Fantastic idea, but it was superseded by the E-Bow which uses opposing magnets to vibrate the strings left and right so nothing has to even touch the strings. I've got one and it's terrific. Godley and Creme were pioneers in music videos as well. Super smart chaps.
I have a Gizmotron 2 and it is not very practical, the sounds it makes against the strings are thin and buzzy not as good as an Ebow, I'm waiting for someone to invent a six string Ebow.
