Your videos are so clean and simple, there’s no shitty background music, no fake youtuber voice, just you teaching us the viewers how to do shit like a normal person, that’s why I’m subbing to your channel
Great demo! Will join your Patreon group right away. I’m hacking away on a bust, trying to build it from the skeleton out. Seemed like a great idea until I tried to get the eyes and the brow mass into the eye sockets. Yikes! Insufficient reference photos are not helping…. I’m all in on joining you for an écorché, and a skeleton would be a blast, although I can see serious technical problems in clay-lots of bbq skewers! Quick question-what is that little metal tool and where did you get it? Love the little paddle end. And LOVE your homemade micro rake. Lovely sculpture and extremely clear and helpful commentary. Bravo, you!

Hey how are you? I love your Proko sculpture channel and I have a question . What if I want to make fictional characters into real life sculptures ? How would I capture the angles . Would I have to use different references ?
Depends on the character and how they are represented. The main thing is getting many references of the character from all angles you can (which can be tricky). Are you thinking cartoonish characters or realistic characters?
Thanks for making this video! Did you heat up the Chavant clay in this video? I just bought a chavant clay, my palms got sore the day after using it "raw"
@@nehuenjavier6962 yeah working with Stan and his team is awesome. there's still a bit of work to do on the figure sculpture fundamentals proko course but it should be awesome once it comes out.
Yeah I recently did a lesson on the Proko 3D channel on sculpting from imagination. It’s tricky but having a basic understanding of sculpting principles and having practices the head and facial features will definitely help.
@@AndrewJosephKeith I also got a little lost little on how to make the rib cage because it looks confusing . Also in the premium is there a slower of how to do the armature ?
WHY do you exaggerate the eye lid thickness more? perhaps the classical sculptures were after that...God like, over worldly look, like for example in ancient Rome Emporor's were depicted with no bridge to their noses, as a matter of importance. But I don't see the need with modern portrait sculpture, it can sometimes look goggle eyed looking.
Honestly is better to invest in professional materials so you are practicing with the actual tools you will be using for probably the rest of your life. those wax sculpting tools are the best I ever had and currently I cant afford to get them and is not the same, they make things mucg easier,
I think if you can afford professional grade materials and tools then go ahead! I just know that many people feel they must get the professional stuff when in reality they just need practice and starting with whatever is available is better than not starting at all.

Couldn't agree more - especially the lack of music. Even pleasant music is distracting, if there's a commentary and you're trying to learn something.
Facts.

I never knew i was good at this. Thank youuu
Liked the improvised tools. A friend introduced me to a particular plastic flossing bow that has a nice tapered curving point. Great for tiny details.
Oh yeah I could see those working for tools! Thanks for the comment!
This was excellent, thank you!
You’re welcome!
Andrew 😊 I will learn a lot! Thanks!
Sou brasileiro e acompanho seus vídeos. Faço esculturas com papel machê e aproveito muitas de suas dicas em meu trabalho! Parabéns e obrigado!

@@AndrewJosephKeith I’m thinking turininf the fictional form into realistic human form. An example is let’s say Finn from adventure time
@@AndrewJosephKeith yea it can be tricky due to some characters not having full angles from all around
Stunning work!
The first tool you are useing, where could I get it?
I got it from a set I got on eBay called "stainless steal wax sculpting tools" or something like that.
Very nice demo..🎉🎉🎉
Thanks!
I love to watch, I use to do it also on a limestone but I'm not a professional..
Wonderful, thank you so much.
Great job sir... Which app you are using to see the picture in your tab....?
DaVinci Eye app
Thanks for making this video! Did you heat up the Chavant clay in this video? I just bought a chavant clay, my palms got sore the day after using it "raw"
Yeah sometimes I’ll heat it up so it’s softer. I don’t think I needed to for this project though.
@@AndrewJosephKeith thanks!

Me encanto ese video donde puedes girar 360 grados la foto, como lo hago?
Yo no mas tomo photos, muevo poquito, tomo otra foto, y así giro 360 grados tomando fotos. No es muy difícil no mas requiere tiempo.
Gracias voy a intentarlo
Sir how to take photo 360, I mean which app on Android?
I just take photos of the model slowly turning and then swipe between the photos.
@@AndrewJosephKeith Thank you sir, You are amazing.

what clay are you using?
Chavant nsp medium
@@AndrewJosephKeith alright thanks!!!
What the name the tool you use
I’m not sure what the name is but it was part of a set called “stainless steel carving tools” on eBay
Where did you find the reference
I make and sell the references of the eye, mouth, nose etc.
خیلی خوب درود برشما
Also the fictional characters will have real life proportions

I'm noticing less detail is more. I kept trying to thin out the eye lids and do very fine detailing but I end up just shredding the clay up lol
exactly.. Same shit here
Amazing
