Informative video. Quick question, why would you not consider Eldritch Battery, CI, and MoM with mana stacking build? Obviate need for node 10 in Ascendancy as well. I haven't played much of PoE or PoE2, so I'm poorly informed. But EB would seem like a massive increase to the mana pool as well?
I am actually using EB right now in the latest build video i've posted. the devs said they would disable EB pre-launch so I did not include it in this video guide but i guess they changed their mind
Honestly, I'm probably not going to take CI, I just think that stuns/freezes/electrocutes/shocks are going to be a bigger threat than chaos damage, and there seems to be no way to increase ailment threshold on the top of the tree. Also, I'm holding out hope that there's mechanics on unique items that let you reserve life for some kind of bonus, maybe a rework of Ivory Tower.
Hey mate, nice video. Sorry if I missed it, but you're not going to use Eldritch Battery and stack ES on items to redirect it to mana pool? You'll rather use energy shield as a first defensive layer (before mana)?
Both of these options are valid imo. I would love to scale block but we will have to see how available that stat is for sorc outside of a spell shield. Dual sceptres will always be strong offensively, if that feels needed
poe2skills have some out-of-date info, according to the Havoc video Pierce says: "Projectiles from Supported Skills deal 30% less Damage if they've Pierced an enemy" and faster casting doesn't have a downside. PoE2db is more up-to-date. Also, I don't think Lightning Storm exist in the most recent version
thanks for sharing! the mock gem setup at the end is really scuffed and i feel when we have fully transparent gem info, it will be much easily to make decisions on this. thankfully, gems don't dictate how we would gear or set up the passive tree, and poe2 also makes swapping gems and supports intuitive and easy! :D

What about mana regen and cost ? Even with the more mana regen rate of arcane surge you will probably not be able to cast spells on CD, specially if you're going for faster casting support and some increased cast speed in the tree/on weapon. For example in POE 1 the first mana recovery source with archmage was coming from the mana mastery: "10% chance to recover 10% mana when you use a skill" and the same on a watcher's eye which was synergizing very well with high cast speed. Without those type of mechanics i think it will be very difficult to overcome the added mana cost of archmage, at least if you only rely on mana regen for recovery. That being said maybe i am wrong and mana regen is busted (i really doubt that) or it will work if you're fine waiting for the mana before casting again.
You'll definitely want to be grabbing every bit of mana regen and reduce mana cost that you can, but I honestly think that you can reasonably get enough to make it work pretty well.
dude im actually so upset they dont have Spell Mana leech , im pretty mad that there is a pretty distinct lacking of ways to get "Mana on Hit/Mana Leech" because im trying to find a way to Do MoM ontop of Eldrich Battery. But with lacking ways to get mana back fast its pretty difficult to manage the Mana Tempest mana loss, ontop of Spamming my main spell, ontop of the MoM taking damage off of my mana, so idk mana stacking insane mana regen is the way i guess? Also i wasnt going to run Chaos Innoc but you made me think I might want to, but with only Mana as my effective life, but if my ES gets reverted into Mana and im scaling Mana, and Mana % and Int i think it could be pretty interesting.
im fully sure how these interactions will work but this is mostly a mock example of skill gems and not the main point of this video. i'll have a video on good support and gem setups once i get to actually try them out in game
What do you think about Eldritch Battery (now it turns all your ES to Mana ) in this build to add even more mana to the build ? Since we have MoM it will make us even more tanky no ? I want to try this build but with chaos damage and playing around impending doom since it deals damage in % of your mana
My biggest concern is sustain mana. Mana leech is gone. Can we get enough regen from spending ton of mana and also MoM takes 100% of the hits. Could get very clucky u lose all the mana from a hit and can’t cast the spell.
current character ended up having 700 mana regen, which is more than enough, and the build is pretty budget. i did opt to not go MoM and if i did, i would probably need inspiration support to compensate.

