- How To Remove and Replace a Car Dashboard (Removal) on a 2017 Subaru Forester. This video shows how to remove a dashboard on a Subaru Forester. 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 Subaru Foresters should be the same. In this video we cover taking out the complete dashboard, this include: removing the glove box, the speedometer removal, vent removal, center console removal, navigation removal, ac climate control cluster removal, various clips, screws, and plastics, dashboard speakers, the ashtray and cigarette power outlet, and the shift knob removal.
The installation part (2) of this video shows how to assemble a dashboard and put everything back in its place. The dashboard removal is easier than the installation because during the install some mounts come before others and the wiring has to be fished through the compartments. Check out both videos for the complete job and do it yourself if you are up for the challenge.

Great help on accessing the lower center panel below the radio. We just got 2018 Forester and it has aftermarket Alpine stereo. The USB port has a cable running out under the lower area under where the lighter.
My wife saw it and put the cable back into the hole made for it for to be dropped from the radio. Not knowing it was not supposed to be pushed in.
The cable was out of reach and this made for an issue as the Stock USB is not connected to the radio it seems. You video help see how easy it was to remove the parts need to access and fix this.

ugh... i put a screw on the dashboard top and it rolled into the defrost vent. every time i drive, i hear it rolling around inside. how do i get it out? thanks,

Sort of an unrelated question but is the dashboard assembly connected to the metal piece that the vin plate is on?, mine got damaged along with the dash and wondering if I would have to get a new dash to replace the vin and the metal strip that it’s on

There are always ten more screws. What a fucking disaster. Just leave the dashboard off and save yourself a giant waste of time.

Find plastic trims, that clip on/off , remove all that you can find , Then you can find screws and nuts exposed behind them from where rest of the dash comes off
