Every time I watch, I get a kick out of how those dogs follow you every step of the way... back and forth, back and forth. That little Gemma is a farm dog Extraordinaire!!!
Daniel, isn't it amazing how much you can accomplish when there's no one but you home! That one hour of you doing your chores, the mud hole for Big Mac and the driveway for the 4wheeler definitely makes you feel proud of yourself and you deserve to feel that because it's a job well done! Thanks for taking us along on the tractor with you and have a great evening with the fellowship!!
I always say I work better under pressure lol. I can totally relate to the mud we live in Oklahoma as well and our animals are suffering from the mud. We have hauled tons of rock from the creek and they just sink in the mud. You are such an inspiration and thanks for the invite to join Jimmy Houston's catch of the day I am truly blessed on a daily basis. God bless you and your family.
1. So glad you took care of The Three Stooges. Big Mac especially. 2. The girl donkey poodles are looking awfully fluffy, especially Lucy. 3. The rocks will sink in and make a great bed for the little rock to come. The little jobs add up. Love watching you work, your life is so much fun.
You might think about adding a gutter on the edge of the roof we're Big Mac and the goats are. You can add a couple watering troughs at each end of the barn for the gutter to empty into along with overflow pipes on the troughs to carry the excess water away from the barn.
@@bigmamma6946 it's one of those projects that can be as cheap or as expensive as you want, lol. You can do it pretty cheap using pvc pipe instead of actual gutters. Search UA-cam, tons of great ideas and how to's.
Thanks for the gentle kick this morning Daniel. I’ve had several projects waiting on me and after watching you this morning it motivated me to hit the ground running today. God bless you and your family.
I love watching you interact with your animals.I am frequently laughed at and made fun of for having conversations with my goats and rabbits. I just laugh and tell people they do not know what they are missing.
I praise God for blessing y’all with so much. Wonder if I’m the first Filipina city woman who’d want to come do one day of free labor for you, just so I can drive your tractor 🤔🤣. So awesome!! 🥰 God bless ALL
Put about 2"-3" of dirt on top of the rocks. Big Mac might like it better. Also whenever Daniel is doing a task/chore, seems Lambert is always close by being curious. I like Lambert the best.
Even after you put the smaller rock down, please put some dirt on top of the rock. The animals can get these rocks in and between their hooves. This will cause BIG TROUBLE. Please keep an eye on their feet.
Number one fan right here! Thank you Daniel, Houston, Arms family homestead and goats of course for motivating me to turn my outdoor channel more into a family/Homestead channel!
My husband always says.. " procrastinators unite tomorrow!!" You should be very proud of your channel Daniel. The only way is up!! God bless and be safe!🇺🇸👮👍👍
Your fan club has really grown! That is how my hens act when they see me outside in late afternoon, getting the scratch grain. Of course it is the dried meal works that they really love!
Shoulda took a few more loader bucket out before you put the big rock in. And then it would be about 6 inches down. Then after a few days put the smaller rock on that to level it back up to the grade of the rest of it . And that trail rock will beat into the Mudd good. Then add another layer and so on . It will really get solid after a few times 👍 . Good vid 🇺🇸
I have a Plant Diary, (not always about plants) that ive been keeping since we moved here in 2005. I also have two lists, one is List of things to do for the house( we bought a 1989 fixer upper), and the other is Landscaping list which includes everything outdoors, house beds, orchard, gardens, pasture(we have 5 acres), and vineyard. I made a word document out of each list, and as i finish it, I change the lettering to Red, and i move it to the end of the document under the heading, Done. So far, i have 39 PAGES of done stuff for the house (we have almost completely renovated it!) and 30 pages of done stuff for the rest of the 5 acres, including replacing all the fences! Nearly a mile of fencing and cross fencing, all needed replacing. Its a great way to see your accomplishments!
Hey Dan, you should lay road fabric down first. That'll keep your material on top. I'm a ex logger and I've built roads through swamps. Love your videos.
I read a book a long time ago about making lists. The top item on your list is, "Make a list" ...for today, for the week, etc. Every time you accomplish something from your list you cross it off. When you are done making your list, cross off the top item. It sets off a sense of accomplishment. My father was an avid list maker. He had them at the kitchen table, taped to his bathroom mirror, in his truck... and you would see the items marked off as the week went by. He ran two businesses and he seemed to do alright and he seemed to be very happy with himself at the end of the day. He's been gone for 16 years, but I still make lists every Monday and I do think of him when I look at my finished lists.
Lol! I am the queen of procrastination Daniel so I agree wholeheartedly with you. Finishing a small task sets me up to tackle a bigger one. Today God gave strength to my healing body to cut down 4 young trees & clear ground for new fruit trees to be planted in my yard here in Arizona. You are so wise for such a young man😉 God Bless🙏

Making a list of things to do and then crossing them off as they’re done really makes me feel like I accomplished something. Watching this on Thursday after going to church for Ash Wednesday service last night. Got two loads of clothes and the dog washed. Tomorrow it’s off to the vet.
Carol B You're not a true listaholic until you find yourself doing something that needed doing but wasn't on your list...and so you add it to your list just so you can cross it off.

