVE GLP, however this upload isn't to your usual quality! :( the sound cuts in and out at multiple points, I thought it was story related but its not bits of dialog are missed but the subtitles show it :(

This might be an unpopulated opinion but... am I the only one who actually kinda like this game? Sure it didn't really have the storyline wasn't too good and the game play was not that perfect but.. I feel like people are just nitpicking this game too much, I don't think it was really that bad.
I personally love it. The characters are really cool, Tesla? Really? Amazing... And Gallahad is a great hero. The music, the gameplay (a little bad), and the goddammit graphics and style are beautiful.

Even I don't mind the long ones for reasonable (upto approx. 2 hours 30 minutes (file being around 400MB for it); that being the limit of filesize I can download in the life-span of the temporary link); but when there are huge ones (like GTA V movie, Modern Warfare the Movie, Black Ops The Movie to name a few), part-wise upload might help.

Seeing as the gameplay is mediocre but the story and cutscenes are well done they should've just let Telltale games make this seeing as it would've been better off as a point n click moral decision style of game like Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us etc.

Finished watching part one! great job as always! my impression: Really cold and boring game! I mean there is no music in this game!!! so silent with boring British jokes! almost no gameplay! and it's so basic! it just has a great graphic! and overall nice story with a nice atmosphere but they failed to deliver it!
**Edit** after watching part two, the story got better more gameplay and made the game more interesting but still too short.
