Greys have a 75% chance for cancer . . . most people don't want to deal with the health complications and potentially having to put the horse down early. Those horses at the Auction were beautiful and went for a lot of money. But your little herd is every bit as beautiful and priceless. You are a very Blessed and rich horse mama indeed. ❤
Although prices seem high at these high quality sales, prices have dropped quite a bit in the last few years. Turner Performance Horses produce some extraordinary horses. They put them in every situation you can imagine and have some of the safest horses of quality. I actually bid on lot #5, because I missed him when he went through Triangle Sales before the Turner’s purchased him.
Scarlet is looking so good. And nice to see Ziggy happy with his little herd. Very healthy-looking horse at the auction but the prices... woooo $255,000?! 300,000?! Honestly, ALL of the horses were so gorgeous, for me though with any animal, I think personality, temperament and skills are way more important than the color of their coat:) Thank you for showing a "bouchée" horse sale too - it was interesting.
❤Studman❤ is such a handsome fella. Neat seeing his maybe-half-brother 😊 Glad Scarlet was hive free by end of day! Hope the smoke clears soon - preferably after a nice rain!
Thanks for a very nice day at the auction. For once it was the kind that did not make you worry about the condition of the horses. This was a joy to watch!
While I’ve not been around horses much I love watching your daily activities with your horses and the special events such as this auction. There were certainly gorgeous horses there, I love your cast of characters💕
Thanks for taking us along, CC! It's fun to see a high-end auction but it makes me happier to see your herd and Princess Tiny! Watching from British Columbia. ❤
Those horses at the auction were definitely beautiful examples of equines…but I prefer your boys and girls and their relationships with you and each other. I can’t wait to see how they all mature and “learn the ropes” from you and your expertise as a wrangler of horses.
Same here, exactly. I’m a cat lady too and it tickles me tremendously when I catch a glimpse of her. I have started to call my own cat “tiny” as an endearment.
Thank you for taking us along to see how the other part of the population lives.😂 Gorgeous horses, but my little 14.2h Mustang mare that I paid $25 bucks for 16yrs ago is just as gorgeous. I will always be one of those people who refuse to believe you have to pay lots of money for a really good horse. Imagine all the horses the cost of that one horse, at $300K, could buy, be retrained and sold to forever homes.
Just fascinating! This whole world of horses, is intriguing, so much to learn and know. I really enjoy following you, your herd and all your adventures🌺

It's funny because you're right that little girl knew how to ride and had the horse she was showing do some pretty neat maneuvers but from the point of view of an english style rider she looked as if she was about to fall every time the horse stopped. And the next rider if I had been hunched over like that my instructor would have had a fit and told me I was riding like a toad on top of a tiny matchbox :p Different looks for different riding styles obviously.
I did not grow up around horses, but with every horse at the auction I was thinking that your horses look just as good or better. And those auction horses don't have such an awesome Horse Mama!
Thumbs up everyone! Terrific journey through, CC, this very high priced horse auction. All of the horses looked to be in great shape. I cannot fathom riding/steering a horse around in circles repeatedly as the rider did who held out her arms. I thought the horse would get dizzy and wondered what horses think of humans encourgaging horses to engage/perform such antics. Well, your horses are picture perfect. So glad to see Ziggy with the other horses. And thank you for showing their names intially. Ziggy, Pete, Prim, and Nigel stand out due to their size/coloring. Another great video. Cheers from balmy New England.
Your site has got me interested in the history of horses. I watched Nat Geo Nature. Did you know the American horse was first found in Pryor Mts. Montana. That is the Mustang. The Morgan was initiated on the east coast. There is a Vermont Morgan Farm at University. The Nez Indian tribe moved their herds of Appaloosa during the Indian war and they were all were slaughtered afterward, luckily a rancher was holding horses for ChiefJosep. Thetraditional herds of Appaloosa (sp), we’re named after a site called Paloosa . The Quarter horse is the fourth American breed. Highly valued as a ranch working horse. They have been bred to chase cows. I fell in love with the Morgan. But all are beautiful and of interest there is a Wells Fargo ride where forces are ridden at speed on the original route, these are Mustangs.
