Notice that Kessler's lightning is white(Neutral). Which must mean he would have had to of mastered both good and evil powers, making Kessler the most powerful conduit that had ever lived.
But Kessler never wanted to kill Cole. He wanted to make him strong and numb to feelings (like killing Trish and tricking Zeke), so he would be able to defeat the Beast without getting emotional of the consequences.
The Wanderer remember that in one part Kessler had a picture of his wife and his friend zeke and Cole said that Kessler wanted him to convince him to thinking hed the same person so Kessler is Cole but just in time or an alternate self
Mysterious Greg Well i guess you're not gonna find out if you dont want spoilers. Well im gonna say anyway. Kessler is Cole yes, but its just in a later day when the first sons activated the Ray Sphere when Kessler got his powers. Kessler just went back in time to "Accelerate" the Ray Spheres development to give Cole his powers in a time before Kessler got his
"I've always been there Cole, every step of your life" Honestly the first time I heard this I thought it was just generic villain dialogue but when you find out the truth you go back and realise how good the foreshadowing is, like with Sasha saying "you don't know yet do you, how could you?"
Notice that when Kessler fires his electricity, it glows like the evil karma powers before it is dispersed as white which means future Cole had mastered both the evil and good karma powers. He only lost because he wasn't trying to kill past Cole, he was just trying to make him stronger so he could defeat the beast in the future
@DevilRebellion Also, if you've noticed Kessler fights differently than Cole, probably due to age. His power might have increased, but age has slowed him down. His attacks are more destructive, yet more precise and concentrated. Not to mention the gear he's got on him.
This is up there with one of my favorite boss fights in a video game. Also just love their final fight takes place at where it all began, at the blast site.
OH SHOOT! i thought of a awesome dlc for this game. its where u play as kessler go thru all of the stuff he did and so it makes more sense to those who didnt understand the story!!!
wow ironic,a great game working AMAZING kaos to get an emotional ending, great game in every way, leaves u wanting the 2nd BAD,im sooo gonna watch all of the 2nd game!
it's a power you get when doing evil side missions. the more of them you do, the more powerfull it becomes. theres also a good power you can gain by doing good side missions
@xNfs4masterSx That depends, the evil powers are all about widespread destruction, like the gigawatt hammer and grenades having smaller explosions. However, the goodside powers are more defensive and oriented towards single opponents, the good grenade when maxxed out can take out a First Sons mook in one hit on normal and immediately restrain him I believe, and any near him will lose a lot of health. Not to mention aiming one grenade over a wall is less painful than multiple ones if you miss.
You know, you'd think since Kessler is Cole from the future, he developed all those cool powers that Cole doesn't have as he got older, right? If so, shouldn't Cole have learned all those cool powers for InFamous 2? Like the: -Instant Teleportation -Charged Electricity Beam -Earthquake -Create energy-based multiples of yourself Those powers are awesome! If Kessler learned it, shouldn't Cole have been able to? Ah well. Maybe if there's an InFamous 3, we can learn those.
this games tear me apart, i cant aever ddecide if i wanna e evil or good, so i do i good story first and im all happy cause im getting praised, then i do evil and im all sad cause every hates me
I think when kessler went back in time it created a parallel universe and the beast is just a version of you that took the bad "infamous" road. if u look at its bald head and eyes its basically the same person, and seems to have the same powers as evil cole
@DevilRebellion I have to say those are advanced techniques. Kessler has had powers far longer than Cole has. And I wouldn't be surprised is he learned new ones after that "one-way trip". John White did say that Kessler would disappear for periods of time. Who knows what he did then?
No Karmic Overload is for both good and evil. To get it you have to achieve a rank or Hero or Infamous, then the power is available. To use it, you have full good or evil karma, and it grants you infinite electricity for a short period of time. The Hero exclusive power is Overload Burst, and the Infamous exclusive power is Arc Lightning.
