@@whocaresaboutthename6850Why would Papyrus be the game's main antagonist if in Undertale he was a good person and someone who didn't really want to kill Frisk?
@@diegocalderal A. We don't rlly know The Knight's motives and if they're indeed Evil B. Papyrus says that anyone can change and it would be rlly cool narrative wise if he experienced that himself
@@whocaresaboutthename6850 Well, we know that the knight is aware of Kris, Susie and Ralsei and keeps opening dark fountains after they seal one. So, they are aware of the roaring too, since Ralsei is the one who tells the prophecy to Kris and Susie in the first place. Well, it would be controversial if he was the villain of the game. But if he really is then I can't fo anything unlike Jevil.
Additional point: Susie says (I believe to Lancer in chapter 1), "Everybody bleeds, right?" This and the fact that Deltarune's monsters have cemeteries leads to believe that the monsters of Deltarune aren't made of magic, they can bleed, and their body will persist when they die. Sans within Undertale shows these features. He's the only monster that bleeds, even when other monsters like Toriel and Undyne don't bleed after taking a substantial blow. He walks off screen when he dies, so we can't even be sure if he dispersed into dust, or simply collapsed from blood loss. (Wild goose chase idea: backtrack through all of Undertale after killing Sans in order to try and find his body)
Toriel and Undyne bleeds too, are you blind? Look at Toriel's mouth on geno route after striking her down, something is dripping on her mouth. As for Undyne, before transformation, she gets cut on her armor, there are white splashes around where you hit her, If monsters did not bleed, she would only have a cracked armor and not this.
@urdeadnotbigsuprise7439 I decided to go back and check the fights again to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything, not only for Toriel and Undyne, but the other boss's neutral and genocide kills. The point you brought up for Toriel: I can see how what's going on with her mouth can be interpreted as blood. Unlike the primary slash across her body and on her face, the area around her mouth does go away when she changes her facial expression and closes her mouth. Although there isn't the distinct 'blood red' color here that was visible in the Sans fight, there is room for debate as to whether this is blood or not. The point you brought up about Undyne: I don't see the same connection here as with Toriel. In the genocide run, she is sliced in half (diagonally), and her upper portion is even sliding down during her monolog. Despite this, I don't see any evidence of blood, especially no 'blood red' color. As for the other fights, they really don't show significant signs of potential bleeding. Papyrus's body remains unchanged even as his head falls from his shoulders, Mettaton EX/NEO is a robot and basically is just destroyed after either fight, and Asgore will simply just kneel in either situation before Flowey kills him. The point is that Sans is the only character who is explicitly shown to bleed specifically in 'blood red'. Even supposing that monsters like Toriel and Undyne do in fact bleed, their blood is in black and white, meanwhile Sans bleeds "differently".
@@urdeadnotbigsuprise7439 Truth be told, I'm not seeing any splashes, only white lines outlining where she was sliced. There's no sort of dripping or splashing that I can see that looks like blood.
@@rowaned14 you have to look carefully on her left side (not yours) it's easy to miss If you are not looking good enough. Of course unlike with Toriel, there is seemingly no dripping. I think monsters do BLEED but does not bleed the same color like humans does (or Battle Hud does not allow colors until Sans Fight) Either way, If Toby added blood for every monster, this game's rating would have been changed drastically.
Something else that is interesting is that in undertale on the crossword puzzle that Sans gives you you can see a picture of ICEE on it, as far as I know this is ICEE’s only appearance in undertale, and ICEE seems to be a restaurant from the deltarune universe because it actually has multiple appearances in deltarune and a picture of ICEE shows up in one of the dark world puzzles in chapter 2. Another interesting thing about ICEE in undertale is that one of the fun values will change the text above ICEE to “NIGHTMARE” which is a pretty odd detail because Jevil seems to mention something about nightmares awaking in your heart. Edit: I double checked the fun value thing and it turns out I’m wrong about the text being above ICEE’s head, it goes above the snowman’s head on the right side of the paper
i was reading that on reddit while I was editing and was heavily considering putting it somewhere in the video, but couldn’t really find a spot to put it in! it’s a very interesting fact tho!
I think Papyrus doesn't know what the sun is because his memory of what life was before Snowdin is kinda foggy and going to Undertale made he forget a lot of things, which didn't happen to Sans because of "don't forget"
Personally, I like the theory that Sans came from the Deltarune world, but Papyrus didn't make it with him, so Sans accepts Undertale Papyrus as his brother because he doesn't want to accept that his real brother is gone.
