No thanks, you're getting close to half the price of a true coil fork and you're basically destroying the sealing surface of the inside of your air fork. Just sell your air fork and get a coil that's designed to be a coil sprung fork. Also doesn't anyone make progressive wound springs?

Sounds like a great idea for enduro/gravity riding... not so much for basic trail riding. So, I don't think I'll add it to my current short/mid travel 29er... But if I buy that long-travel bike i've got my eye on then I'd definitely consider it (or perhaps the similar Vorsprung kit).

I just installed it... amazing! Small bumps are non existent with zero hopping, jumps and drops are like butter!!! You will not be disappointed. Just do it!!! Feeling way more confident on the trail is worth the price!!!
I was running from 2 to 4 tokens on rockshox 160mm air and never could get it dailed in. Now i just ride!!! Set the rebound and air to your liking, and never look back! It doesn't matter what altitude im at, cold or hot!

What's the mid stroke support like compared to the normal debonair air spring? Do you have a lot of fork dive when breaking hard or pushing into corners ?

Thanks mate for this comment. Helped me a lot, if I buy new foek or not. Just got my new enduro bike and I was chocked that the front fork was with coil. Stupid as I was, I was looking after the air intake for the fork to adjust the air, almost all night and then relize that the the fork was coil one 🤣.

I just installed this kit on my 2018 trek remedy. It definitely improved the feel of my Lyrik. It's been raining so I haven't had to much time to fine tune it. The first thing I noticed bouncing around in the driveway was how much less stiction there is. I had to show down my rebound. It's definitely smoothed out the low speed bumps. I will say based on the few reviews out there, I had extremely high expectations. While this kit didn't meet all of them, I'm happy with the purchase. The support from Push is amazing.

It seems all suspension goes in circular stages. So air will come back in a couple years. And coils will be back in a couple years after that. I totally would consider getting one of these because I have a coil in my boxxer and I really like how supple it feels. On the current fork I have, it is a RS Lyrik which has the basic solo air spring and I want to have more suppleness in that fork. I honestly love the way coils feel in forks because I really like having a linear feel in the fork. Although I will probably dive through my travel constantly, I'm willing to trade that for suppleness.

Anxious to try both of the competing units that are out now. Jeff: from my understanding, you *potentially can* go back to your OEM air spring unit - as you said the coil can mar the interior of the fork tube which would compromise the seal, possibly, but I believe there is a solid chance of being able to go back and fork if desired. I'm sure Push won't come out and say its reversible, but...I think its fairly possible. Couldn't you also wrap the coil in heat-shrink tubing to keep it from banging-up the interior?

And we go full circle, marzocchi’s where basically exactly this arrangement albeit the oil compressed the air space. That being said added air pressure didn’t feel great but instead of adding air you just topped up the oil to get more progression. I wouldn’t be surprised if we go the whole way round back to that layout (but with less weight and more mid stroke work on the damper) I’ll never sell my 66rc2x or the old school coil sprung rig it’s bolted too.

It's more than just suppleness. A coil shock does a better job of keeping the tire in contact with the surface. As you stated it's more linear therefore it is more consistent one of the drawbacks with an air shock is that it becomes inconsistent and its ability to react quickly and consistently. Coil shocks are making you come back because coil shocks are being manufactured with better quality. Perhaps with the exception of Öhlins and Fox which have always been Top Line coil shocks. Air shocks will never be able to mimic a coil shock in the foreseeable future. All one has to do is look to the mxgp, MotoGP and roll Superbike teams who are using coil shocks. If air shocks were Superior than you would see all the top major motorcycle sport teams utilizing them. 👌

@Aditya Wardhana so should mtbs have steering stabilizers too because moto uses it? They are two different sports so your argument really has no marret here and I can also tell you don't ride air suspension because its so advanced its hard pressed to tell the difference.

    • @geekane9462
      @geekane9462 4 роки тому

I totally agree. Coil will always be superior in terms of keeping the tire planted. Air suspension has to work through a series of valves to control the speed, thus the suspension action. But of course coil has the weight penalty. It just depends on what you’re after. This product seems to do a fabulous job of combining the best of both worlds.

They express they get the supple feel during the majority of their ride while getting the dampening control during jumps, drops and rock gardens. I'm not the rider to compare what's better, but dollar management might suggest the MRP wins for the average rider. I'm on the older side and I fight a couple of arm issues while riding. Depending on the terrain and/or often I ride, I can fight both Arm Pump and Shoulder Impingement Syndrome . My bike setup is good, and I don't ride heavy handed, it's more do with other sports causing shoulder and elbow injuries of the past. Doing physical therapy type exercises has helped alleviate most of injuries. Any thoughts on the therapeutic aspect of ramp control, making the overall ride softer and easier on the body?

Does Push have any plans for an xc version like 32SC or SID? Ti spring would also bring weight down

After the install, can the spring be replaced just incase i lose or gain weight? 😊

I read an article saying some guys at rockshox run pretty low psi for a more supple top end and install more tokens (4 or 5) for support and progression. Would that not give a similar feel?

No sir. This replaces the air spring, not the damper. The Damper on RS and Fox forks are in the right leg. Right leg contains damper, left leg contains air spring which is what this replaces. Feel free to email or call us if you want to chat more about it :)

Why don’t these companies add a plastic (or comparable textile) in the fork leg so it doesnt scratch inside of the stanchion...and therefore can revert back to air.

I have a 2016 fox 36 160mm fox fork. it started loosing psi after every ride. I went to do a lower leg service on it , ordered a newer 2018+ fox 36 air shaft assembly along with a seal kit, I found out I could not install the newer style air shaft I researched wrong. I may order this kit if my fork still looses psi even after I cleaned it , new dust wipers seals and fluids and cleaned the crap outta the stock air shaft. where does someone buy parts for older fox forks? how do shops rebuild them? I can't find anything on the internet for any fork older than 2018. what would I do what else can I buy if I need to replace my airshaft
