Some people really dislike Harleys cause you do get a price tax for the name. However at least for the full touring bikes. Metric bikes usually don't look as good so glides I understand a price increase. Everything else though it's hard for many to justify. Ducati can be the same way though.
@@krtm530 The thing is, this bike almost rides like a naked too. The handling is phenomenal for its size/weight. I own a GSX-S 750 and a Suzuki Bandit 1250 but this Fat Bob brings me the most smiles to ride.
Did you know that if you get yourself an extra battery for your power wheelchair and a series parallel switch from a 24-volt start 12 volt charge 18 wheeler you can double the voltage on-the-fly at the Press of a button and run the other old school dudes clear off the sidewalk while pressing a remote control the lower the tailgate on a sidecar with all the controls that will operate a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and fastened to it. Seen this done by Vietnam vet whose legs were blown off serving our country .... this i saw while I attended the 1983 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. I am NOT a Harley guy, but this is a Harley that I would buy. I love the look and the exhaust sound. Doesn't have that potato..potato sound. Great job Harley!!
VRODS are really big in Australia I believe mostly because we don’t care who designed the engine because it’s not Aussie either way. I’m really sad to see it go.
Jamie Haggett well.. they are improving their “perfection” but the fans are just to sensible, original HDs weren’t like today’s ones.. they were more like today’s Royal Enfield, HD fans are just capricious.
Jamie Haggett 17000$ for 80hp and 300kg, and not even a tach is perfection? They might be heading in the right direction but they need to increase power to weight ratio.
This is the bike that made me start loving bikes, so....I’m sorry to whosoever that don’t love this bike, u can see innovation and intention was put into it. Thank you Harley Davidson
I worked at an H-D dealership at the time of the release and most people liked the bike enough. Yes, a lot would have preferred they did it a bit differently but it grew on people. The biggest complaint was the massive exhaust, not the light.
The headlight is absolutely awesome! That light, along with finally painting all the revolting chrome BLACK has actually made Harley's start to look good. With this bike and then the Sportster S, Harley is ditching the 'grandpa bikes from the 1950s look' finally. Like literally... until recently... all there bikes have looked 60 years old. It is like they froze in time. Imagine if everyone was still driving around bubbly 'spaceship' cars from the 1950s still with the wings and other crap... it is the same thing for Harley but with bikes. FINALLY they are modernizing and it looks amazing!
Own this bike and absolutely love it! I did install a slip on muffler and sounds sweet. Bike gets a lot of attention and people stop me to ask about it. Rides smooth and it’s great in corners.
@@torres7918 I have one. The ergonomics are quite versatile. It fits all sizes but just to be sure you should test ride one or at least sit on it. They are amazing bikes.
once my divorce papers are signed by the end of this year, I'm turning my 2019 honda rebel 500 for a new harley, is a toss up between this and the soft tail slim 2021
I love this bike, when I sit on it I just melt into the bike, it's so comfortable to me. My buddy has a 2010 model & he rides it very hard & has never had an issue with it. These are a blast to ride!
Do you have any regrets with it being your first bike? Like do you wish you would have gone smaller for your first one? I'm debating on getting one also as my first street bike.
Most the haters of anything new HD are the bagger crews. If it’s not gigantic, windscreaned, cup holders everywhere, etc ... its not liked The best thing for HD is to get beyond the HOG bagger gen.
Its like the baggers feel that if the bikes they wont buy anyway, become "less Harley" it will some how make their own bikes less Harley. so they kick and scream any time Harley plays with the formula and want the same shit from the 1960s, but it must have that infotainment system......
@@nicodemus7784 yes exactly!! I totally get different strokes for different folks but they act like everyone should drive the same bagger and then talk about how many miles they did today. I don't count miles! It's fun not a dick swinging contest.
@Loran Kowallis I have not had the luxury of the time to do a long distance multiday ride yet. but I have racked up many many miles in a day exploring unfamiliar areas or hunting for twisty mountain roads all over socal. I have nothing against a bike being comfortable and functional, but the stereotypical person who complains when Harley changes something is a 50-65 year old on their 2nd or 3rd bagger who wants to be able to buy the same bike until the day they die, these are not the people the V-rod, fatbob, and FXDR are meant for. that is ok, but that doesn't mean Harley should only make the same 5 bikes for eternity. HD is in trouble if they cant expand their market, and that means tapping into new riders who don't like the current catalog. 3 dollars a day huh, guess retail price has nothing to do with designing things to be easier, faster, or cheaper to manufacture then huh... Harley is not currently price competitive, period.
I have a 2018 FatBob with a stage 2 kit, high performance cam, Bassani 2 into 1 exhaust, and Chubby 1 bars with 10” risers. This bike hauls ass and takes names. Love the look and found a fairing specially built for the square headlight which I love. Oh being a shorter bike I hear a lot of this bike is only for short people. That’s is 100% b.s. I’m 6’1” and 275 and I’m more then comfortable on this bike. Plus I ride extremely hard and it handles everything I throw at it!!
I believe in 25 years when the "old school" guys have died off the nit picking will too and "tradition" will be served simply by virtue of it having a v twin still and it won't be much of an issue that it may be DOHC and make big power in the upper rpm range. Somewhat akin to the way an Indian Scout runs and produces power.
@@gregorytimmons4777 you're wrong the tradition will always be there but you are correct that the nit pickyness will die off because a lot of us younger riders are more open minded
I am a die hard Harley guy for almost 50 years.....and I say this bike has great potential to turn into a chopper/bobber......not that the engine is that great of a design....I will stick to my 93 FXDL
Robert Stimmel when he’s hate he means the old guys that think fuel injection and liquid cooling just isn’t Harley, but who cares I’ll buy like a bought a vrod
