    I've only ever shot split finger until 3 years ago mainly for comfort since I shoot a lot. I still shoot and hunt with the Bear recurve I got 50 years ago. Way before all of the new terminologies and methods. Nice video, very good presentation.

      @@RT-wq8bd thank you! I’ve got an old bear polar 1953 and have taken 2 deer and a few rabbits with it. It was my papaws, and when my dad and uncle were kids they abused it. It still shoots perfectly and one of my favorite bows to shoot.

    WOW! Looks like a spitting image & exact mannerism of my younger brother but 20 years ago. Matthew, David & I used to go hunting & fishing together until older brother pasted on. I haven't pick up a bow since until a few months ago, I try both three under was better in a longbow & split fingers with fingers saver on my recurve bow. Both are one piece, I am old school, traditional archery & manual transmissions!

    Nice video. I started shooting 4 months ago after buying a few bows from flea market. I been shooting a ben Pearson 60"45# and upgrade to a sanlida royal x8 60"45#, and recently got a PSE shaman 60"45# takedown. I shoot 3 under and it feels good, i tried split finger but it doesn't feel right to me. I kept missing the target and my index finger blocked my line of sight. I'm more accurate that way, 3 under. Sort of, lol. I shoot everyday in morning and evening. Thanks

    I tried for a year shooting three under , just didn’t like it neither did my bow. I just put a little more pressure on my first finger and it takes some off the middle finger. It takes a little getting used to. Or try a tab for a while. But like you said do what’s right for you.

      I use to love to shoot a tab, but after last year when I switched to a glove it was crazy the difference of how much better I shot. I enjoy the glove more for hunting anyways, because if need be I can just shoot bare fingers or with normal gloves if it’s cold.

    you do know that when you switch between the 2 styles you also have to change the nocking point position, i have 1 bow set up for split and another setup for 3 finger other shoot instintive both style, and iam trying to learn gap but its a pain in the rear

    • @feelthespiritofthewild
      @feelthespiritofthewild  5 місяців тому

      @@KevinMillard68 yeah, I have the tie on knocks and you can twist em to move em up and down the string to change nock tune. I tried learning to shoot gap, but I’m so used to shooting instinctively that I fall apart trying to aim.

    Hey if you want to try out a good product, you should look into omnivores homestead and quivers tabs. They break in very fast, they are soft , but yet my fingers never hurt when shooting. Never know, you might love it.

    • @feelthespiritofthewild
      @feelthespiritofthewild  10 місяців тому +1

      I actually tried one and I loved it. The only problem is I’d dig my anchor into my face then it’d cause the string to slide across my face and scratch it. After about 30 shots it’d get pretty raw lol. I ended up losing it though I have no clue where I left it, but it’s a great tab.

    what are the arrows you're using? Are those Eastons?

    • @feelthespiritofthewild
      @feelthespiritofthewild  11 місяців тому +2

      Yep, Easton aluminums. I had a guy give me a bunch of old aluminum shafts. Most of them are those Easton hunters.

    I am very new to archery, but I am currently shooting 3 under. I notice that you cant your bow quite a bit which is something I also do. Is this a bad thing in your opinion?

    • @feelthespiritofthewild
      @feelthespiritofthewild  3 місяці тому

      @@WarpandXeno88 it depends on your preference. I shoot with a decent amount of cant in the bow, but sometimes when I’m hunting the position I’m in I may have to shoot straight up and down or with even more of a cant. It’s not a bad thing. It just depends on what makes you shoot better and what makes you feel more comfortable when you’re shooting. If you’re anchoring more on the outside of your face, the more you cant the bow it’ll get your eye over the arrow. So it’s all up to preference the reason I cant the bow is because it just feels natural with the way I grip the bow.

    3 under pulls more on the bottom limb, split works both limbs together

      A lot of custom bow manufacturers will ask if you shoot 3 under or split and tiller the bow accordingly. I believe most manufacturers build their bows for split.

  • @newplantosuceed

    I use 3 fingers under. I teach the kids 3 fingers under so they don't squeeze the nock and have the arrow keep falling off the rest. They get right to shooting with no frustration of the arrow falling off.

    5:48 Dude. Get a better glove, or nice tab and shoot split if you prefer. You WILL build callouses like I have. It won’t hurt then.

    Fuck 🤯🤯🤯 this cooks rhe the mond like meth if you dont have a clear mind.
    Focus on the spot
    X100
    Snap it
    Keep in mind split or 3u
    Make it fun and comfortable and consistent x1000
    Praxtice and accuracy will follow
    End of the day just drop as many strings as possible
    And have fun🎉🎉
    And my split release is quiter than 3 under
    But i really struggle with too muxh tention on the ring fingr 3 under, and i know its bad🤷🤯✝️🙏🏹💘
