Those prices are so high!!! I have this favorite thrift I go to and the prices are cheap but what’s even better is they always have half off! So I get pieces from 50 cents to 15 dollars being the most expensive. I got a pair of Nike airforces for 6 dollars :).
I went to a Value Village in Toronto the other day and the prices felt so high...Like $10 for basic t-shirts, I don't understand. Like I get that thrifting is trendy and the cool thing to do, but also it's for families and people who truly cannot afford retail stores. It just confuses me that I could buy a brand new shirt for $10 so why would I pay that for used and it's not vintage or a rare find?
Right! I see shirts from Forever 21 for $10 sometimes and they originally most likely cost $5. It really sucks for those families who cannot afford retail as there is a very limited amount of clothes in the thrift store that are even under $8 now. I just hope the prices don't keep rising as it will deter people from shopping secondhand.
The white shirt is absolutely saveable - it's white! You can bleach it! haven't done this myself but my mom has: not sure about the proportions but probably half bleach half water, just soak it for a bit, then wash a few times on its own (to get the bleach out so it doesn't dye anything else).
I agree with you, Value Village prices are more expensive than other thrift stores for some reason. The prices are also a lot more than the stores in the States. I think they are trying to re-coup profits lost during quarantine. Too bad about that white cardigan - I know how excited you were about finding it. You can try washing it to see if that dye comes out, or else just dye it. Just a suggestion: when you cut the price tag off write down what item it's from so that you know the price. Your dog is being sooo patient.
Soak the ruined cardigan in oxy clean and warm water. Follow directions. It’s takes most stains off. I use oxy clean for vintage linens and it will take all old stains off. It’s a life saver.
I was always so jealous of your big stores, but those prices? Oh my, thats insane. In the Netherlands we have mostly tiny thrift stores compared to those big chain stores in the US and Canada. To give an idea. That one row of jeans, is the entire row of mens jeans, mens trousers and mens dress pants in the biggest chain store in my area. My local thrift has about 6 or 7 pairs of mens jeans. But my local thrift also has every clothing item at 1 euro, because they felt they needed to compensate the customer, for not being able to try anything on because of covid. So sometimes you get a vintage diesel jeans of a cool t shirt for 1 euro, but most times its a bust.
White clothing should be wash separately...you can try soaking that white Cardigan with one bottle cap of bleach liquid and one bottle cap of bleach powder overnight...
I went thrifting for the first time yesterday! Inspired by you! It was super fun. I went with my best friend and we found some really cool stuff. And we even bleach tie dyed some stuff. You are so cool and I love all your videos. ❤️❤️
Hi Jenna, me again. I forgot to mention something that I remembered yesterday. You mentioned that you washed your laundry with the same items that you bought at Value Village. Where I live in Canada the Value Villages use the most gross scented type of deorderizer on the clothes. Even airing out the clothes doesn't make that scent go away. It stinks up my whole car and house also. I'm not sure what kind of chemicals are in it, however, I don't feel that it is a good idea to do your laundry soaking in those chemicals. Just something to think about. I hope you were able to get the pink out of that white cardigan you were so excited about.
I know this is a 4 year old video, but...my husband worked for HIlton Hotels in Vegas in the late 90s and he has an old t-shirt from then with that exact same design, only in red. So I think you're correct--it's from the 1990s. Cheers!
Those clothes are so expensive for a thrift shop. Crazy for stuff they get donated. Those are the same as Marshall's or TJmaxx prices, even Ross is cheaper.
Jenna, your hair has grown since I last saw you. During the fungilitis mine grew 5". The Harley Davidson tee might be a Juniors large or a child's large. It's definitely not a wonderful. So glad you're back, I missed you 💜
OMG! The system for points is down here too. I live in the mid-atlantic (U.S.) & it’s been down for over a month now. I could have earned so many rewards by now. They told me to save receipts & that they would retroactively give me points but I don’t see that happening.
The reason why thrift stores have increased there prices is because thrifting is getting really popular and they make more profit because almost everyone is thrifting nowadays. Which is really bad because there are actually people who can't afford all these brands/stores.
Is argyle the name of the pattern or is it a type of fabric? I am guessing its the pattern?? And I guess its a good thing I don't have any tie dye because I didn't know you can't wash it with other stuff! Good thing to know!
Hey Jenna how r u😀 i always love ur thrifting vids esp when u go to valu village ...it’s always exciting to see what u got planned for that amazing shopping cart of urs 😘😘 pls tell me, when wd u thrifting for bib overalls again, I’m so looking forward to that vid 😀? When u got the Calvin Klein ones that was a really beautiful vid. Pls tell me when u plan to thrift for some good long overalls maybe ikeda, liberty, dickies, key, Carhartt or big smith or even lee dungarees or perhaps roundhouse bibs? I really am looking forward to that 😀😀😀
LOVE your vids Jenna. Covid 19 "fun fact" (I bet you didn't think there WERE any covid 19 fun facts...!) WELL, to sanitize an item from covid 19, lay it in the sun for 36 minutes. Covid 19 (apparently) can't survive more than 36 minutes in the sun. Hence, anything I thrift, I FIRST hang on the clothesline for a day...... THEN I wash........... lol
Oh no way! I have heard the same thing that the it cannot last long in the sun but I didn't know it about 36 minutes rule. Thanks so much for sharing, that is so helpful!
My value village is a lot less expensive than yours our skirts are usually around $3-4 and dresses average about $7 tops $2-3. Then they have half off certain colors everyday and half off all clothing every last Wednesday of the month
WOW SIS LOVE YOUR THRIFT HAULS. I CAN WATCH THESE EVERYDAY. YOU HAVE A GREAT CHOICE. YOUR CUTE DOG IS ALWAYS ON BED WHEN YOU ARE VLOGING. TAKE CARE AND BE SAFE. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
omg that green lettuce trimmed cardigan i would have snatched in a heartbeat!