First, the thing to LOVE about the Fatbob isn't it's headlight, altho' it's cool. 2014 owner here with the dual headlight. But it's handling because of the beefed up suspension, 44mm tubes instead of 33mm, it's wider tires front and rear, dual front brakes and changed fork geometry for handling. Another thing, Harley specifically designed those tires for that bike, and they're great WHEN NEW, but... they get choppy with use and grab funny under heavy braking and hard turning. Check forums... most people don't replace them with the same rubber. Yeah, the headlight is cool, and the rear part of the seat comes off really easily to make it a solo, just move the hold down tab to the front part, but if you're really trying to sell this bike, it's handling is the right thing to push. Harley specifically tuned it for the bendies and it shows when ridden hard. I hit my primary cover leaning into a turn. Sorry to say, it didn't end well. Bike lifted and no control it went straight, but... that was my mistake. I've since added foot pegs with the lean indicators that spark when you lay it over to far. I did leave that scarred primary on it tho' For the baggers... baggers, baggers everywhere... baggers, baggers, I do not care...
The "old school" Harley guys can still get their brand new old school Harleys. It's nice to see that the new school guys/gals can get something a little bit different. My local dealer has a brand new 19 Fat Bob in the scorched orange color with all the orange add-on bits to match. It is a really striking bike to look at. Maybe I'll see if I can talk them into a test drive :-)
Just bought me a brand new 2022 fat bob and I love it! This is my 3rd Harley and I've honestly loved em all. A '97 wide glide 80 in. Evo, '04 electra glide classic 88 in twin cam (that I still have and ride often) and finally this fat bob. The 114 M8 is pretty impressive and a LOT of fun imo!
I absolutely love my 18 Fat Bob! Although I changed my headlight out for a single day maker so I could put a Road Warrior fairing on it, things looks super nice now!
This is one Harley rider who loves this bike. I bought a 2018 - 114 Fat Bob FXFBS. I dropped the mirrors below the handle bars. Oh and am now age 70 and still ride this bike everywhere.
That’s the best looking Harley!! Harley Davidson is doing the right thing for the company. The Old timers are dying off and that’s a good thing. A modern motorcycle needs to not leak oil or breakdown constantly so I welcome the new bikes new everything. The US needs to make bikes that are the same quality that Japan puts out! And now they are going for that same quality that’s awesome. We want to get on and ride and not have to worry about the machine breaking down. If you put money into your new bike it needs to be because you wanted to not because it broke down!! : )
@@hardtailsuicidaljockey6827 sorry Joe Blow! But i don't get the angle of your question? I meant that fun can be had on any kind of motorcycle, and not being limited to just one brand.
@@hardtailsuicidaljockey6827... i love all bikes and every manufacturer has it's expertise in certain areas. Cruiser's, Harley or Indian all the way! I love the spring time of the year. I saw a guy with his top down. My guess, he has the heater on. We would do that up in northern Maine back in the early and mid sixties. We all had rag-tops it seemed. Ran them until end of October and covered them using a clunker for the winter. I had a '51 Ford Flathead V-8 2-door business coupe for the winter. It had a little round radio dial. The car was so dependable. I was on my way into school from New Limerick to Houlton one day and felt a little bump. I looked out in the field on my left side and saw a tire and wheel bouncing over the snow and dirt field. I got to school and noticed I was missing my left rear wheel. Stupid me. The car drove on 3 just fine. Once me and my buddy, Pig McNutt took our history student teacher, Miss Dumas, with us. She bought the beers. I was the passenger and her teeth were so white. And she was gorgeous. It was so much fun. We thought we were hot shits. She told us to call her Judy, but we refused. Those days were different and much more fun. We would never kiss and tell, unlike the wimps of today. (I had that axel pressed back on by then) Anyway, Pig and I went up to the "flying saucer" (it was an antenna on top of the hill.) Somehow we both passed out and woke up the next morning in time for class. That car had some major floor board rust issues. How we survived without dying from CO2 poisoning is still a question. God was with us that night. It was in the winter and possible a breeze up there. Great memory's for sure.
Yeah, the headlight is cool. I think Harley people hate it because it's not traditional, but I think it looks good. The one feature I don't like is the license plate hanging way out on the left side. It would look better if it were mounted under the rear of the fender. Otherwise I'd love to have one.
After daily riding a 2019 Fat Bob 107 for 18 months now, rain or shine, some of my take away: -Harley Purists hate it, because of the light. But that light has a 100% perfect throw and I can see everything at night. Curves, straight, ambient; you see everything. -It is 80% of a middle weight sport bike, with a cruiser riding position. Twisties are a great time, but also riding to get to them in excess of 200 miles is also fun and not tiring. -What's not so fun is filling up every 130ish miles because of the 3.3 gallon tank. It wouldn't have changed the look to add another gallon in there. -The stock tires aren't the smoothest riding, but they are fine for warm, dry weather. Cooler or wet roads, you'll want to get a different set like the Bridgestone Exedra Max's - The 107 is great and has plenty of power, but if I had to do it over, I would have got the 114. Not for the engine but for the ABS that didn't come on the 107's. Harley brainstorming at its finest. -Overall, comfort, drivability, maintenance and pleasure all make it a great daily rider. You have slightly less comforts than a Street Glide, but more enjoyability off the straight and narrow Purists may hate it and the new designs Harley is coming out with, but those 'core' customers aren't paying the bills after purchasing 1 bike every 10-15 years. This bike is the ONLY reason I walked into a Harley Dealer, and would be the only reason I would return should something happen to mine. Gut tells me if Harley wants to survive they'll need more like me to fill in that large time gap.
Sean i think i speak for everyone please brother next time you speak about other bikes in a video when your comparing one bike to another show pictures of the bikes your talking about please your words of wisdom speaks volumes about your faith from a fellow brother in christ god bless you and your family
I dig it and I used to be a Harley hater until I started working on them and realized that they are incredibly well made. I hope Harley Davidson continues to try to innovate and get back some lost market share.
I actually like that headlight, the fatter tires, and those drag bars. I think this is a great looking bike. The only issue I have is with the bikes that have the speedo in the tank. When I wear my full face helmet, I'm forced to tilt my head downward to see it. But that wouldn't stop me from buying this bike. Especially with that 114 engine. Super great power plant.

