Normally I cannot tolerate stream snipers who make what them Holomembers want, to be sold out. But she took it in stride and can buy it off another website anyway so there is that.

Yeah, not the tako's fault, but not AmiAmi's poor programming too. Figurine stocks are quite limited. Hence holding items in the cart is harmful because the competitor or bad guy could exploit that feature by queueing as many items in the cart and never bought them, especially using multiple accounts. So I think it's not exactly a poor design. Cart items do not always have to be held. Good design should adjust with the business nature, and not blindly follows existing, different in nature, e-commerce.
@@Ken_neThT It's not that kind of limited, but surely it's not in a lot of number like selling books. Books are easier to maintain so you could stock up a lot and it would not take much space. On the other hand... figurine, statues, etc has high maintenance and its quality largely affect the demand. Hence, it's too risky to stock up in large amount. Yet, we have to consider that some of it would only have seasonal demand, let say when the anime is out. Don't you think it makes more sense to control your stock, rather than having lots of them in hand? There are reasons why most merch would utilize pre-order mechanism, and each household is limited to buy only one of them. It just makes sense to keep the business running with lower risk. It's how their business ecosystem is, and any system design should consider that aspect. Not that I understand their business thoroughly, but I just want to give you some perspective where you need to consider the business aspect to design a system. Though I would argue that you should always do that in any industries, and any company you're working with. Some industry are so common that you could simply follow the typical architecture, but that does not necessarily mean a design beyond that is a poor design. Glad that you share your perpective and thank you for the discussion Ken 🙏
There are cheaper ones, and you can learn about it from Ina's Guide to Figurine 101 ua-cam.com/video/oql0hGlHgQs/v-deo.html but yeah, generally, it's an expensive hobby

AmiAmi should've reserved one when you add it to cart. Not the Tako's fault. It's AmiAmi's fault lmao, poor programming