Wow, I am so jealous, my local thrift stores never have sales
Noooo that snowman sweater was such a cute find! You should go back for him!
I know, I should have got him 😭

Boil some water and pour it over the white top where the splotches are!! Then wash as normal! Works like a charm!
Yes goodwills n other thrift stores are getting crazy with there prices.
Oh no, that makes me sad 😢
You know you are my favorite one to watch. Even if it’s just try haul. Your funny n very informative
That argyle cardigan is so cute!

Use product to remove dye ... available at fabricland or fabric stores ...try that 😉
Same thing happened to my white jeans. Try soaking the shirt in an oxyclean kind of soap for 8hrs. That trick saved my white Levi's 😉
Soak the ruined cardigan in oxy clean and warm water. Follow directions. It’s takes most stains off. I use oxy clean for vintage linens and it will take all old stains off. It’s a life saver.
Vintage is mood 😍 I'm also a Vlogger & adore you a lot. I can watch this thrift vlog 24*7 & won't be bored. 😁😁

The prices at Value Villages are getting expensive here in Nanaimo BC Canada 🇨🇦 too! I wish I could find a Harley Davidson shirt!
The prices suck, right?
Jenna Phipps yes they do!

1 euro!!! Wow, I am so jealous. A lot of times the little thrift stores have the best items
Hello new to the channel just started watching thrifting videos idk why but I enjoy those random treasure finds 😎
White clothing should be wash separately...you can try soaking that white Cardigan with one bottle cap of bleach liquid and one bottle cap of bleach powder overnight...

5:59 omg I want that cardigan!
Jenna, Rit dye makes a product that will remove the dye. It also removes any stains. I think it would take out the color that is on that sweater.
Those clothes are so expensive for a thrift shop. Crazy for stuff they get donated. Those are the same as Marshall's or TJmaxx prices, even Ross is cheaper.

My hair grows insanely fast! You are right, it could be a children's shirt.❤️
OMG! The system for points is down here too. I live in the mid-atlantic (U.S.) & it’s been down for over a month now. I could have earned so many rewards by now. They told me to save receipts & that they would retroactively give me points but I don’t see that happening.
Oh really! They told me it was only in BC, but it seems like it's everywhere. Right, I will have to come back with 500 receipts.
I love your thrifting videos, u definitely deserves more subscribers 😌💕!
Marcia Morris me too. Jenna is like the queen of thrifting. One of my favs indeed 💕💕
Danny Overall same 😌
You are so sweet, thank you ❤️
Jenna Phipps aww ur so welcome. Can’t wait for what amazing thrifting tricks u got up ur sleeve ❤️❤️ next time.
Great Thrift Shopping at Value Village, Jenna!❤️❤️❤️❤️
The reason why thrift stores have increased there prices is because thrifting is getting really popular and they make more profit because almost everyone is thrifting nowadays. Which is really bad because there are actually people who can't afford all these brands/stores.
The Las Vegas shirt is super cool

love ur thrift with me videos!!!
I can’t remember if I told you that I found a Harley T-shirt at my goodwill that was from Kuwait
OMG I wish you bought that cat shirt, I would have totally bought it from you!
I regret not buying it too 😭
Or you can buy a dye removal product to fix the white T-shirt, it is so cute it deserves rescue ^^
Oxiclean will most likely take the dye out :)
Too bad about the white shirt, its super cute, try vinegar and baking soda to lift the stains off.
loved the topshop dress! such a european style :)

Any source material? I couldnt find anything about these 36 minutes on google?
Oh no way! I have heard the same thing that the it cannot last long in the sun but I didn't know it about 36 minutes rule. Thanks so much for sharing, that is so helpful!
@@JennaPhipps btw I think hydrogen peroxide on the red / pink dye stains on your new white sweater will remove stains.
Soak the shirt in napisan or similar, leave for a few hours or overnight and it should be perfect again
If you want brand-name stuff go to value Village in Richmond
Love come thrift with me so exciting to see your reaction what you find as you film ...
broskiiii,good video congrats
Savers / Value Village pricing is seriously ridiculous 🤨
why is no one talking about how amazing you look in a bucket hat?!!
- honeypot films
Awh, you are so sweet! Thanks ❤️
Try bleaching the white sweater...
Thrift stores are getting more expensive than Ross and Burlington

I was there the day the points thing destroyed their entire system. As of today it’s back up!
Oh that's good to hear that it is working again! Last time I went it wasn't.
Jenna Phipps they said here in Chicago it just started working again.
Why does it say non-profit outside the store and 20.00 jeans!!??
Planet Organic market is now Pomme market 😁
Oh no way! I didn't know that, thanks for letting me know! ❤️
i bought a christmas sweatshirt a month ago. it’s never too early ;)

I think the pink will come out with a bleach wash.
These prizes are as high as they are in Germany. Everything is so expensive here. 😅

Hola para que se blanquear tu camisa blanca remojala en color con bicarbonato y vinagre
I swear you should just take some scissors and cut off all the vintage tags. They don’t matter as much as what the piece of clothing is worth
cute :)
I work here LOL