I just got one. They are terrific bikes. Over the eyars ive owned Harleys, triumphs, sport bikes and the new Fat Bob is my favorite bike ive ever ridden.
@@karlmcnichols6125 not sure, haven’t gotten to ride the new sportster. But the fat Bob has a larger engine with a lower rev range, so it has very good torque, but it’s also roughly 100 lbs heavier than the sportster. With the 1200 on the sportster and a higher rev range, it produces more hp and has a little less torque than the fat Bob, but because it’s lighter, the ratio would almost feel the same I would think. That’s all I can give ya haha if you like the looks of the fat Bob, then go with it because there isn’t much for a wide variety of customization unless you’re willing to chop and fabricate some stuff, the most I’ve done is buy the club style headlight from Original Garage and changed the exhaust to a Bassani Road Rage III 2-in-1, and I have had a stage 1 upgrade done to it.
@@karlmcnichols6125 but try to test ride both if you can and feel for yourself. I will say the fat Bob does this weird thing in turns where it almost wants to stand up on itself if you aren’t in the right angle haha idk if it’s because of the large front tire or what. Also, my personal opinion, I’ve always liked the look of the 2008 HD Crossbones, and I like to think the fat Bob is a direct descendant of it, minus the springer fork of course.
The Fat Bob is a beautiful bike. I find it interesting you mention the rear brake control because mine was adjusted far to low. I had to slide up balls to the tank to try and brake properly. I adjusted the pedal higher only to have to readjust it downward when I put on the mid-foot controls. Aside from some Vance and Hines slip ons and computer controls the bike is awesome.
I owned an earlier Fat Bob which out handled all the other Harley Davidsons....most of which I’ve owned or ridden. This latest model looks awesome and I’ll bet it still out handles the other HD’s.
If you love the sportster and just want more power this is the bike for you. In 2019 i rode the entire HD lineup during a showcasing and this is the only bike that got me excited. Went from my Nightster to this and wont look back. Its everything I loved about my sportster dialed up to 11 and that I can keep for life.