what! i dont remember kessler mentioning coles mother to him in this level whoa! this is going to be some trilogy i cant wait to the 3rd installment when they finally peace it all together
@flutonic It gives you more energy to use and it changes your bolts to the color you see. It makes sense as the first time it went off in a heavily crowded area. The second time it didn't fully go off and there were much fewer people nearby.
Definitely. Also, the beast looks a lot like Cole himself. It might be due to the interaction between him and the sphere in the beginning. Whatever it is, it demolished the shit out of John, poor guy.
This is the only boss out of three they give a health bar, because he's the only one that needed one. lol ...am I the only one who thinks he does a little dance gig before he does the whole "repeated teleport-to wind wave in your face" attack? lol, if you're evil, you actually give Sasha the time of day.
Good job! I beat Kessler the first time on normal lol though, I did it the hard way. I dodged everywhere and shot him with bolts instead of the hammer blasts while he was down.
I have a theory about inFamous 3. In inFamous 2, Cole followed the good ending that was present in inFamous 1 and the 3rd would follow the bad ending in inFamous 1.
The only thing that I don't understand with this game was not being able to kill the TV Hacker personally. Bad Karma Cole probably would have enjoyed that. Hell, I would have killed him with Good Karma Cole.
I like InFamous 2 more, but fighting against The Beast/Nix, wasn't nearly as cool as fighting against Kessler! Maybe cause of the music and how he seems to know everything about you (oh wait)...
@AxelX919 mostly because those who are "Evil" believe in the "might make right" matra and so will do anything for power and are very likely not to care about the damage they'll cause so those powers are very likely going to be destructive, Good guys may have the weaker end of the stick but the point of it is not how powerful they are but how they use that power like the saying goes "It's not how big it is, But how you use it" LOL.
Kessler:"I've always been there, Cole. Every step of your life." Kessler sounded like he was stalking Cole. " When you got your first hair cut I was there." And when you first met Zeke I was across the street giving him the finger."
@joshonatir09 No, the ending that happens right after is the first part, the ending determined by your alignment happens afterwards using the ingame engine.
@TheCFW I own both and I think each game has it's Pros and Cons, some are done better in one than the other. I much prefer Prototype's movement system, running up walls is awesome sure, but Alex Mercer doesn't stubbornly keep gravitating towards and sticking to just about anything he can perch himself on while getting shot at, where quick movement is key to survival. In inFamous, I've died many more times due to not being able to simply drop off a ledge than not thinking an approach through.
When you activate the ray sphere, your lightning goes from red to black. That's awesome. But when you do activate the ray sphere, your karma wheel on the top-left part of the screen almost goes completely black. Why? Is it because you can't go back to being good after that?
To answer your question English, he feels that Cole must bare his sins is how I see it, if he just kills the monster then Cole would have not learn to use his powers responsibly or like Darth Vader, depending on how you play. Anyway thats how I see it.
@AxelX919 evil power only have that megawhat hammer which deals a lot of dmg against 1 enemy, but the good side has much more usefull moves, the good grenade which is so much more powerfull then the evil version, pinning ppl down = xp + more dmg + more range + more change for sticky bomb stunt, a guiding megawhat hammer excellent for taking ppl of roofs when you are down on the street, recharging while attacking enemy with the electric shot upgrades
Notice that Kessler's lightning is white(Neutral). Which must mean he would have had to of mastered both good and evil powers, making Kessler the most powerful conduit that had ever lived.
The Wanderer well he could turn back time, had fire powers, electricity and telekinesis, so yeah he was pretty powerful, just too old to fight
But Kessler never wanted to kill Cole.
He wanted to make him strong and numb to feelings (like killing Trish and tricking Zeke), so he would be able to defeat the Beast without getting emotional of the consequences.

