it actually doesn’t take that long to update tbh. I have a 15P and when i clicked “update “ the download took like 5 seconds to complete. the whole process of installing and restarting my phone took like 10min max

Apple intelligence is currently not available in the EU and china. And if you don't have an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, your phone won't have AI. (So bad I know)
To make it work, you need to change the location to the United States and the language to English. Once you do that, you can request the change. It works for me in Switzerland.

I’m still rocking my iPhone 11 Pro, and for the first time since buying it in 2020, I am just starting to feel incentivized to upgrade. I’m curious to see how iOS 18 will run on it, specifically which features will be included/excluded. Luckily, most of the Apple Intelligence features are just more tightly integrated versions of things I can already access on other platforms. But a smarter Siri is the one big thing that makes me salivate at the thought of an iPhone 16 Pro-once my current phone is a year or two past being able to receive updates, that’ll be (I hope) when I plan to upgrade.
Where can I get that awesome iPod wallpaper?! Also how do you get that calendar widget view for the lock screen with the numbered days? For me it simply says "no upcoming events"
There’s more new stuff not mentioned in this video. Mail has a new priority setting in the top left corner. Also I noticed mail notifications were smartly grouped together and summarized. There’s also new iconography in mail notifications
I’m on the developer beta too for iOS 18 and today I just got the iOS Beta 2 🤷🏼♂️ I still don’t have the ability to test RCS. I don’t think my crappy carrier on my beta device supports it yet.

There is a strange bug on new shortcuts app, The ‘Split text’ action only returns the first item in ‘repeat with item’. This happens only on ‘Split text’, not ‘replace text’ or others. App itself is also lagging and draining battery since beta 3

@@bolts3catch the iPhone 13 CPU is good enough to do that, that's really a bad argument to sell more phones, would it be slower? sure but slower devices have been able to exploit AI features, if your phone can run 3D video games then it can generate some text suggestions. so stop repeating this argument and just say that apple wishes to keep new features on newer phones to give reasons to upgrade.
Got the 18.1 beta on my M1 iPad Pro today. I joined the waitlist for the Apple Intelligence features, but I'm not sure how long it'll take to get on there. So, as of yet, I'm not able to play with Apple Intelligence. Also even though I'm on 18.1, my Siri animation is still the old one, the circle appearing in the bottom right corner.
Hey i have the audio bug still. no slider adjustment when using volume rockers and audio cuts out on screen wake but most notably I DO HAVE APPLE INTELLIGENCE PRIORITY!! It was there when i woke up inside the mail app not the home screen. i had about 20 new emails and it did show priority just like it should. I forgot to screenshot it but keep an eye out for that to add in your next video if you can reproduce it
My volume been messed up since last up date.. I can only type to Siri because of it.. volume on videos takes forever to work (if it do) but besides that everything else is cool

Did Apple mail not get the AI feature? I know you spoke about the summary, but you didn’t get to deep into it like priority, updates etc. and the mail AI feature helps right emails as well.
My copy of the iOS 18 public beta has a non- functional “frequently used” emojis on the keyboard. Do we think 18.1 beta does NOT suffer the same issue?
Saw something that wasn’t mentioned here. Not sure if it was added in an earlier BETA but, I’m noticing that the keyboard can now identify multiple languages instead of having to toggle languages individually on the keyboard (at least for English and Spanish). It shows “EN/ES” on the space bar.
18.1 will be available on all devices, but Apple Intelligence will only be available on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, and later devices, iPads and Macs with M series chips. That’s not going to change as the earlier devices don’t have CPU+GPU+NPU capabilities that are needed.
@@dunmire7671 Yeah. The beta is currently only the Apple AI features. Once 18.0 generally releases, the 18.1 beta will become available to all devices, but AI will only be included in builds for 15 pro, pro max, 16 and M series iPads
I've watched all your videos regarding the ios 18 dev beta versions, in fact, your video in my UA-cam feed is how I come to know about the new updates, just updated to the 18.1 in India. New features including Grammarly alternative in iMessage, Safari and Notes etc with Apple keyboard and Call recording. As it seems, these grammarly like features will work only with Apple keyboard and in Apple's apps, which sucks as I don't use either of them and these features are not big enough to bring me back to these apps or even the default keyboard, this keyboard is the one of the main reasons why I still use my 6x cheaper Oppo as my primary phone over my iPhone 15 Pro.
I'm interested to know which features still work if you disconnect your wifi/mobile data. Would be great to touch on that in the Apple Weekly. I know Apple says that most of it happen on-device, but still curious to know which ones :D Love ur videos. keep it up 👍

Not going to happen, hardware limitations are the reason for the device compatibility. All of this is happening on-board the device.

This update is only for iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, M1 and newer iPads and Macs. I should actually try it out on my Mac and iPad 😊

As it seems, these grammarly like features will work only with Apple keyboard and in Apple's apps, which sucks as I don't use either of them and these features are not big enough to bring me back to these apps or even the default keyboard, this keyboard is the one of the main reasons why I still use my 6x cheaper Oppo as my primary phone over my iPhone 15 Pro.

Hello Brandon, why didn't Apple activate the siri 2.0 UI for the EU.

So the call recording feature will be exclusive for 15 pro and above models ?
I installed the beta but now I want to revert to iOS 17, but I don't see either option in the software update section of the settings
After updating to iOS 18.1, intelligence was not activated and remained as it was before. What is the reason, given that my phone is iPhone 15 Pro, version CH?

The Siri update is 2-fold. The UI comes in 18.1, the actual new Siri capabilities in 18.4.

You can also summarize the article by long pressing and entering read mode you get that option to summarize at the very top
