Thank you for a fantastic tutorial! I learned a lot. I've only peaked into the Expert Raw app, wanting to use it but it felt like it would be hard to get the hang of. I'm definitely gonna start using it now.
Yes please make another video tutorial how to use expert raw app like EV SPEED ETC.. YOU ARE A BIG HELP FOR ALL BEGGINERS LIKE ME..thank you.. GOD BLESS.
expert raw makes my photos brighter and more saturated, i tried to edit it in lightroom but when i tried ti darken the photo, the image looks unnatural..what should i do? thanks!!
Hey, thanks for mentioning the fact that you can FORCE the phone to use the lens you want in Expert RAW instead of hoping for the best when shooting in low light. They give us so many things to play with and then make important things like this very unclear. I hope to see the day when someone releases a phone where you can adjust EVERYTHING yourself and not see any unnecessary postprocessing (upscaling, edge sharpening, messing with saturation - especially of yellows on Samsung etc.). I was just researching P40 Pro+'s capabilities and it does all the same stuff. WHY?
Great video, finally a explanation with out all the technical stuff. I'm new to cameras and bought the S22 ultra and decided to try and use all of it. The Metering modes helped alot. Couldn't understand that one bit, until this video I would love to see your explanation on how ISO, shutter speed, and other features work on the app. I like the concept breakdown you did rather than technical ones, since I'm new
If your serious, buy a real camera like a Nikon or Canon - not some rinky-dink toy camera like a cellphone. Sensor size alone makes all the difference. So does the ability to focus your thoughts on the image in the viewfinder, instead of a glaring LCD screen that does not enforce concentration of the Image Syntax and composition......
When I try to shoot early in the morning with the expert raw app on my S23 ultra, even when it's still dark. I'll put my phone on a tripod and choose astrophoto and 4 minutes and not change any other settings, and all I ever get is a white flash and nothing else. 😵💫 What settings am I not using correctly?
No offence intended Tshaka, but if the histogram is only useful for knowing when you're clipping shadow or highlight information in a photo, isn't that the whole point in taking a photo? Yes I get that there ARE times when you want to clip shadow or highlight information depending on the photo you take, but in saying that, that's the whole point of using the histogram. Especially for people who unintentionally under or overexpose their images.
I don't use any photo apps for images because they have a very digital effect and produce overly sharp images. Instead, I capture a prof video as needed and then use the capture button located at the bottom left to save a jpg from it. Trust me, I have achieved better results for images this way than with the photo modes. Does anyone else use the camera this way?
Why is it that cellphone users tend to take vertical pictures and videos even when it is of 6 people standing side by side. A lot of empty sky and foreground. Are they stupid or something? You don't see that with people with real cameras.
Because people with “real cameras” are often more than casual users and generally have a deeper understanding of basic photography. You’re being just a bit judgmental there buddy.
@@TshakaArmstrong -You're right. As a teacher of the arts I am judgmental. I think everyone should develop good taste and a brain (thought process). Sorry, that's me. I believe that even when using rinky-dink cellphones, you can still draw on the basics of good photography and videography. You still will have pukky quality, but you can have a good composition and a balanced shot.
We all are sinners: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) and "... It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement." (Hebrew 9:27) On the day of Judgement, unforgiven sins will be punished in hell: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23) You need a Savior, "...for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners ..." (1 Timothy 1:15) " ... in Him we have redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace. (Ephesians 1:7) God loves you and He doesn't want anyone to perish but that all should come to repentance. (from 2 Peter 3:9) "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16) If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord , and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9) Repent and pray to God in Jesus' name, tell Him that you're a sinner and you are sorry for your sins. (Yes, talk to Him, He answers, He's the Living God) Say Jesus, please become the Lord of my life. Tell Him that you believe that Jesus Gave His life on the cross for your sins and Rose up from the dead on the third day. And that He is alive forevermore. Call Jesus into your heart. Ask Him to wash your sins with His precious blood. Give Him your life today and He will save you, And you will be given the authority to become a child of God
I've noticed the pro mode has pretty much all the same settings as expert raw but expert raw is more user controlled like using the camera you choose not letting the app choose.
A very good breakdown of the app and a good start for beginners. Thank you. Waiting for the next one! 👍
if youre gonna go to the trouble of shooting raw, at least try to hold the phone steady
Oof 😅
Or just get a tripod
Can you record video in raw?
Thank you so much, I needed this. I learned a lot from this.
You’re welcome Jim!

Awesome!
This video did more for me about metering than a dedicated video.
Thank you for a fantastic tutorial! I learned a lot. I've only peaked into the Expert Raw app, wanting to use it but it felt like it would be hard to get the hang of. I'm definitely gonna start using it now.
Expertly crafted video, visual difference between pro mode and expert mode editing in light room were helpful, this is exactly what I was looking for

Why not use Sony Xperia then?
Most folks don’t own both a Galaxy S device AND an Xperia, I’m guessing.🤷🏾♂️
Is there video of export raw
Do you mean video of HOW TO EXPORT PHOTOS out of expert raw?
@@TshakaArmstrong I mean export raw the app but foe video. Not pictures only. Thanks for the reply
@@dubaigeek1988 no raw video Samsung app that I’m aware of.
Portland, JAMAICA in The Building !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sir, "Stumbled" across your video during Sunday Church Service, (don't ask). Thank you, as I'll stumble no more..., at least not on this phone.......
GET OFF MY PHONE
There is a solution for the problem that the Phone itself decides which lens to use. Disable it in goodLock -> Camera Assistent
Thanks Tshaka for the excellent breakdown of Expert Raw. I would like you to go deeper into ISO, EV, etc., please.

thanks so much for this! learned a lot about the app in that short video 👍👍
Thank YOU! That’s my goal. Get in. Get out. Leave with more in your “pocket” than you showed up with.
Does this app work on the S20 Ultra? can find the expert raw setting but nothing for astrophotography sadly.

4:5 is ideal of instagram, utilizes the most screen real estate
