It's very nice, but even if this is just for fun, I would never trust that pressure vessel in the long run. You can't take chances with pressurized air. Even at modest pressures, failures can be catastrophic.
I think this is more like a showpiece. It demonstrates how an actual air compressor works, but other than that, I won't trust those super glue joints under pressure.

Very cool. I would recommend using PVC cement instead of CA glue for that pressure vessel (or just using an off-the-shelf one). CA glue will bond it together, but PVC cement is a solvent, and will physically weld the plastic together into one piece.

Though I have 3 remarks: 1) it doesn't look like radiator ribs made of PVC actually help with cooling the thing; 2) switching tyre valve at 10+hz is not what is was designed for, expect reduced lifetime. And 3) have you heard of Titan submarine disaster? This DIY tank gives me the same vibes. You just don't know when its structural integrity is compromised and when it will explode. I really think a large cola bottle would be more reliable.

And when glueing layers of PVC to build thickness, wouldn't it be stronger to add glue to the surfaces as well as edges to have a more complete bond? lovely little compressor and well executed, one reservation, the pressure vessel, plastic suffers from what is known as "creep stress", this is were the plastic deforms under use , returns to shape at rest, and like any materials there are only so many cycles available, only with plastic it does,nt always return to origin, meaning , you stretch i9t, stretch it a little more and so on until it no longer stretches and fails , just be aware that PVC has no real pressure capacity.
great work as always, if atleast the piston and bore with heat exchanger thins were metal or aluminium, so it can dissipate heat, with a teflon seal instead of rubber, that will be a real compressor. due to pvc as we know changing shape at very low temps and soaking it all in, transferring it to the rubber seal, for that size pump, its not efficent at all, I think the pvc and rubber is warping and too much air is escaping.

for any peoples complaining about safety with pvc tubes those plastic are really hard at such thickness not to mention his pressure is max 2.5 bar yes it might be not that safe but if you swap the super glue with jbl 2 component glue which they advertise to have like 1000+ psi tensile strength i think it might be doable to be 100% safe even at 5 bar if we except the pvc material
Just to let you know that all this kind of devices need a drain in the lower part of the tank. Compressed air is always achieved with a certain amount of water, and you must provide a way to get rid of it, now and then.
Very cool but you forgot a water drain valve on the bottom of the tank to be able to drain condensate from the compression-expansion cycle. This normally substitutes for the manual pressure release valve you have on the top of the tank.
This is not just an industry...it is a masterpiece that deserves the ingenuity of its invention...You deserve respect, appreciation and support 👍

True, as PVC aka Polyvinylchloride tends to crack and shatter, whereas plastic will stretch.
