Pam, you might find this interesting….I went to my local library and asked them if they had an old library cards they were needing to get rid of……YUP, they gave me probably 500!!!! Some with envelopes, some just the card…..so perfect….lesson here….ASK, ask, ask!!!! 🙂
I love library cards, thank you. I laughed when you said you had jingles bells on the door. Years ago I hung a wreath of jingle bells on our door. It's still there.
Hi, Pam! I used to work in the Public Library, in my town, and those mysterious letters - JF mean "Junior Fiction". The letters below them - Bis - are the first three letters of the author's Sir-name, which is "Bishop". Boy! Seeing these library pockets and cards sure bring back those good old days when I worked in the library! I enjoyed watching your tutorial. You are pretty cool! Thanks for sharing! Stay safe! ~Janet in Canada
I remember these cards from when I would go to the library as a child. Such a great memory to add to my journals! Glad to hear your family are on the road to recovery-such a scary illness! Best wishes.
These library cards brought back memories from my teenage years when I worked in a library. I used to have nightmares of writing and filing library card, it was horrendous when cards and books where put in the wrong place and someone was asking if a particular book was in. Computers definitely have benefits.
Thank you for this very helpful tutorial, Pam! Now we can make library pockets for every style/occasion! I can hardly wait to make lots! Thank you also for the positive update on your Ca family. 🙏💕
Oh I love this. I have only 2 lib. cards and pockets and I've been saving them for special. I never would have thought of this. I learn so much from your channel. Thank you.
Hello Pam & Sunny! I love those kind of little library cards, going to make some as they seem nice and simple. I cannot thank you enough for all the tips and advice you give us in every video of yours! Greetings from France. ❤
Thank you for sharing. I did love those library cards. You could see how checked the books out before you. I would always ask the person if it was a good book. (Although that was just in our school library) What fun! I will be trying to make these. God’s blessings for you and your family today and always.
Want to start making very soon. I miss this specific paper touch & its use. I always looked to see who had checked a book out before me! Fun! So happy your family are improving. Super!
Love❤️ this, Pam! When I was in high school, I worked in our Town’s Public Library. The building stood next door to the High School (which in those days also included jr. high grades 7&8) and we all had chorale music classes in the basement level of the Library and study hall upstairs …at tables …right smack in that huge room filled with books! No wonder I LOVE books…and PAPER☺️ I actually typed those lovely book cards and put them into backs of each new book before putting it on the shelf🥰And those beautiful OLD OAK card catalogue DRAWERS … we hand typed each card in those as well😉 Life was much slower paced back then…no Google! Haha! Love crafting SUNNY 🥰… & with you, Pam….Your love of old books and paper & art keeps me inspired‼️And …keeping you & your family close in my heart & prayers for complete recovery❤️
“Stuff it with money”.....I love your thought process! 🤣😂 love these pockets ...great “mock-a-roonie”. Glad to hear your family in California doing better. Hi Sunny!❤️🥰
Great memory for me, (early 1970's) my sister & I had a teacher that would watch us in the summer and take us to the school where we would spend the day (or what felt like it) in the library putting the books in order by the numbers on the cards. Love it!
I loved this video, Pam. I started working in libraries back in 1979 and one of the jobs I had was typing on the book pockets, book cards and catalogue cards. Times have certainly changed so I thoroughly enjoyed this blast from the past
Good morning Pam. I've made these pockets. Never made the insert though. These would be good made from file folders...they're the right color. 🙂 TFS Regards to the menagerie and Papa too. Hope you all have a wonderful day. 🌞
made this right away with you Pam - love this idea - thank you - and i am very glad to hear that your family members are doing better - its a scary and unsafe world out there still - be well xx - and now you need to make sure that Sunny doesn't turn into "SPIDERSUNNY" lol lol xx
Mockety mock mock. You made me laugh and snort at this one Pam!! My husband would be giving Sunny an extra treat for taking out the spider. It's better than him burning the house down!!
I so enjoy watching you Fuddle!!!! Thank you sister.........I will For Sure be making these today!!! Winter Cold is hitting the Southern part of Iowa. BBBBUUUUUU!!!! Thank You!!!
