I really love the black lightning. It almost looks alive, the way it sorta flows when you bio-leech a person, or drain electricity. And for those of you who say it's unrealistic, have you ever activated the Ray sphere twice? (or like once and a quarter...) if not, how the hell do you know it doesn't look like that?
Problem with obtaining black lightning is that you are permanetly Infamous. You can't switch back to Hero, and having black lightning with a blue aura would be cool.
Well you know you choose to activate the Ray sphere again and possibly kill more lives to have more powerful, that's definitely a good reason why you can't turn into a hero
I was always infamous because when I was a kid I thought being good was exhausting so I became evil. But I remember the graphics being much more smoother and better

Should have keep Black lighting for inFamous 2 instead of the orange one. You can choose to start inFamous2 with evil Karma but it looks like even tho you continue the story with the evil Karma, the evil endging of inFAMOUS 1 was not considered at all. Thats why he never got the Black Lighting.
and if you look close as you upgrade your powers through the game his electricity gets more active and defined, showing up more. lol when he kicks a civvy with his black lightning they get engulfed in a black haze
The black, red color of the evil karma electricity is much better than the Orange, white. It shows a terrifying and monstrous representation of raw, pure malice of dark energy that courses through evil Cole. Leaving chaos in its wake.
They should make an alternate game series where it's this, but your forced to go evil or something to have these cool powers. I mean, they wanted people to go evil, but since they choose good more, the other storyline happened.

It will spread throughout the water. So if there's an enemy standing in the water you can just blast the water close to him and it will hurt him. Also, if you walk into a puddle, it leeches electricity out of your feet and can damage people, I've accidentally killed injured civilians that way.
i read a rumour saying that Cole IS the beast if the player completes the game with bad karma this happens so instead of kesslers idea of cole become the hero to stand up to it he becomes it if the players has good karma he becomes kesslers idea of the hero
I love the black lightning. But I got it after beating the game on normal with hero rank, then I instantly got the black lightning after I played the game a second time, and decided to use the ray sphere to boost my powers. Pretty good trade off, as I also got 1k exp and some more battery cores
To obtain black lightning, all u need to do is completely get ur rank up to infamous. Once u do that, u Ned to get the bar completely full. Ull get the achievement for having full evil and then u will get this
it'd be really good if you've made the ray sphere choice as hero and then had white light instead of blue or red (or red and black) with the title inFAMOUS just like how it is in the cover of the game

Unfortunately, no. When you're evil, you activate the Ray Sphere, and you absorb its power. When your good, you try to destroy it, so it wouldn't make sense if you absorbed its power, as well.
good= better lightning strikes that really do damage on an individual and gives you a bit of health and energy when leveled to the max but the skills not so good the bombs do the handcuffs and the others make them float bad= less damage on an individual but skills... more distructive and badass headshots with the lightning attack will make them explode when leveled 2 the max plus u cn absorb the life of people which gives you full health and energy bars overall bad is d best if u lyk kabooms
no just activate the ray sphere on the second to last mission. he will have to choose destroying and activating it. be warned that if you activate it while hero you can never go back and you lose all your abilitys

I wish they'd port this game to PC or something. Being a console exclusive just contains your player base and not everyone has access to a PlayStation 3 or 4. This game came out in 2009 so it'd run flawlessly on even the oldest computers.
they were ssuposed to add yellow lighting if you activated it while hero and yellow lighting if you destoryed the ray sphere but they dropped the idea so they stayed with this: hero: activate: black lighting, lose all abiltys hero:destroy: nothing your fucked :D infamous: destroy: nothing but you go up a bit in karma infamous: activate: you get black lighting, keep all abiltys, and fixed at infamous foever. samev with hero activate

I continued playing after my first playthrough, i changed from hero to infamous while getting all the blast shards, but I never got black electricity, now I realize you have to activate the Ray Sphere instead of destroying it.
@zemnasdarkness It will be interesting to see how they carry over the story from the original game into inFamous 2. If you check out the wiki it says that inFamous 2 starts off with the creature Kessler told about attacking Empire City, Cole and Zeke go looking for answers from the first sons. But who knows man, that would be a cool twist though. :P

the black lighting in the first infamous is better than infamous 2's orange lightning
Grizz its not black because in the first game the second ray sphere made you stronger. but in the the second one it was followed up by the good ending
