Our old Mum loved her little SmartLite. She was only 4'11" and she found this tiddler of a vacuum just so easy to quickly nip around the house. Eventually the cable developed a fault and it went to the tip before we got chance to repair it. She got a Hoover Alyx upright to replace it which was also very light and compact. We think we still have that one in storage - somewhere?? The SmartLite mesh filter screen was pretty poor for filtration but it was fairly easy to keep clean with a paint brush. It was also a noisy machine and Mum took her hearing aids out when using it. It always seemed to pick up much better than the lowly specifications might lead one to believe. We are sorry to hear about your loss and appreciate you taking some of your precious time to make content for us. Look after yourself.

My early 1980's Boss is great, the only thing I don't like about it is, they are noisy, but I can live with that, it does an excellent job. I'm curious to know what year this model is.
It is sad, the loss of a family member, my boyfriend (Wayne) lost his dad on Christmas Day 2016. You only get one Mum and only one Dad. Sadly his dear 85 year old mum is in hospital right now, so he feels your pain. But you always have friends, people who you can talk to. Remember the Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel song, "Don't Give Up"? It's true, there is always someone out there who will listen, and be there for you in your times of sorrow. All sorted this end. Things are nearly back to normal. Anyway, me and my other half repair and service domestic appliances. But we also "dumpster dive" thrown-away vacuum cleaners. You would be horrified, perfectly good vacuum cleaners being dumped for the most minor of faults. For example, a Shark upright cleaner dumped just because the power head no longer functions. 5 minutes with a screwdriver, and the machine works like new! A 300 quid vacuum cleaner just tossed out because of that?! Scandalous 🤔🤔🤔🤔😏😏😏👍👍👍❌️❌️❌️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I know it's not vintage but would you mind testing it at some point, if it's not too much trouble. By the way I love the channel and appreciate all the hard work you do to upload such quality videos.

Whats with the bag type filter in there? I used to have the same machine and the filter was a lot smaller in size
