Trigger warning death
My grandma died in a power outage and the only way we had enough light to be with her was with this flash light. We even listened to gospel on the am radio. It really made that horrible night of the storm bearable.

I just recently got it from amazon. For outdoor usage as its solar powered features. Nice to have little gadget.
Back in my day Power outage kits use to just be batteries with a regular flashlight standard beach radio, matches, candles and we would swap out the cordless phone for the ancient corded rotary phone. Nowadays its powerbanks, halo bolts , all in 1 radios and for people who really can't stand it, gas guzzler generators.
I just bought it got it the next day and it worked fine sthraight out of the box

I always say with motor vehicles you need another car or a battery to jump start in the cold weather
so why don't they have a crank on the front like they used two have decades ago and you there for wouldn't need to go round and beg your neighbour for a jump start on a cold morning you could then keep the crank iron in the boot of the car 🚗 snuggled next to your Jack

I am from Puerto Rico and preparing my household.
Full charge would take about 2 hours of cranking at a constant speed of 60-100 cranks per minute.

I got mine in 2012, I just pulled it out of the box cause we have a power outage and this thing is not workin AT ALL, because it has no need for battery, I never thought it would become dysfunctional, I was so upset it won't work
Like any battery you need to have power to stay operative. If you don't use it its no good.

That's the nature of lithium batteries. You need to fully charge them at least twice a year or they'll become completely depleted.
Or just get a radio that can also take AA batteries.

Nice unit. Keep it dry and in a bag where the light can keep it charged but dirt and dust wont ruin it. Don't use it as a charger. They sell solar chargers for that.

Ahh..always garbage in quality..good idea but thats why theyre $23 ..they should make a good one and charge more but let it work like things used to..
Try putting batteries in it..if the batterys completeley dead it may not come back up with the crank or solar..its for an emergency only works a few times if your lucky when you need it

Ah, interesting. I suppose that makes sense. I wonder if there are parts of the US where you can't get the weather band signal too. It is pretty nice when you need it though.

I'm Bought a similar one , Mine using 18650 lithium battery as storage battery have 3 AAA battery compartment for emergency charging and have a handcrank dynamo and SOS alarm and radio FM/AM/SW1/2 , torch light , solar cell.. I'm thinking to get a USB to micro short wire put in AAA battery compartment and make one FM mic transmitter can power by USB ..
I think it would be interesting if add a FM mic which can power from USB so make this unit become a walki-talkie .
18650mah is a scam. It’s probably a 300mah battery inside. I openned mine up and I think it was 800mah

Yeah, it's supposed to be 2,000 mAh, just be sure to check your devices mAh's and it should tell you if it will charge fast or slow. The more mAh's, the more it's gonna take longer, like a tablet. Usually, smartphones are very recommended.

Yh but this is pure rubbish. Without gears you’d be going round and round tirelessly to produce a mere 5w max. That’s going to take like 3h of straight cranking to charge your phone a decent amount and half of the time your phone will reject the charge if you don’t crank constantly
