I had a buck deer get my electric fence caught on his antlers.... 200 meter / yards just vanished ! Never did find it back. Somewhere...some got some free wire ! I have this similar situation on my farm.. pete bog........ I tiled it every 8 meters. Some of the best hay ground ever ! I was told you cant drain peat soils. I does work to place gravel over top the tile lines every 20 yards. Mine is seldom wet for more then 2 days. However sometimes its not possible to get the " fall " to drain those areas.
Perfect illustration of why the government isn't in food production. Each bale of slough hay would cost 10 times as much to make. Consumers have no clue how good they have it with regard to food supply. Bellyaching on a full stomach has become fashionable. One of the large grain merchants (Cargill) was asked why they don't purchase land and produce grain themselves instead of buying it. Simple answer. They could never produce grain for as cheap as independent farmers.
I cant agree on your costs.......Ive been farming for 40 some years with the same old equipment. Repairs over those 40 years... dont even come close to what your suggesting ???? Example...... My Deutz tractor is a 1989 model. Over the years other then oil changes...... Ive spent less then 3000 dollars... on air conditioning unit.... an air blower.....and two new tires. Thats it. Fuel cost... separate of couse.......but I can not get 1.6 gallons per hour through it under full load ! Same is true with my 7000 dollar disc bine. Replace the knives yearly Maybe (40 dollars ) ....... otherwise... no costs. It still looks like the day I bought it. And works the same too. Everything else.....Maybe your on target
Thank you for your input, you do not have to agree with my costs. This are my numbers. If I had a business consultant, they would consider my numbers are to low. I have to look what is would be to replace that tractor and when repairs happen. The cattle are needed to pay the bills. Those Deutz tractors are very good and efficient tractors.
Thanks for the great aerial shots starting at 13:49.

charged $20 per bale just to drop straw for a rancher . He still had to bale and haul. So still pretty cheap
What would you have to pay for the same quality hay delivered to your farm?
I had a quote from someone that sells straw, deliverd to the yard $50.00 per bale. I would think that the bales wiegh about 1300 to 1400 pounds.
Beavers....... cattle and beavers do not mix. To get rid of beavers..... introduce cattle !
