Congratulations! T hat looks great. I usually don't like sewing with linen because it is harder to get the seams straight to sew. I wouldn't worry about yours.

That is great to know Marilyn. I have never sown linen before. I know how it's make and spun into yarn but have never done this. It is a bit tricky. The nice thing is, I have learned that if I make another apron, it will not be linen. I think I would like to use muslin or duck cloth. That will help me learn something new. I just love this apron style because I can add pocket for the garden walks and it has not extra strings. Thanks for being kind about my sewing straight. I think the more I practice, the better I will get. Or at least that is the therory, right? lol

I love it!!!!! I've been machine sewing since 1951 (I was 5, sneaking my mother's portable machine) and I have yet to make one of these aprons! I have been searching for good photos and watching videos of making these for a couple of years, though! I love it! You did well!!! Linen is such lovely stuff and if you just wash and dry, it becomes a most comfortable fabric!

I bought this little brother I have here from Walmart just to sew on plastic cereal liners. Then it was paper ruffles and now it's all kinds of things except for material. I did the apron to save my clothes from looking like a Jackson Pollack painting. Linen is kinda slippery to sew on. I have not washed it yet. The lady at the fabric store said that it gets better the more you wash it and it's very strong material. I sure hope so! I hope you are doing well. Did you see Karla did a catch up video the other day??

@@MessyTableStudio No, I've not seen her video yet! Linen is softer when you wash it... and lovely for summer pants! I stopped ironing mine and they were more cozy! My machine is fancy - does machine embroidery, too! I have had more problems with fancy machines, though! Sewing does kind of sneak up on you! I started out with doll's clothes by hand when I was 3, was sneaking the portable when I was five and when I was 9, I made my first dress! :D That was a while ago. ;) I have made a whole lot of aprons for clothing protection. Years ago my kitchens had that nasty aluminum trim and that stuff gave me a gray stripe around my middle - even when I was skinny. I made a lot of a cobbler-style aprons out of cute printed terry-cloth. I wore the pattern out. I haven't seen that kind of fabric for decades. They were perfect!

Miss Vickie, I am floored! First, I was just thinking: for someone claiming not to know anything about sewing, she sure is talking the talk. Then you proceeded to take off and 'get 'er done'. If not for the parts where someone was bad-mouthing the instructor, this would make a fine instructional video. I am soooo very proud of you! I love to sew and have since junior high but can't find the time to do all of the crafting that I would like. Right now I am crocheting watch caps. Something about fall that makes me need to have yarn in my lap. Anyhow, You have inspired me to get out the old Singer and let fly. Your project looks just as professional as some of your other awesome artwork. I hope to see more of your work as you build your confidence. Just Keep Swimming Miss Vickie! You knocked this one out of the park.

I really only know what I had learned in the 11th grade from high school. Seriously that is all I know. I used to sew just basic curtains every place we lived while in the Navy. Other than that, no other sewing. Thank you for being proud of me. I paid way money for that linen than I should have, but I have about half a yard left and will make something else with it later when I decide to sew again. Good on you for doing watch caps. I know when I started back knitting on a regular a basis, watch caps were very popular for people to knit and donate. Bless you for doing them. I will start back knitting here when it gets into the 70s or 80s. We are in the nineties here daily and that does not inspire me to knit or crochet anything as of late. Thanks for being so supportive Thilda. I really do appreciate it!

Now you know this silly goose is not putting her caboose on camera wearing that apron.

I have yet to leave it in the pocket. I always forget. My cell usually sits on the desk or on the charger.

@@kymclinton3140 Very good reason not to have the pocket on the front. The apron did have two pockets in the pattern but I didn't think I would use them, and didn't make them. The next one I make, will have the two side pockets. Live and learn.
