Thank you so much for this video. I went to do a deep repair on my ps4 bdp-010 literally had is since it came out. I had to get a new fan do a good cleaning and get a new disc drive. I ordered the bdp-020 not knowing i needed the 010 im returning this to Amazon tomorrow and buying yours before Monday

I did indeed not buy the right disc drive (Needed 020 and bought 025) without this video i would not have thought about replacing the pcb

FIX NON READING DISCS THE EASY WAY.
The fan is circulating dust from the inside of your PS4 and telling the system that the disc is dirty. I almost took my ish apart but my PS4 has been just fine ever since I cleaned it 3 days ago. Get a very small flat head driver and just clean the vents on the sides of the PS4 top and bottom, making sure to blow through vents from front to back and dig that crap out. My 2 discs load every time now no problem and its so much quieter now too.
Thanks a lot for the free information, bought the right disc drive and I’m ready to try and fix the problem I’ve been having with my PS4, discs don’t eject or go in properly and I hear this weird noise almost like skipping when the disc is in, then an error that disc can’t be read, fingers crossed that simply replacing the whole disc drive will fix everything, hope there’s nothing wrong with the logic board itself

Thanks for the help, I installed a new drive today with this video. Thanks! Sadly it didn't fix my issue though :( I feel I have tried everything...basically my PS4 won't take or eject disks. It plays them fine though no issues. Just won't eject or take a Disk. I have to use manual screw everytime. Took a dive on replacing the drive but bad luck me lol
Has your ps4 had any other problems?
@@ICEBAM73 no, it still plays games etc, jut the disk drive won't take or eject.. and that's with a new disk drive in too! Weird eh!
@@ssspookies yea I've been having the same problem but with the add on of my console refuses to update to I cannot play online :/. And I just tried I different disc drive today and it didn't work so hearing about your new disc drive not working, makes me think I may need to take my friend up on his offer and have him send me his spare ps4 pro

I did this on mine. Replaced the disc drive and used my old board. Bdp-020 which was on both boards. Still get the code. Checked all the ribbons. They were good. Im at a loss.
Its most likely due to an issue with the disc drivel logic board.
I just changed my whole disk drive out because it wouldn't read or eject/ insert but once I switched the logic bored over it still wouldn't eject but it is at least working now.

bevo check the disc drive cables and make sure you didn’t accidentally swap your logic board. Replace the disc drive data cable if possible

Hey guys I have a ps4 with a non working disc drive the case says CUH 1001a but the logic board says BDP-020 did someone put in a different logic board?

Check the underside of the console. There should be a model number. But as this guy said that’s not always the case (?)

My question is.. if I have to use my old BPD 025 from my PS4 and attach it to my new replacement drive, why did it come with its own bpd 025 chip??
Also, every time I play a disc I get error ce-30005-8 but I’m able to load the game anyways after exiting from the error message??
That is because you need to use the same logic board (what you referred to as a a 'chip) that was attached to your old disc drive.