Are you sure we don't have smell-a-vision? I grew up on a dairy farm, and when you were cleaning out that "mud" hole, I'd swear I could smell it!! Memories are strong sometimes!! We lived on a dirt road & we used to think Daddy would grade it with his scrapeblade & tractor just for the fun of it. Now that we're grown we know better!
You explained procrastinating in a nutshell. I've always done my best thinking and work on a deadline. For years I've called it being "threatened by a Dragon" from book 4 of the Harry Potter series. Where Harry is trying to learn a spell and can't master it until he has to confront the dragon in the first trial. So with anything that needs doing just wait til the last minute. Wait til the dragon is on your doorstep. Always works for me.
I've said it for a few years now; A tractor with a front end loader and front wheel assist is the most valuable tool on the ranch. Don't know how we got along so long without one. Great video.
Daniel we use what we call pea gravel. It works great with that kind of muddy problem and also great for driveways then we top the driveways with crushed dust.
Brandy Monica Now I’m in middle Tennessee and it is not like snot here! I’m glad because it is raining all the time here and new ponds are all over the place! Sucks!
Strangely, it was bugging me too! No sense at all. It’s not my farm. Your place looks about as perfect as I’ve seen. And I really like your talks Daniel. I hope you know that you are reaching people. You are inspiring.
that was nice of u to fix the rock for big mac and goat and the donkey poople too and the other place to it better when mud anyday God bless u and the family
Was good to see a video from you. Nice quick job on the driveway and Big Mac's mud spa area. Crush run now to lock the rock in. Have a Blessed evening Sir. Tell the family hello for me.
When you backdrag with the front bucket flat Eventually you'll wear the back of the bucket out.. Before then (as soon as i buy a loader) weld a thick piece of angle iron (3/8 thick minimum) on the back of the bucket... Then don't worry about using it to level with... Just remember to constantly grease your bucket pins. They will get a lot of dirt in them..
It's only rained 2 times this winter in South Carolina. One time for 45 days and one time for 35 days. Not really that bad, but it sometimes it seems like it.
Daniel we did the same thing to our yard that the dogs well mostly the 155# Rottweiler made a mud pit like yours. It did not take too long he had the stone mashed down into the ground. If I were to do it again I would invest in sand. It would make it easier on the feet and possibly make it last longer.
Cows = mud & muck lol. We have some low areas we struggle with, finally laid 2 stone and lime to correct it. It isn't a long term solution tho, and with 10 head (including calves) we are researching better solutions. We have a creek and pond on the property, so I totally get what you have going. You're right it will help the hooves once they accept the stone.
I couldn’t function with out my to do list. I have monthly goals. Every night I do to list for next day. Every morning I prioritize. My husband hates it 😂😂😂
Every time I watch, I get a kick out of how those dogs follow you every step of the way... back and forth, back and forth. That little Gemma is a farm dog Extraordinaire!!!

I surprised myself at how happy I was to see you put down rock to fill in Big Mac's quagmire! Wow 💕
Love your channel Daniel. It brightens my day.
Homesteady did some rockwork in front of their barn. They did large rocks but the cows wouldnt walk on it, they had to put small stones on top
Thanks for the reminder of goal setting. It was something that I used to day regularly
Slick as snot a comment that my pops use to say ahhh memories hey he was for OK too...
Was good to see a video from you. Nice quick job on the driveway and Big Mac's mud spa area. Crush run now to lock the rock in. Have a Blessed evening Sir. Tell the family hello for me.
great feeling to get some goals and tasks accomplished. Way to go Daniel. :-)
When you backdrag with the front bucket flat
Eventually you'll wear the back of the bucket out..
I'm glad Houston won't get stuck. Maybe in the future, you can get a bridge wide enough to go over the flooding.
Daniel we did the same thing to our yard that the dogs well mostly the 155# Rottweiler made a mud pit like yours. It did not take too long he had the stone mashed down into the ground. If I were to do it again I would invest in sand. It would make it easier on the feet and possibly make it last longer.
Great work. Maybe add some dirt over those rocks. It would be much better for the animals to walk on. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your day
It's great to keep everything work out and check on. Big Mac didn't want to move . Cute little 🐐. I enjoyed your video and thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the list idea as a refresher ! Now if it would stay warm and not HOT in Florida that would be great !
One of my favorite parts of every video is right when you open the door and it’s all Goat faces, lol, too cute!
I write down my list every day. I reward myself with tea.
The goats look like they was smiling when you open the door 🙂🐐
I a, also glad we dont have Smellavision! Lol
My favorite channel, great editing
Setting goals DOES help get things accomplished. Words of wisdom bro!
Thanks for sharing.
God bless you and your beautiful family
“Baby fever with someone else’s baby.” Oh my gosh I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time!!
Daniel, you could open a mud spa with what your bucket is scooping up.
I couldn’t function with out my to do list. I have monthly goals. Every night I do to list for next day. Every morning I prioritize. My husband hates it 😂😂😂
Almost makes me feel accomplished watching you get things done. That mud hole has been an issue for you for awhile now