Beautiful bike but I could never justify spending 16-19k for this bike when I can buy a brand new 600cc or 1000cc sport bike for 10-12k that has more reliability and performance.
Sportbike is a *totally* different animal. Different riding position, higher revving, but generally corners/handles better than cruisers and standards. Kinda hard to get saddlebags on some models. Worst decision I ever made was impulsively getting into a new Suzuki 600 Katana (mostly because the price was covered by my insurance payout) after an accident with my 97 Valkyrie - lost ~$2500 trying to sell it after ONE YEAR. I just wanted to get back on 2 wheels soonest and didn't put enough thought or research into it. Very uncomfortable riding position for me, altho I would absolutely love to have a Triumph Trophy as a 2nd bike. Went back to cruisers; but long-term would like to get into a Gold Wing 1800 or Valk 1800 (upgrades!) in the next few years.
Im not a huge fan of really any harley made after 1986, at the newest 1998/9, but i think the fat bob is pretty dope. If I was to buy a new harley itd probably be this or the FXDR

Don’t like the headlight. Don’t like the location or the looks of the speedometer. Don’t like the mirrors. Needs more HP and torque for the engine size. It’s overpriced. But other than that I like it. 😊
@vontastic well, any engine really. not sure why its so hard to understand that torque is a actual measurement and horsepower is just a mathematical number created by multiplying torque by the RPM and dividing by a constant. horsepower as a stand alone number doesn't mean shit, looking at the power curve can at least give an experienced person an idea of how a motor may act in the real world.
@friendlyAndy weight is a consideration yes, the fatbob is around 670 lbs if memory serves. but no one is claiming the fatbob to be a track bike either. there are times when a heavier bike is desirable. and the power to weight and gearing come in as well. a 450 lb bike with an engine that has 50ftlb of torque and 90 hp can be quick. but so can a 700lb bike with 104ftlb of torque and 85hp. it depends on what you want the bike to do and how you want it to perform. I describe the fatbob as a super comfy sport naked. when you have that much torque, it moves the bike effortlessly. the difference is that the power band is short so it tops out 120-130mph. if raw speed is your only requirement, then you are not looking at the right bike for you. I was quite shocked by how much I enjoyed riding the fatbob, I enjoyed it the same amount as riding the MT-10. which amplified the main pain point, price. think of it like the difference between driving a v4 vs a v8

Here in Germany it's the same thing. I like the VROD a lot
Harley Davidson fans be wanting to make the same bike for 200 years
capitán_ camote_picante why change perfection
Jamie Haggett
well.. they are improving their “perfection” but the fans are just to sensible, original HDs weren’t like today’s ones.. they were more like today’s Royal Enfield, HD fans are just capricious.
Jk bro I like most of the stuff they are doing
Jamie Haggett 17000$ for 80hp and 300kg, and not even a tach is perfection? They might be heading in the right direction but they need to increase power to weight ratio.
Love my only HD, a beautiful black ‘14 NightRod. All my other bikes have been Japanese or British. Keep it up Harley!
It is one of the first Harley's that I have ever liked the look of.
*Harleys
I got the 2018. I get so many "is that a harley?" Its so much fun man.

