Seeing Ariel's face was super jarring. Dingo never made a Little Mermaid adaptation (from what I've seen) but they still managed to screw with it.
Yeah, especially with how the art style changes on that one face copied shot too.
Who needs Dingo to screw with it, when Disney is hellbent on doing that themselves.
though you have to admit, this is quite amitious for Dingo standards.

also since you're a Resident Evil fan, Rigotti played Leon Kennedy in the remake of RE2, while Claire was voiced by Emanuela Pacotto, who also voiced Bulma.

Reminds me of something from Zelda: Wind Waker. In the Puppet Ganon boss room, there's a pool of water on the floor that reflects everything perfectly... Except Link, who doesn't show up at all. This is a game that got distortion of objects near the horizon due to the curvature of the Earth right, but they couldn't do that.

I like how not just baby, but _infant_ Perseus is walking pretty well at 7:36 while he has inner monologue and thoughts that he couldn't possibly have. XD
The animation looked way too good for Dingo's standards. Probably why they didn't like it.

Some of the character animations aren't nearly as choppy as their other work.

I mean their other films are just have bad animations because there's only one guy who did the animation and i think they're completely in the rushed to do they have more movies to make in production
And there is other animator who did the animation by just one person like edd Gould i mean he created eddsworld and he did the animation with good visuals and some other stuff and his friends are voice actors

In Spain these crappy Dingo "movies" also got pretty decent dubbing from known voice actors, but then again this country has dubbed shit that I've never seen anywhere else. I know because I grew up watching a lot of 1€ movies and I even recall liking Dingo animation as a kid because I thought it was made by other children (kinda insulting for the children, now that I think about it).

It's a good thing Phelous has alot of friends who can translate these kinds of movies or else we'd never get such "gems."
I agree completely. I had watched Power 5 with a group of friends without subs a few months before Phelous did his video on it. When he released the subbed video on his website afterward we all had to gather and watch it again. Not that the subtitles helped clarify much. It was still an insane mess, but its awesome that he put them out there.

This story gets even more messed up when you take into consideration that, in most versions of the myth, Medusa was an innocent priestess who was raped by Poseidon and cursed by Athena because she "allowed" it to happen in Athena's temple.
And then her sisters were cursed as well because they had the _audacity_ to stand up for their recently assaulted younger sibling.

Deluxe Paint was the premier paint program for Amiga computers back in the day, which makes me suspect that they made this on Amiga computers.
I recall Athena giving Perseus that shield in the myth, as well as Hades giving his helmet of Invisibility in the actual myth. But I guess in the Dingo Cinematic Universe, the gods only did favors for Hercules.

As well as the sickle of Hermes (Kronos in other versions) In the original film Clash of the Titans, Zeus has Hephaestus just make some magic weapons for him.

That's exactly how it was in the myth.
Know what makes it worse? Medusa was cursed to be a gorgon because Poseidon raped her and Athena was upset it happened in her temple.

@@unicornbarfingrainbows7599 Hades was okay. There aren't any stories of him cursing anyone that I'm aware of and he could be super reasonable as long as you followed the rules.
There was the issue of him kidnapping Persephone, but if you know Greek culture, he did all the things that the culture required of him to actually have the right to marry her, so the whole situation is really more a problem with the culture than with him specifically. Plus, he was under no obligation to let her go back to Olympus, but chose to do so because Demiter was killing the whole Earth in her anger.

@@Pablo360able In both the movies and the original myth, killing Medusa is just means to an end; in the movies, it's the only way to save an innocent person from a monster, and in the myth it's to save his mother from being raped by an evil king.
@@Pablo360able According to the ancient Greeks, ugliness was indeed a sign of evil, or at least of not being valued by the gods. But of course, if you were *too* hot, the gods would curse you for making them look bad. To the Greeks, the gods were all assholes. Hades was consistently the best of them all, and it shows in several versions of the Hades/Persephone myth, even from ancient record, having the binding pomegranate be their legalese defense to allow Persephone to stay with Hades, whom she genuinely loved.
I don’t remember it offhand, but there’s a story of a Grecian prostitute who was accused of blasphemy. Her defense was to strip naked before the court, the argument being that if she had truly profaned the gods they wouldn’t let her continue to be so freaking sexy. She was found not guilty.
Dingo was obviously tamer in its early days. The Dingo that had Janis the piglet accidentally take part in cannibalism would never have cut a golden shower innuendo.

Little correction: Ajax was voiced by Diego Sabre while Perseus was voiced instead by Alessandro Rigotti (Sasuke Uchiha from Naruto), also italian Phineus is Patrizio Prata (Android 17) and the donkey at 11:30 is Claudio Moneta (Zarbon in DBZ, Cooler in the 2 DBZ movies, plus in the recent DB Super is the new voice actor for Goku since the orginal one passed away in 2005).

Dingo's Perseus actually came out in 1992, a vhs copy of the German version was uploaded shortly after I had finished this review, because updated info always has to show up shortly after you finish talking about it, haha. I'll mention the new info in one of the next Dingo vids.
I wonder if the next one you'll do will be Siegfried. BTW Legocart (the distributor of the Italian Perseus DVD, no relation to Lego) also put out an Italian dub of that film.