Thanks for this, I love learning more history and will look up more. I knew about the Morgan Farm near Middlebury College, VT but not the Morgan’s history. The Palouse is a beautiful regions of eastern WA. Google will usually bring up “seven wonders of WA state” if you do a search on “Palouse.” Thanks again.

Oh and a nice blue roan! Love them! My neighbor had a BEAUTIFUL blue/black roan quarter horse mare. She's so sweet! With that round quarter horse butt!
These prices are nearly incomprehensible to me. The entire lifestyle of the people in attendance must be insanely extravagant to have budgets like that. I've worked around horses almost my whole life. Began mucking stalls 8 for literally only 50 cents per weekend (1998, so not like waaay back when). My first horse was what I thought was expensive (2200... and that was a few years of saving every penny from every odd job) and he was decently started. Then I bought a mentally messed up TB for a dollar. Then just fostered auction rescues. I was a stable hand and groom and catch rode and schooled ponies in the New England hunter-jumper world (where people would pay upwards 20-80k for a horse or pony for only a season or two and then resell, which also blew my mind), worked at a dressage barn, a cutting farm (that heavily featured Peppy and Doc lines).... I know a good ranch horse is worth their weight in gold.... but in the past few years, even grade unpapered horses are going for over $25k. I wonder what the sharp rise in average price is caused by. (I know the racing industry is outrageous and the AQHA incentive fund and futurity stuff boggles the bank accounts, but still....)
I just love to watch horse reactions to you! Your own horses are so in tune with you that each one approaches you with picked ears and complete, soft eyed trust. And here, at the auction, you seem to get a similar reaction from horses you don't even know! I believe you really are the Horse Whisperer!
I have had a few horse's in my time, most were given to me because the owners couldn't keep them or just didn't want them. The most I have ever paid for a horse was $1100.00. she was perfect for my daughter. I could not imagine paying as much for a horse as I paid for my house.
I paid $150. for my first horse in 1961, when I was 12yo. At that time a 50lb bale of timothy was 35 cents. The most I ever spent on a horse was 4K in 1977. He was an OTTB that was started as a Hunter/Jumper and became my first serious Event horse. After that I was breeding TBs and TB crosses, so I competed on my home bred horses. Some years later I realized that it makes a lot more sense to buy unstarted two and three-year-olds. Breeding, raising, training and then selling a horse for 10K - you lose money on that deal, and you don’t know exactly what kind of horse you’re going to get until you’ve trained it. Even knowing the bloodlines isn’t a sure bet that you’ll get the horse you want.
depends on the market, where I live you can get an auction horse for a couple hundred bucks, train it up to sent for finishing and people will pay a good 15k+ for them. Heck even dead-broke kids ponies are almost 10k now. Draft crosses and mules are trendy right now, so breeding them is getting more popular
Thank you for taking us along, it was very interesting to see the sale. And it’s so nice to see all of your horses 😊 Ziggy with his little herd - and of course gorgeous Nigel 😅 Tiny needs to be in every video - so nice how you have been greeted back at the stable.
What I know about horses: They are magnificent.😊 I love them. 🥰 Your herd is glorious. They are so loved and nurtured and respected. My favorite color has always been dapple gray; I think it imprinted from a deck of cards as a child 😂 You and your channel are wonderful 🤗
Thank you for taking the time to explain so much, and I like the horses names showing in the corner. I am trying to identify who is who, and once in a while the names helps. I love your little herd also and glad you share them with all of us!
