I would always help a homeless person, but never an addict. Why help them? That they continue to use drugs. They should only be helped if they WANT to get rid of drugs
the team of volunteers working to feed and help these people all day everyday are truly hero’s. the compassion and dedication they show is what makes the world go round. hopefully someday we can develop treatments and programs that treat the social, psychological and behavioral aspects of addiction.
I can’t imagine how you felt filming this. Horrific. We have a world wide disaster unfolding & it can’t be stopped. This drug deletes the soul completely. It opens the soul to horrific torment. God bless you Drew.
Drew, I love following your content! I'm Brazilian and currently live in São Paulo. Our city is incredibly rich in culture, with numerous tourist attractions, cultural landmarks, and vibrant places to explore. However, unfortunately, crack addiction has deeply impacted a large portion of the homeless population. Walking freely in the city center is not an option...we always have to stay on high alert due to the risk of theft. Sadly, it feels like public policies fail to address this situation. Instead of solving the problem, they simply relocate people, causing the issue to spread throughout the downtown area.
Thanks very much mate for these kind of videos. It makes me feel sad, and I love it because it pulls me up out from this cruel world to be that few persons to stand up and fight to do good. Oh what a sad world it is ! I wish you all the people of this earth joy and peace, much love. May GOD be with you all ! ❤
an object cannot be "evil", evil is just a social concept like morality, and honestly the real problem isn't even the substance, but the fact that people will use it irresponsibly, impulsively, and without any kind of harm reduction. for all the "evil" drugs do, most of them still have actual uses people need them for
@@royaleagle-brawlstars6113 no but you can choose to start, and with proper harm reduction not only does addiction levels fall but so do deaths, imagine if these people or eve the US (opioid epidemic) had a place to buy and sell where they could trust the sellers, not just randoms off the street and then also had a good rehab program, not only is it safer but it makes it easier to stop.
As a Brazilian this situation is really sad, Cracolândia has always been there and the people there are marginalized. It’s really important to note that this is not all of Brazil but it’s part of our country unfortunately. Thank you drew
I`m a Brazilian citizen and I love my country. Seeing situations like this in the city of São Paulo makes me sad and reflective. I pray that God will free our nation from the domination of drugs.

Some mayors, especially those on the right, who passed through São Paulo, promoted the compulsory hospitalization of drug users, but midi, NGOs and mainly left-wing politicians have always blocked the advancement of these measures.
There aren't that many deaths there, I go there all the time, I've never seen a dead person. The fight that took place is common, the drug addicts themselves break up the fights, so the police don't come

What an amazing video! It brings us the opportunity to understand the problems that some people are going through, and it underscores that São Paulo has a huge problem with crack. I wish that all "walkers" could live again!
I believe god has a plan for Brazil, trust in him, Brazil is one of the most special places we have in this world, the people included. Things will get better
Drug Epidemics are not just about substance abuse but also about marginalized societies and their inability to cope with such circumstances resorting to such self destructive lifestyles. Truly Heartbreaking to see this !
I've never seen anything like this!! Most people have the cycle of addiction. It's hard to find people who want help. They are truly lost souls, who need guidance. Some just need to know someone cares about their struggles and broken dreams. I will pray for those still struggling with addiction.❤
Eu só acho que eles recebem mais ajuda do que um idoso que não tem vício e que não conseguiu se aposentar , ninguém vai até a residência deste idoso ,levar uma marmita de comida 😢😢😢😢😢
I'm Brazilian, so I think I have the freedom to talk about this. Do you know why they don't change? Because of these people who help; that's the problem. They don't need support, they need retaliation. The users themselves say, 'Why work? The government supports us.' You might say, 'But what about the truly poor people?' because you’re only basing this on a video. Most of the people they showed there are drug users. I'm not saying this lightly, since the addicts themselves, when interviewed, say they don’t need anything else because they’re given everything. I believe the city hall shouldn't focus social services in the center; it should spread them out so that users don't concentrate in one location, and increase the operational forces of both the military and civil police. We can't treat them like they're a bunch of helpless people, because that's not what they are.
Being an addict is a sickness and is classified as such. But not every country can or should invest into its treatment. Addicts are still a minority of the total population and they are expensive to get out of their addiction.

I tried 2 grams of shrooms for the first time yesterday and it was the most amazing happy loving experience I could I ever hope for. My mood is so positive now that it feels equivalent of taking a week long vacation somewhere nice. This would help so many people.
APE scares me alot.. it's like you're high, but you are literally been transported somewhere, and are truly awake or something. Like it feels as if you are in your final form or highest state of being or something. same like DMT and LSD.

Drugs, they are evil. Ruins lives. That fight, terrible. I admire you. I thank you for bringing these things out in open.
an object cannot be "evil", evil is just a social concept like morality, and honestly the real problem isn't even the substance, but the fact that people will use it irresponsibly, impulsively, and without any kind of harm reduction. for all the "evil" drugs do, most of them still have actual uses people need them for
@@000-v7jYou can't chose to be addicted.

If you'd like to get a clue, you can always read a book. Try "Race, Evolution, and Behavior

@@Boyhowdy875 Not quite sure how this relates to the shock the poster has about culling people. Could you explain a bit further on the subject, this is not a troll but honest curiosity based question. I was under the impression the book was about the theory of the three main races of humans.

Uma coisa não exclui a outra. São Paulo tem a maior população em situação de rua do Brasil.
We can't treat them like they're a bunch of helpless people, because that's not what they are.
exactly, these people are enablers
Being an addict is a sickness and is classified as such.
But not every country can or should invest into its treatment. Addicts are still a minority of the total population and they are expensive to get out of their addiction.