i havnt watched the entirety of that interview, but from what i did watch i thought he said they TESTED it as a prefix. do you have a link to a timestamp where he says it is currently a prefix?
in poe1 you can get well over 10k mana, but with poe 2, i would project probably closer to 3-4k mana. realistically I do not know the full extent of endgame gearing/scaling, but regardless we should easily be able to get to a point where our mana scaling is contributing a significant amount of damage and defense towards our character. i think alot of the nodes on the 'leaked' tree are outdated so its really hard to gauge stuff and some things i feel are 'i'll believe it when i see it in game' like the supposed 75% arcane effect leak
What I never understood in this game is why are builds divided into "starters/ mappers / boss killers etc." How does that work? I start with "starter build" and wtf do I do with it when I get to maps and bosses? I make another character or another build? I dont get that concept at all...
in this case, you would just scale your starter into a jack-of-all-trades beast that can do everything. some builds may be weak at certain aspects but this is not one of them.
So, PoE has leagues that are a fresh start (so you have nothing) so the starting character is one they can level fast and make money to buy any uniques or chase items to use on the actual build you want to play. Let’s say you wanted to make a boss killer character … that is not a good character for clearing maps where you can farm for things and make money… so you would pick a league starter that is fast and powerful and scales up with little to no investment… make money and buy the stuff you need for your boss killer. There are “all rounder” and “transition” builds that are great league starters that then can make money and invest in itself to scale damage and defense into endgame (maybe it doesn’t need chase items like mage blood, but scales up defenses or quality of life like speed with a mageblood) … the transition build is a league starter that makes money but is the same class but different ascendancy or build (so you don’t have to level another character). The point of all of this is what character do you want to actually play in endgame and what are your goals (mapping, boss killing, challenges, etc) all rounders seem like they would obviously be the easiest and smartest option but then people will have a mageblood or other expensive items on day 3 of the league and you will be like how did they do that?! And the answer is the fast strong low investment starter build. So why not just play that starter build in endgame game? Because it is really just good for making a lot of money fast at the start of the league and might be boring AF to play but it is just a means to an end and just 2 or 3 days or 5 days of playing it to get what you need to play the awesome cool hype build of the league that is insanely fun and powerful but needs expensive items to even work.
I was too hesitant to even show that leaked tree because its pieced together with screenshots that are from vastly different iterations of the beta. If we do get this its huge but I believe that alot of it could have old incorrect values. im so excited to see what we DO end up getting on friday! :D i wonder if the full tree may leak early?

I think mana stacker will work on multiple classes, but this one seems like a solid beginner friendly starter choice. It has so much regen baked into the ascendancy incase some of the cheese tech to recover mana gets hotfixed / does not end up feeling good.
Gemling is another good option, and may even be more powerful than stormweaver at endgame, but there's two notable downsides: 1. You're going to have to spend something like 30 points to path to the top of the tree. 2. Regen is significantly worse without the Stormweaver's arcane surge.
My understanding was ascendancy choices are not changeable. Multiple other CCs have said this. Anyone have a source that can confirm one way or the other?
MoM + CI doesn't that kill us? Dmg comes to Energy Shield first and then mana. So if Energy Shield is depleted but then we're dead right. I'm probably not seeing it correctly so if someone could clarify
@ EB is disabled on leaguestart for balance reasons according to the devs. If this changes I will update you guys asap. They may end up reworking that node into a different functionality, it’s anyone’s guess at this point in time.
@@Omnium-N1R0 bleeds can only be applied by hits that damage your life pool so with only 1 life the initial hit would technically kill you before the bleed could be applied

yes. EB does not even exist in poe2 at the moment, the devs have disabled it for launch.

ended up being fine for mana regen, 700 mana per second and still on a cheap budget.

23:33 u need to use Cast on shock as main skill, which means your Spell echo will support Cast on shock. or?

Isn't Lightning Storm the skill granted by the ascendency? I'm not sure if that's gonna be a skill gem as such.

Could we go Mana Stack on Gemling with the double effect of attribute node? Or the upsides of Sorc more worth?

Yeah that makes sense. I didn't realise it was only 2 Mana per point of Int, for some reason I assumed it would be much higher than that.

@@Badblood1711 this is a passive skill choice, not a base ascendancy choice. If u chose stormweaver you would not be able to change into chronomancer

If es is depleted u have mana to protect your 1 life