@@ErzaEtherealAccording to Jaru (creator of this Theory) that Sans is dead and is fuzed with Gaster and that's why there seems to be 2 faces in Mystery Man.
Good vid! One thing I'd like to point out, since most of the Lightners in Deltarune look like the characters in Undertale the picture of Sans with a group of people you don't recognize has to be either Sans with a different group of Lightners we haven't seen before (maybe the town he moved from) or... it's a photo of Sans with the Darkners implying that we'll get Sans in a Dark World at some point. I don't think I'm ready to see Sans interacting with Queen.
I loved watching this theory video! I don't know about Papyrus, but I definitely believe Sans in Undertale was originally from the Deltarune reality/universe.
Please just hear me out and read the entire comment before getting all mad at me. Some people here may or may not have heard of this theory before, but I believe Sans and Papyrus could just be reincarnations of human souls, as well as other monsters. Papyrus says in the Q&A that he remembers somewhere grassy. What if he's just originally from the surface? I believe that Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys, Napstablook, and Muffet could be reincarnations of humans after they are killed in the Underground. I've even decided what souls belong to who: Papyrus: Kindness - Papyrus's optimistic and kind-hearted nature, his desire to make friends rather than engage in conflict, and his general goodwill toward others make him a fitting candidate for the Kindness soul. Sans: Perseverance - Sans's determination to protect the timeline and his repeated attempts to stop the player in the Genocide route make Perseverance a fitting soul. Despite his seemingly laid-back demeanor, his commitment to what he believes is right demonstrates perseverance. Undyne: Justice - Undyne's strong sense of justice, her role as the head of the Royal Guard, and her commitment to protecting monsters align with the qualities associated with the Justice soul. Her actions in both the Pacifist and Genocide routes reflect a commitment to what she believes is right. Alphys: Integrity - Alphys's character arc involves a journey toward honesty and facing her mistakes, aligning with the Integrity soul. Her transformation and willingness to admit her shortcomings demonstrate a commitment to truth and integrity. Muffet: Bravery - Despite her selfish motives for money, Muffet's assertiveness in battles and willingness to challenge the player in defense of her spiders could be interpreted as a form of bravery. Her dedication to her cause and assertive actions demonstrate boldness. Grillby: Patience - Grillby, the enigmatic proprietor of the bar in Snowdin, embodies the essence of Patience in the Undertale world. His calm and composed demeanor serves as a haven for travelers seeking respite from the tumultuous journey through the Underground. The flickering flames that make up his form dance with a serene patience, mirroring the tranquility of his establishment. As the silent observer to the events unfolding around him, Grillby gracefully tends to the needs of his patrons, embodying the spirit of patience amidst the chaos that characterizes the Underground. I saw another comment saying that Sans went to Grillby and asked for "his usual". Originally, I was going to say that Napstablook could be patience, but I decided Grillby actually would fit that better in some ways. I also think Monster Kid could be Bravery rather than Muffet, as him standing up to Undyne when you save him or when he stands up to you when you try to kill him in Genocide. The reason I never include Asgore, Toriel, or Asriel in this is because they were alive before the humans were killed, so none of the 6 human souls would be one of them. I won't say a lot about Chara and Flowey/Asriel other than this; The reason there is no reincarnation of Chara could be because Chara's soul was absorbed, or there could be other reasons for that but I don't want to dive into that right now. That's really all I have to talk about. If there are any details that could be used against me feel free to comment and I might see it, but I'm not in the mood to do a bunch of research and put that all in here.
Something to bring up too, is the classic Papyrus "Why do you sound like you're in a toilet" immediately followed up by "what's a toilet?" Line. This combined with Papyrus taking a moment to remember The Green Grass™️ reads to me as a classic case of Amnesia. Which could even have an additional explanation of why he's so smart yet also enjoys children's books so much: he just doesn't remember having a childhood so he enjoys things from it.
Dang I hope that isn't true that's a smidge too sad Maybe he has some really depressing memories and wants to forget them? Or he was too little to remember?
Solid arguments all around, and while I don’t personally see this being ever proven to be true in deltarune (fair chance Toby doesn’t even intend for this to be true), I’m excited thinking about what it would mean and whether future chapters actually will touch on the brothers’ backstories.