Own this bike and absolutely love it! I did install a slip on muffler and sounds sweet. Bike gets a lot of attention and people stop me to ask about it. Rides smooth and it’s great in corners.

Do you have any regrets with it being your first bike? Like do you wish you would have gone smaller for your first one? I'm debating on getting one also as my first street bike.
Most the haters of anything new HD are the bagger crews. If it’s not gigantic, windscreaned, cup holders everywhere, etc ... its not liked
The best thing for HD is to get beyond the HOG bagger gen.
word. they need to control price and market for a wider audience.
You absolutely nailed it!! Why don't they just buy a convertible. I'm 47 and have no interest in cup holders.
Hey man, I have the 2018 Breakout with Bassani 2 into 1...which cam did you go with?
This is one of my favorite bikes I love the LED in the front and the over all look of the bike.
Harley guys hate all the actual GOOD harleys like the FatBob and the night Rod/Vrod

@@Iniquityslasher awesome bike! That is the other Harley that I would buy
I loved my V-Rod Night Rod Special, this is the closest thing out there from Harley.. But it isn't 125hp...
Yes sir I love my V Rod Muscle 💪🏾
Can't understand why the V Rod was so... disliked
You throw a woods cam in the 114 and it will make 120HP and 130 TQ

@@AussieChad You think a very heavy cruiser with an 1800+cc engine is for teenage girls? ... right...
Just bought one today....they are so fun.
How many miles on it now?
This is one Harley rider who loves this bike. I bought a 2018 - 114 Fat Bob FXFBS. I dropped the mirrors below the handle bars. Oh and am now age 70 and still ride this bike everywhere.
I like the skill scale.
Also, I've learned, If you like the bike, who cares what others think, just go have fun!
So true...
I love this bike. Thanks brother and God bless you.
When I see this new style Fat Bob I think Mad Max. I love the look. Sweet!!
That bike looks mean! And btw, if you only like one brand of bike, you're seriously limiting the fun you can have.
Most indeedy !!!!!!
Daniel Cruz ? Why a bike is a bike
@@hardtailsuicidaljockey6827 sorry Joe Blow! But i don't get the angle of your question? I meant that fun can be had on any kind of motorcycle, and not being limited to just one brand.
Daniel Cruz oh I thought you meant every bike is different and just meant they all ride the same ......
@@hardtailsuicidaljockey6827... i love all bikes and every manufacturer has it's expertise in certain areas. Cruiser's, Harley or Indian all the way! Dirt bikes Yamaha, Naked bikes, all the Japanese monster brands... that's why i could never be true to just one brand, but unfortunately there are too many close minded riders out there.
After daily riding a 2019 Fat Bob 107 for 18 months now, rain or shine, some of my take away:
-Harley Purists hate it, because of the light.
Cooler or wet roads, you'll want to get a different set like the Bridgestone Exedra Max's
- The 107 is great and has plenty of power, but if I had to do it over, I would have got the 114. Not for the engine but for the ABS that didn't come on the 107's. Harley brainstorming at its finest.
-Overall, comfort, drivability, maintenance and pleasure all make it a great daily rider. You have slightly less comforts than a Street Glide, but more enjoyability off the straight and narrow
Purists may hate it and the new designs Harley is coming out with, but those 'core' customers aren't paying the bills after purchasing 1 bike every 10-15 years.
Thaddeus Carroll God. Not god. Bless day brother.
I dig it and I used to be a Harley hater until I started working on them and realized that they are incredibly well made. I hope Harley Davidson continues to try to innovate and get back some lost market share.
Cost way to much- 19k to start, for 86hp and shit suspension/brakes ? No thanks !!!
Horse power doesn’t mean anything to Harley’s. Ride one. I know you haven’t.
@@theerickstone Yeah but that's what *he* likes, and it's his comment, about his opinion.
Its all about the low end torque bud.
I rode one. The torque down low is awesome. And the suspension and brakes are probably the best of any HD. But still too expensive...