Me too. They have not the love or CC's patience nor the skilled insight. To address the quirks of each fancy horse you will need your. kidneys will ( need both ) as time goes on. My precious course ground school instructor said many times " i may not have the caliber of horses i want. But these are what i have. I have schooled each one. They are gentle and not anxious. I respected her outlook. She was not a show off. Just the opposite. Her horses were beautifully cared for, fed according to their needs nutritionally, trimmed every 6 weeks, vetted regularly. She noticed the small things about each horse that needed attention. She made her own training gear and taught her students how to make halters and longlines. When i made mistakes she was patient with our knots and we backed out of the mistakes to start over. I still have the rope halters and long lines. Learning the skills gave all of us a sense of accomplishment. Sarah trained with Ned Leigh. A well known man from AZ . He moved to Ok. A few years ago. He has the luxury of lake water there. Something we all miss in the high desert plains. ❤
I’m not a horse person and I hope you can answer my question. Many of these ,well most of them, sold for well over what the average person could afford. And no one needs to justify on how they spend their money in my opinion. What confuses me is why so many of the geldings sold for so high. They can’t be bred (unless there’s a process that I’ve never heard of). Mares at least can be bred if the owner wanted. There are hundreds of horses that could be trained to the level of skill that these were, that have the same sweet kind temperament and that are just as beautiful. Maybe it’s just me but I’m having a really hard time wrapping my head around these prices and maybe I’m just cheap. Well I am and I’ll admit it…lol. Do people take out loans for the purchase of horses like these?
@@M.KathleenDougharty I wondered the very same thing. It’s not like these high-priced horses will ever be racehorses. I think - someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Those horses at the Auction were beautiful and went for a lot of money. But your little herd is every bit as beautiful and priceless. You are a very Blessed and rich horse mama indeed. ❤
It's nice to see Wimpy bred horses still getting good prices
Although prices seem high at these high quality sales, prices have dropped quite a bit in the last few years. Turner Performance Horses produce some extraordinary horses. They put them in every situation you can imagine and have some of the safest horses of quality. I actually bid on lot #5, because I missed him when he went through Triangle Sales before the Turner’s purchased him.
I did see a few of these horses for sale within the last sale year. One of them even sold for LESS money at this sale!
Those prices are absolutely crazy! Makes me appreciate my little herd too ❤️
Idk much about horses but your herd is beautiful and so lucky to be loved. You take such good care of them. Love your channel. Thank you.
I love your videos. I don't have horses and probably won't in this life. I really enjoy your commentary.
While I’ve not been around horses much I love watching your daily activities with your horses and the special events such as this auction. There were certainly gorgeous horses there, I love your cast of characters💕
That was great! Each auction, no matter how high or low, presents lots of learning opportunities. Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks for taking us along, CC! It's fun to see a high-end auction but it makes me happier to see your herd and Princess Tiny! Watching from British Columbia. ❤
Thanks CC. It was fun to see all those horses at the auction, but the most fun was when you came back home to your horses and Tiny. ❤️
Those horses at the auction were definitely beautiful examples of equines…but I prefer your
boys and girls and their relationships with you and each other.
I can’t wait to see how they all mature and “learn the ropes” from you and your expertise as a wrangler of horses.
Always glad to see Miss Tiny! Yes, I know the video is supposed to be about the horses, but being an old cat lady, I'm happy to see the kitties too.
👍👍
Same here, exactly. I’m a cat lady too and it tickles me tremendously when I catch a glimpse of her. I have started to call my own cat “tiny” as an endearment.
another Tiny fan here 😊❤
I probably couldn’t afford a beer in the bar at that horse auction
I could honestly watch horses fo hours, and I love CC's insightful commentary. These horses were so beautiful!!
Thanks for another adventure into the horse world. Extra prayer for my guy Nigel. Ziggy little herd is perfect. Appreciate you so much, CC.
Thanks for letting us visit with your herd and Tiny before the field trip! 😊 I’ve missed these guys! Totally in love with Whiplash and Pete ❤😊
Stunning horses...Staggering prices!....your herd is priceless...🐎
Thanks for taking us along and yes you do have a wonderful herd of special horses
I love your channel and your voice over is so soothing. I usually get to watch you first thing in the morning and it’s calming. Thank you for putting yourself out here on UA-cam. I am SO happy you are almost at 100K subscribers!!! Go Team CC!!! 😁
I just want to say I love your horses too!! Of course 300k horses are beautiful but your horses know you love them.. even Goose❤
WOW!! Gorgeous horses!!😍 that was fun! Thanks for taking us along CC!!!❤️🥰
It's funny because you're right that little girl knew how to ride and had the horse she was showing do some pretty neat maneuvers but from the point of view of an english style rider she looked as if she was about to fall every time the horse stopped. And the next rider if I had been hunched over like that my instructor would have had a fit and told me I was riding like a toad on top of a tiny matchbox :p
Different looks for different riding styles obviously.