@@bweekid1258 Lol because it doesn't concern Zeke, he wanted the fight between him and Cole.
More fore shadowing is also from Alden saying "You and Kessler are more alike than you realize"
Kessler has to be one of the best written characters of all time. From his motives to his troubled past
Ikr underrated
Notice that when Kessler fires his electricity, it glows like the evil karma powers before it is dispersed as white which means future Cole had mastered both the evil and good karma powers. He only lost because he wasn't trying to kill past Cole, he was just trying to make him stronger so he could defeat the beast in the future
Cole Macgrath Vs. Kessler is my favorite battle that I wanted to face.
When you have full negative (infamous) or positive(hero) karma you can go into a state in which you have infinite electricty (for a short time)
People, just block Kessler's lightning with your shield😜
TheJudofreak1 Ikr, i never see this fight on UA-cam where people use the poliarity wall
Ive tried that before and it doesnt work.

@@DoctorFail right. When I fought kessler with black lightning the fight honestly took about 3 minutes. Black lightning was just op.

this is got to be one of the best boss batlle and endings of a game in the history of gaming
Just completed this, took me about an hour to complete.. nearly gave up! Absolutely solid... by far the hardest level by about 10 times
The 2nd was better, but the 1sts story was way more deep
Lol i enjoyed everything aboit the 1st game more, but thats just my opinion
Dark Cole: now you will experience the full power of the dark side.
when Kessler teleports like that it sort of reminds me of the blink power in dishonored
Steven Jewell I don't think it's teleportation. I think it was super speed. You can see a dash of white when he uses it.
OH SHOOT! i thought of a awesome dlc for this game. its where u play as kessler go thru all of the stuff he did and so it makes more sense to those who didnt understand the story!!!

Brilliant idea
This Is By Far, The Most... Amazing Game... Ever.
Too bad it's not on PC. Thank you for making this excellent gameplay video. I wouldn't have experienced this game at all without it.

i love the story on this game.
much better than alot of storys actually in games right now..
cant w8 for the 2nd one:)
6:07 ladies and gentlemen, the best fucking plot twist since, "No I am your father"
Cole with black lightning is scarily badass.
i like how everytime i watch zeke come out he fails and misses everyshot on kessler
"This doesn't concern you fat man." hahaha that was hilarious.
Had a headache killing the trash guys but my mind got soft when killing Kessler

I'm at the balloon part just started this game like a month ago had it for awhile you are amazing
John is the beast!!.. Remember when he got pulled in to the vortex, he got powers same as Cole and landed to the future!!

You have to remember Kessler is an Alternate Cole which means he could have other powers apart from wat Cole does.
This is actually mission number 39, not 40.
This guy was so fun to fight lol. Didn't expect that ending though.
It gives you an option during the mission before this one if you wanna activate the Ray Sphere, if you activate it your lightening turs red AND black
Thats one sick ass ending!! wow the power to travel time, hmm i dont recall that to be lightning attribute, but still awesome!
FUCK I MISS 2008!!! 😩😭
2009

well then time travel makes coal's power's slightly more badass then alex's...although, the fact that alex can turn into anybody is still awesome!

So.. if Kessler and Cole are the same person, and Kessler is a future Cole, COLE WILL BE ABLE TO TELEPORT? AWESOME :D
He didn't teleport. He was just that fast.
The way they set it up for a sequel, it'd be pretty much impossible for no sequel.
Kessler was a piece of cake on Hard. Roll, shoot... rinse and repeat
this would make for a hell of a movie
I always loose on the part when I have to tap quickly.
Im guessing in Infamous 2 Coles going to learn ALOT more about his powers and get alot more abilities judging from the fight with Kessler.
I ALREADY BEAT THIS GAME ON HERO BUT DID YOU KNOW THAT JOHN WAS THE BEAST
Now that Infamous 2 is up, I guess the beast in Kessler Timeline is Cole.

Is it just me or is Cole referring to Red Foreman from That 70's Show?
without the mutation, the hood, the old saggy face, his eyes of evil

They're both the same game... I just rented Prototype today and I find them both equally entertaining.

i'm ready for the BEAST!!!!!!!
CAN'T WAIT UNTIL INFAMOUS 2 COME'S OUT!!!
wo0o!!!!!!
Cool
this was played on Normal setting. The game did flip it to hard on me at the beginning so I changed it back.
Using Arc Lightning as Infamous is the best power against Kessler.
@thisistony5 if you actually pay attention, theyre not teleporting, theyre moving super fast
The final battle is much easier to do on hard as fully good than evil.
I wonder if anyone's ever uploaded this fight with an inFamous Cole who destroyed the RaySphere.
u can tell by the ending theres gonna be another game when he faces and kills the beast
3:23 you just had to piss Cole off, didn't you Kessler
No, he will not be ready. According to GameInformer, Cole gets his ass kicked by the beast in the beginning of inFamous 2.
wow.....that thing he did with thunder i didnt know he could do that
@sgbrian1 you that john was the beast in infamous 2
@carlosjalicea Yes,go to the pause menu and go to powers, got through everyone, got to botttom power,HERO or infamous, eventually you'll find it.
You get the yellow outfit by taking the good route
awesome ending
when Kessler uses the white electric shock, u can use your shield. the electricity doesn't come trough lol
( soz for english, im dutch )