I recently did a project on Medusa at school, I learned her backstory, and how dark it gets. She was born a beautiful woman, then she was raped by Poseidon when he saw her praying at one of Athena’s temples. Athena was angry, understandably, and since she couldn’t do anything to Poseidon, being a god and all, she cursed Medusa instead, turning her into the ‘monster’ we knew her. It’s a pretty tragic story. Then the Perseus thing happened.
Actually, that is the more popular Ovid version of the story. In much older versions of Madusa she was born a Gorgon like her sisters.
It's so beautiful hearing Phelous talking about our voice actors❤ Diego Sabre and Federica Valenti are actually good at their job though, i wonder how much were they paid to dub this crap. Also the narrator is Stefano Albertini (commander Black, Recoome, Spopovitch and South King Kai's voice), Phimeus got Patrizio Prata's voice (Android 17, teen Goten in GT) and the talking donkey is voiced by Claudio Moneta (Tenkaichi announcer, Zarbon, Cooler and more recently Goku/Black Goku in our DBS dub) so yeah an italian Dragonball voice actors reunion indeed :^)
Claudio Moneta also voiced Spongebob and Arthas in Warcraft III.

And Zeus knows how freaking vengeful Hera is, and yet he still screws all these women, basically dooming them and their children for a lifelong torment by Hera.

Don't you just love that in this movie, same as in the original myth too, Medusa was living with her sisters in a very hard to reach place, not bothering anyone? It's not like our hero has to save the local town from her, no, she just kills her to prove how badass he is. Classy.

So weird to see Dingo Pictures TRY to attempt actual animation in any of their films. I'd say it feels like there was a downgrade in their later films, but that would imply there was any upgrade from them to begin with.
Technically this film IS an upgrade seeing how a lot of their films beforehand were just still images with no animation whatsoever.

Cerberus most likely translates to(hasn't been confirmed but is close to kérberos, and therefore assumed translate to) Spotted. So the dog in this, and the three headed hellhound, are basically named Spot.
I always thought it was weird that these people would "find out" that their newborn relative is destined to kill them and respond by trying to kill them first. Did it ever occur to these people that maybe that's the triggering event that puts said child on the destined path to slay you since you'll obviously fail at the task?
In the myth, Atlas was a titan that held up the heavens and Perseus turned him to stone out of pity.
So the Italian dub of Dingo films getting DB voice actors seems kind of like how the English dubs of Video Brinquedo films always seem to get 4Kids voice actors (although I believe many of them had work outside of 4Kids with stuff like Slayers and Berserk).

Don't worry, I think we've all dreamt of Phelous. (Seriously though, dreaming about interacting with people you see or interact with regularly or even irregularly some times whether on TV, internet or real life is pretty common I'm sure of it. It happens to me too, I always wake up feeling awkward, and I imagine few talk about it due to feeling stalkery from it even though they had no control over it happening, and aren't even obsessive over the person(s) they dreamt about.)
I know, right? I used to feel somewhat stalkery for dreaming about other people when I was younger, but now I just know it happens to everybody, so it's not really a big deal to me anymore. I just think it's cool in a way that Phelous has been a consistent source of friendship and kindness towards me (with his goofy jokes and everything, of course.) in my dreams lately, and it's just become so random since I don't have a crush on him or anything (No offense, bud. I love you, but not in a creepy way). And I don't think about him a great deal more than I'd think of anyone else. But yeah, it's super cool to have been able to interact with a pretty good imitation of what Phelous is actually like, and being his friend in my dreams has helped me out a bit this week. Thanks, Phelan, for being such a significant, happy presence in my life that I can see you in my dreams. And that doesn't sound uncomfortable, cringey, or awkward at all. *cough*

They missed some key points of the story in this the sandals were given to him by Hermes, the polished shield was given by Athena and when he had finished with Medusa's head the image of it remained imprinted on Athena's shield. They also missed the part when Perseus had killed Medusa the winged horse Pegasus, even worse Pegasus does not even appear in this version at all. Also missing is Hades helmet of invisibility that was given to Perseus so he could sneak into the Gorgons' camp. Its even worse that Atlas was made into an ordinary instead of what he is, one of the Titans who was forced to hold up to sky as punishment. Then they tried to tie into Ovid's account of the myth in a way that makes it much worse.
Your comments about Heracles being given help from Zeus in all of his challenges is completely wrong in the original account, or at least its summary as the original poems by the great bards Pisander and Panyassis are considered to be lost, Heracles overcomes all his tasks with his own skill and intelligence. This is of course bar the second task, the Hydra which was not counted as part of the original tasks because he received the help of the gods and as such Eurystheus did not count it. The other task that he did not count was the cleaning of the Augeas Stables as Heracles received payment for that. In his further adventures Heracles did not receive that much advantage he was still refused cleansing after his accidental killing of Iphitos for which he still had to spend three years of servitude to Omphale and he still died from his hydra poisoned robe. In Greek plays Heracles is anything but what you describe him as see Euripides or Seneca the Younger
You should read the summaries given by pseudo-Apollodorus and Diodorus Siculus as these are the best sources we have for Heracles great tale and show his true side as not being some overly perfect super hero but deeply flawed but in the end good person has great powers but face enormous challenges. Though if only we had the great masterpieces by Pisander and Panyassis, Panyassis especially who was said to be on the same level as Homer what I would give to be able to hold and read his masterwork.

Haven't watched yet, but I remember Perseus was my favorite ancient Greek hero as a child, probably because his story was one of the few myths to have a happy ending without some sort of a dark twist. Wouldn't be surprised if Dingo added one just for the sake of it tho

I think the dog being named Cerberus might actually be a joke from Dingo about it’s name, as Cerberus comes from the root Indo-European word Kerberos, which evolved into the Greek word Κέρβερος, which then got changed to Cerberus when it went from Greek to Latin. The word kerberos itself means “spotted”, which technically means that Hades, Lord of the Dead, called his dog Spot.
