You finally came to your senses. Standing up, you find yourself in your zen garden at night, you must've hit your head pretty hard earlier today. You appeared to have fell backwards on a ladder earlier. You look over at your plants. They're not alive. You swear you had just been defending your house against a zombie apocalypse. A feeling of relief washes over you as you rub your head in pain. There was no zombie apocalypse. You check your phone, all your friends and family are probably asleep by now. You want to text them, to call them, just to tell them you love them. You thought you had lost everything, everyone to the zombie apocalypse, and was destined to continuously defend your house with your plant-based weaponry. But it was all a bad concussion-enduced nightmare. That can wait until tomorrow. Boy, will you have an interesting story to share with them!
You look at your plants in your zen garden, just existing motionlessly as plants should. Your peas, your sunflowers, your jalapenos, your cabbages, and all the rest, silently thanking them for their sacrificial service, quite literally coming alive to defend you in your time of need. In your frontyard, in your backyards, even on your roof, no matter the hour, they were there to quite literally give up their lives for you. No, you're not tearing up over plants, are you? In your heart, you vouch to tend to your garden and care for them for the rest of your days.