This is my first bike, bought it a couple weeks ago and damn is easy and fun to ride😍
Only own a KLR , I'm liking this bike is there any difference between it and the new sportster

No HD fan but this one is so cool 🤟
The Fat Bob is a beautiful bike. I find it interesting you mention the rear brake control because mine was adjusted far to low. I had to slide up balls to the tank to try and brake properly. I adjusted the pedal higher only to have to readjust it downward when I put on the mid-foot controls. Aside from some Vance and Hines slip ons and computer controls the bike is awesome.
I absolutely love that headlight is my favorite thing in that bike. Awesome looking bike. But I still like the Indian scout Bobber more
I owned an earlier Fat Bob which out handled all the other Harley Davidsons....most of which I’ve owned or ridden. This latest model looks awesome and I’ll bet it still out handles the other HD’s.

Now Harley is introducing a electric bike with no chrome, no noise and no clutch starting at $30.000 another bigger fail from Harley specially at that price tag.

Kawasaki (15 percent)
Victory (17 percent)
Harley-Davidson (26 percent)
Triumph (29 percent)
Ducati (33 percent)
BMW (40 percent)
Are they the best out there, surveys say no, but they are far from the worst out there. Matter of fact, the only thing that knocks them lower on any list is the pricing. I will agree with that, but they are the top selling bike brand in NA with double the sales of the next (Honda), even with declining sales. I'm not a blind HD fanboy either. I don't know where you get you're info. I have this bike in the 107 version. I ride in a club full of old school Harley guys (boozefighters) they all love it. Also it doesn't seem like you did much research on the bike. The tank isn't just "narrower" it's a gallon and a half smaller than it used to be. That's important info for guys that do long distance riding. I came from a crotch rocket before this (z1000) and I love this bike. I haven't met anyone who doesn't especially after they ride it.
Went to a Harley event last summer where I could try multiple new harley models. Tried this one and its a awesome bike , feels alot lighter than it really is !

I like that Harley!
And that head light makes it different from other Harleys.
Outside the Sportsters, this is the only Harly in the lineup that is interesting. As always the Words of Wisdom are very much appreciated.
Beautiful bike but I could never justify spending 16-19k for this bike when I can buy a brand new 600cc or 1000cc sport bike for 10-12k that has more reliability and performance.
True and true

Afrobe Fcuk u Bryant that’s what I was about to say!
No one cares
Jon's Moto Garage I’ll ride safe til I see you then I’m riding straight into you yelling 2018 ya dingus
That is a badass bike! If I ever were to buy a road bike again, I would be much more interested in buying this, than one of the old school models. Very cool!
Damn! He said my Rocker is one of the most hated bikes! I love it!
Good looking bike, headlight included. Now the bar mounted signal lights...not so much.
Great channel man love the content. Just wanted to let you know you earned my subscription today not only because of that but also because if the Bible verse before your ride! I love it man keep up the good work!!
Don’t like the headlight. Don’t like the location or the looks of the speedometer. Don’t like the mirrors. Needs more HP and torque for the engine size. It’s overpriced. But other than that I like it. 😊
that is the size of a cars engine and it still only produces 86 hp lol
but over 100ftlbs of torque...….
Some people don't understand motorcycle engines
@vontastic well, any engine really. not sure why its so hard to understand that torque is a actual measurement and horsepower is just a mathematical number created by multiplying torque by the RPM and dividing by a constant. horsepower as a stand alone number doesn't mean shit, looking at the power curve can at least give an experienced person an idea of how a motor may act in the real world.
@@nicodemus7784 Dont forget the second part of the equation weight.
Somehow I doubt this thing is under 500 pounds.
That thing is slick!! That worked it's way into my list of wanted bikes
, This bike sells in my state can't keep them on the showroom floor. You don't like the light there are kits to put a different light on it!
