We have a dump pile way in the back of leaf mold and other garden debris but poison ivy, Virginia creeper and wild raspberries have taken it over. They’re a huge nuisance here in RI. Today we created two ways closer to the garden and I’ve just ordered a tarp on Amazon per your recommendation. Hoping next year at this time we have some black gold!

Love my compost piles!!! I use leaves, grass clippings, and food scraps. I don't usually see worms in mine. Not sure why.
You need to use dirt as one of your layers:brown,green,dirt,scraps: repeat
Also, be sure that your pile is not too dry and not too wet. Turn it every so often also. 😊🌸