I like the "toad on a tiny matchbox" 😊 - it reminds me a lot of when my mum used to call that position "like a monkey on a grindstone" ☺.
@@pretzel2272 Oh that's a good one too ! :)
I did not grow up around horses, but with every horse at the auction I was thinking that your horses look just as good or better. And those auction horses don't have such an awesome Horse Mama!
That was fun! Thanks for taking us😊
Big love to you and all the fur kids from the land down under ❤🇦🇺
It’s soo great to see ziggy with friends ❤
The price for geldings is crazy! Wow!
Always great to go on a roadtrip with you.

These prices must be discouraging for so many people. It’s a bit of a shame. Gorgeous horses.
I agree. Its expensive enough to care for a horse properly. So many loving caring homes being priced out of quality horses
Watching the horse sale was educational and informative, but for me the absolute BEST segment of your video was watching the response from your herd when you simply called them to "come and get it!" The love and affection they all displayed for you is impossible to express and wonderful to behold. Thanks for sharing! ❤ Texas Tenderfoot
I love it that you are putting the names of the horses up. T ry as I might I can't always distingish the different horses. You are getting better and better with your videos. I love watching your work with the horses, your commentary, all of it. I find that watching your videos is very calming for me. Thanks so much. Namaste'
Loved tagging along on this adventure!
As fun as it is to see things/animals/places that I will never own, I'm always happy to return to the reality of what I do have, warts and all.
Humility has been my long time teacher and I sleep very well at night too. 💚
Second comment at the end “there is no place like home with a lovely family”. I hope you keep Ziggy.
Oh and a nice blue roan! Love them! My neighbor had a BEAUTIFUL blue/black roan quarter horse mare. She's so sweet! With that round
quarter horse butt!
I’m sure your little heard are grateful for you. I love what you do and how you care for them 🐎 ❤
These prices are nearly incomprehensible to me.
Amazing $300,000!!! Thanks for taking us along.
What I know about horses:
They are magnificent.😊
I love them. 🥰
Your herd is glorious. They are so loved and nurtured and respected.
My favorite color has always been dapple gray; I think it imprinted from a deck of cards as a child 😂
You and your channel are wonderful 🤗
Thank you for taking the time to explain so much, and I like the horses names showing in the corner. I am trying to identify who is who, and once in a while the names helps. I love your little herd also and glad you share them with all of us!
Holy, Palominos, Batman -- 10+ What gorgeous horses. Thanks for this CC :)
Your comment should have more likes !
Wow CC, You're on fire ! Anxious to watch your new video! ; ))
Your knowledge and experience are impressive.
I love when you go to the auctions it really shows the range of horses and prices.
Wow, how have so many people got that kind of cash to splash on a horse?! That’s blows my mind 😮 great video!
It does make the mention of ‘HEROES AND HORSES for veterans’ a sad tale of generosity. ❤🩹
Loved your comment at the very end about being happy with your little herd. Great review of the action at the auction.
It would be great if you could do a video explaining what counts as good body conformation for those of us who aren't horse people
I LOVE a pretty gray! Dappled or points don't matter! I just love them. But form follows function. Horses and dogs. Color is just a plus.
Really enjoyed seeing the other end of the spectrum! 😳 Beautiful horses. I think your horses are beautiful too!
I'm very happy to know that at least one other person works so well with horses.
JillAxford, it's so nice to learn from the wonderful comments like yours!
@@M.KathleenDougharty @clevercowgirl I hope that one of these million-dollar-horse-buyers will fund CC's new ranch, just because they can.
@@M.KathleenDougharty I wondered the very same thing. It’s not like these high-priced horses will ever be racehorses. I think - someone correct me if I’m wrong.
hugs to all the horses CC
Thanks for the video! I would feel soooo out of place at a fancy sale like that haha - really fascinating to see though ❤
Very fancy, but the people were very nice!
When the Beatles played for the Royal Family John Lennon said, "For our last number, I'd like to ask your help. Would the people in the cheaper seats clap your hands. And the rest of you, if you'll just rattle your jewelry." 😎
