Big physical media news! The Severin Sale is live and we can shop it together and we will check out some big Vinegar Syndrome titles that are going OOP and some Scream Factory titles that are selling fast in their pre order window + some of my top Kino 4k targets! If anyone wants to know, I ended up with:
Opera, Dracula v Frankenstein, Night of the Demon, The Devil's Honey, Attic Expeditions, Overboard (with slip) all for under $125 and rather than waiting the 4-6 weeks for shipping, I picked up Christoper Lee Dracula 4k on ebay new, for $30 and the same for Blood for Dracula
Severin doesn't really limit their slipcovers, certainly not for new releases. So there's really no worries with any newer slipped stuff from this year at all. They don't post a count because they're not limited. They just keep making more as more copies are sold. You can still get slips on their releases from years and years ago, so there's no need to rush with Severin stuff and not get it on sale, some collectors are just impatient.
I ordered FT13 from Amazon it was cheaper and gift cards. Got jaws 3/4 steel from gruv 50$ total. Original Amityville from deep discount. I still know fith element 4k steel and species 2 4k amazon 3 for 2 sale

So one of the people listed in the special features in Dracula v Frankenstein, is a former coworker (Sean Graver) of mine. We worked together for 5-6 years. His Dad was cinematographer on most of Al Adamson’s films. The funny part is I didn’t know it until I watched that Al Adamson documentary, and Sean who was also a child actor in a couple of his movies was featured in that documentary and was even at the Spahn Movie Ranch. Needless to say my mind was blown

I grabbed it myself along with that Al Adamson doc, Opera, Count Dracula and Brain of Blood. Btw, did you see the post from Severin where you can add to your existing order all weekend long with no extra charge? I sure wish other labels did that because I racked shipping fees on several different orders with VS last week
@TheTylerpoe yeah I saw that! Having that add to order feature saved me a lot with Vinegar Syndrome- it is a smart move by the boutiques to get people to keep adding to their orders easier

I pre-ordered Opera 4k 5 disc set and then bought 6 other movies that were very cheap. Great sale and I would have bought alot more but buying 23 Kino Lorber movies and 40 Vinegar Syndrome movies really put a hurtin on my wallet lol.

I have werewolves in a girls dormitory on dvd for years one of my first movies from some company that had tons of odd movies back in 1990s. Blood for D was made in my birth year
Blood for Dracula is a nice set for the $ here on sale
Got the Opera set. Then picked up some 4k I missed. Bad Biology, Dr Butcher M.D., Nightmare.

Good haul! I ended up with Opera, Night of the Demon, Frankestien vs Dracula, Attic Expeditions, Blood for Dracula, Overboard, and 1 or 2 others and somehow stayed under $125 so I am excited about that lol... I bought the Christopher Lee Dracula on ebay for $34 with free shipping so I didnt have to wait so long to get it lol

Andy Warhols Dracula was X in 1974. In 1975 it was recut to get an R. If Severin used the original was it from 74 or 75. I’m watching the tape and the 4K now to see what matters. I seen the 4K at fye and it was 75$ but now I knew it existed so I got it on amazon for 50$ I think and the cellophane said R the box and disc say not rated
the Severin listing has this in bold letters in the description so maybe it is the uncut X rated version? "now scanned uncut in 4K from the original negative for the first time ever."
Thanks Chase! Is there anywhere we can find how many copies of a certain franchise/version of same mainstream releases (especially 4k versions)..... have been produced?

That blood for Dracula was 75$ but I got for a little less but it’s R used to be X on the tape I have they cut the dirty parts for some reason they took out what made it unique still a good movie also Andy Warhol made Frankenstein same deal changed title and took out good parts. I don’t know why Severin says it’s uncut. If they change the title can they cut stuff and say it’s uncut
I was trying to see, I thought it was uncut - not the R version
Are there inserts or something? Most people consider that to not be definitive since, a lot of times, those things were inserted after the fact so that the movies could be played at adult theaters. A good example of this is Thriller: A Cruel Picture Show.
@@djdepression the sticker on vhs tape says Andy Warhol and has an X 106 minutes the Dvd says nothing but is 103 minutes and it was X in 1974 and in 1975 they cut it by a few minutes to get an R according to IMDb also changed tote to blood for Dracula they butchered Frankenstein more and that’s like 200$ right now Severin

dude, I deal with it with my theme park fandom and that channel too...people who dont care about Universal Studios or Disney theme park stuff will go and buy up all of the new merch and collectible drops just to re-sell them and that drives up the price for real fans who want teh stuff...the same thing with movies smh...I'm not going after the collector who maybe buys 2 of something sometimes to sell one to help fund their hobby and collecting... Im talking the people who create a bunch of accounts and buy a bunch of them and cause the products to go out of stock and then sell them for 3 and 4 and 5 times the price...smh
@@AVAPopCulture I wouldn’t care if it wasn’t noticeable greed 1 oop movie here goes for crazy prices exact same movie over seas also oop very reasonable prices most of the time. And you’re right I remember a time when finding out about something that released years ago was almost always still available, I laughed at preorders there was no need but now if you don’t plan ahead you’re screwed. I’ve sold off things in my collection I didn’t want anymore but not to gouge the fans.

That's really weird. I ordered something off Severin in March and my total was $60. Now I'm ordering $58 worth of stuff and they're charging me $14 to ship it. Hmmm. It's not like they make money off the shipping so I wonder why they jacked up the shipping probably because of the major sale. I ended up getting, theater bizarre. Lost soul Richard Stanley. Dracula versus Frankenstein. Castle of creeping flesh. Burial ground. Blood for Dracula single disc And the beast in heat.
Im not sure where the free shipping threshold starts...it may be different for this sale...also, I noticed on checkout it defaults to $18 shipping, you have to change it to the free shipping

I thought about grabbing Blood for Dracula single disc too because that was such a good price but I just want that nice big set...and how cool does that Dracula v Frankenstein artwork look??? So damn cool and only 9.99? I was all over it!! Beast in heat is super messed up but definitely good for my midnight movie series!
@@AVAPopCultureyeah I just bought some stuff off arrow sale and some Zavvi stuff something off the severin sale as well so I've been celebrating getting my new job by going overboard and buying a bunch of blu-rays LOL. I told my brother what I bought lately and he was like damn. That artwork is what drew me to that Dracula versus Frankenstein for sure. Strangely enough, I've never seen blood for Dracula so I didn't want to get the set just in case I didn't like it. So I just settled for the single disc.
Recently I picked up ganja and Hess which I've never seen. Killer clowns steel book because I think it'll be going out of stock pretty soon and out of print. I think that was your video. 12 monkeys the stuff and creepshow 2 from arrow because they were $17 a piece. Alien 4K even though that was just from Walmart and not really on sale And some orbit DVD stuff. Southern comfort box set. Riddle of fire boxed Blu-ray And collateral 4K from orbit. I have a lot of stuff to watch now
