I'm a guy who keeps a phone for 4-5years and hearing about only 2 year support made me sad.
2 years is OS uodate.. for general support update its 4 years
Lately Android OS updates have just been cosmetic. The security updates are what really matters because that's where manufacturers implement bug fixes and the like.
Im having a hard time choosing.. Zefone 10 or xperia 5V.. I really like compact phones.. Big ass phones are soo annoying. 6.7inch its too big to put in a pocket phone should just be 6.3inch below

Are you using a custom launcher for it? Mine looks slightly different. For example i can only put 4 apps in the bottom tray on main screen

It's really hard to find a good "compact" phone nowadays (even though 6" isn't really that compact). The Zenfone 10 is the best I've found but I'm probably a bit biased against Samsung and their S23/S24, which are as compact as the zenfone.
I'm just incredibly sad to give up my LG V30, because I can't find any new smartphone to tick all the boxes, but it's high time to replace it. The Zenfone might just be the best compromise. There's also the Xperia 5 V, but it's way too expensive, and the tall proportions don't fit my hand very well.
And for any people that are also looking to buy this phone - the Zenfone 10 for some reason has only USB 2.0, so transfer speeds won't exceed 30-40MB/s. That's a thing worth considering if you do transfer files often.

@@mikemucha9745 I had unfortunately dropped it a few times and the screen was cracked. Also it had burn in on the OLED screen, and that's just what happens when the phone is that old. But the biggest problem was the battery not lasting through the day. I also consider refurbishing it in the future, but now I'm actually pretty happy with the Zenfone, even though it isn't such a step up as the V30 was for me back when it was new. It's compact, has great battery life, a headphone jack, and enough storage space that I don't need an sd card.

144 Hz is available in game mode only.
is superior on paper, it does not matter so much for majority of poeple. I say this as someone who has a high end pc with a high refresh rate monitor.
On paper, you can’t use this phone in sunlight. It’s lika a 1000 nits. An iPhone got 2000.
if they add a SD slot and keep the headphone jack it would be hard to compete with this phone... and keep the small size adding the bigger one...

The Zenfone 9/10 are great phones, batttey kings. Hopefully, Asus will make the next Zenfone 11 with symmetrical bezels.

Yeah.. 2 years OS update and 4 years software update.
What its mean exacly? The phone will get slower or something? I don't mind staying with an good solid software and os but only if i can use it for 2 3 more years...
This means that the phone will only have operating system updates until 2025. 2026 and onwards no more updates. Which likely means that it will most likely only support up to android 15.

You forgot about the Samsung Galaxy S23. The Zenfone and the S23 were the ones I was struggling to choose from. Zenfone meant switching from Verizon and the Samsung "ecosystem" (I had a Samsung, so it would have been an easier transition). The size is almost identical, the price was very close, with the S23 being a little bit more expensive. I'd say these two phones are much more your options since someone who is Apple is likely not going to switch and vice versa. I chose the Zenfone 10 to give it a try since my current Samsung A52 5g had some issues I wanted to avoid in a new phone. I'm still waiting for a sim card before I can use it, but I can comment that the Zenfone isn't as commonly sold as other phones, so your choices in phone cases are limited. Just my $0.02.

@@Otto_Heiskanen It's a good phone. I like the form factor, but for me it was a mistake. I live in the US and I was on Verizon. Switching to this phone meant switching carriers and that turned out to be a pain and now I'm actually paying a few dollars more every month. Other than that pretty good. One other thing. I upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy A52 5g and the camera on the Zenfone is noticably worse. It is NOT bad, just not as good. So in the end, I wish I had spent the extra $30 and gotten the S23, so I could have just easily switched sim cards and kept my old service. One other thing, maybe it's no biggie for some people, but Samsung has this cool feature on their cameras, where if you are holding it in an awkward position and can't reach the shutter button, you can just call out "shoot" or I think "cheese" and it will take the picture using the voice command. It's a small thing, but it's surprisingly useful. Good luck.

I don't use flag ships, don't like and won't ever use them. I like unique phones and this one has caught my eye. It seems super unique and cool. Only two downsides - mediocre front camera and only 2 year of android updates

If you live in a sunny country, do not buy this phone. The screen is really dark in sunlight.
Not bad. Especcially because of being not that ridiculously huge.
But camera-lenses, visual frame and price still are too big.
If only it was cheaper. The 16GB of RAM and 256 GB storage costs as much as the S24 Ultra on Amazon