Pam, ten years ago, I put a string of jingle bells on our front door for Christmas . Our 7 month old Coton de Tulear (similar to a Bichon) learned the association between the ringing and the door opening. Those bells now hang from a hook beside the door and all four dogs ring them when they want out. Your videos are the best thing ever, I show my sister my new projects every week. I swear you and I are fraternal twins separated at birth, kindred spirits for sure. aka Kristie
Thanks for the great idea! Wouldn’t it be cool to have library card pockets made of brown/kraft paper? I think that’s what they had in my high school’s library ☺️
Thanks for the update on the family, glad to hear 💜 Your library cards and pockets turned out fabulous, just found a typewriter at a thrift store and it works but I have to order a ribbon for it. Hope you are having a good week, take care!
Hey hun... just a thought... you could have folded the "pocket" up, before folding the flap-a-roos.. and leave it folded and fold the flaps around it. Hard to explain, but I hope you got my idea. Greetings from freezing Finland 😘
My mom was a librarian for many years, so I am very fond of all things library. Several months ago, I found printable templates for library pockets and cards. Since most of my books are gifts, I put the recipient's name as the author. Then I put the library card and Pam's note from the bookmaker in the pocket.
Hi Pam, love your little "mockarunie".. LOL 😂. Glad to hear your family in the west are on the mend. Hi ya Sunshine, Chico is sending puppy hugs to you, enjoy your little "snackarunie" .... Sorry your mama is rubbing off on me.
GdM Pam & Sunshine (aka Sunny)!! It's been awhile since I've replied but, I'm still here! Great idea (always wanted library pockets) and can't wait to try it! Have a wonderful, safe, healthy and blessed day! 👋 💞 from NC (2nd home FL [Palm Coast])
I bought some library cards from Amazon. I make the holders and glue them into the front of a journal I am giving to someone. I use it to put who receives the journal and who made it and when and a note, like happy birthday or For Christmas" and the date. I love the way you made the card from scratch though; I wish I had this video before I bought 500 of them. Love your videos and how you always have original ideas. Sunny is so adorable.
Great oversized 'tea bag' bag! and I love the idea of putting birthday money into it! 👍 hi Sunny, go get that snack, maybe there's two? hello from Denmark 🌸❄
Good morning Pam and Sunny!! I am just looking forward to today!! Stuff is in the mail and I can clean and decorate and rest!! WAHOOO! I will be joining the Facebook group after the first, yes your part of my New Year plan! Anyway blessings!!
My name was supposed to be Sally Sue based on an old song Sally Goodin, the number one country song in the year 1923! I know neither of us is this old, but every time Sally Sue comes up in your videos makes me laugh out loud.
I got a text a little while ago, my oldest is sick. A co-worker came to work sick and was diagnosed with covid. She's in WA state! It's almost holiday time! I am immuno-compromised, so I can't do a thing! I am so sad! Sigh. Cool cards and envelopes, Pam! Thank you! Su
I don't know, but are we on the same wavelength or something as you often mention on video what I had done / been talking about. I was chatting about making library cards to someone only the other day on one of the Facebook groups. Hadn't got round to it yet, but wow. I think I might start making some now. I bought a printing kit to do the dates as well, haha. I will write some too. I thought it would be fun to think up book names, too. Looking forward to trying this now as you have motivated me 😄😄😄 xx
I think JF is the authors first and middle initials just as Bis is the first part of last name. So in your example the first 2 letters would be E for Elsie and whatever her middle name is. Maybe!!
Pam honey I would just take the pattern and trace around then cut out.or you could of made it like making a pocket but leaving the sides straight then add your card.just a thought.
Pam, you might find this interesting….I went to my local library and asked them if they had an old library cards they were needing to get rid of……YUP, they gave me probably 500!!!! Some with envelopes, some just the card…..so perfect….lesson here….ASK, ask, ask!!!! 🙂
Ooo! I was wondering about that! Thanks for a great idea!

Me too Sadie! Stinkin' job gets in the way sometimes. 😆

Nice, from what I understand from these are that the number is part of the isbn number in side of the book, the letters are the initials of the writer
