- Stopping by to do a quick review on the Casio G-Shock GravityMaster, Master of Air GR-B300-8A2. I took this watch on the road with me in three cities in India and wanted to share some of the thoughts of this watch.
It's a great watch - got the black & white one. Lightweight, comfy, a more accessible price point, and with tough solar. Really easy to set up through the app, but just to make sure I knew my way around the watch, I set everything up manually in the first instance.
Lightweight yes, not sure if it's at comfort yet, it feels a bit hard on the resin... some of the Rangemans I thought were more comfortable. I do need to spend more time with the watch, especially features manually... my challenge is I keep changing use, and have to realign mindset.
The GPW-2000 was the high watermark for the Gravitymaster series. The GR-B100 was a definite step down-market, and was an unworthy follow-on with its lack of technical or material features. I like the GWR-B1000 for its merits (first Carbon Monocoque G-Shock, lightest Master of G, well executed unique module), but the trend had been set by its predicessor. Despite being a reskinned GG-B100, the GR-B200 has its highlights, but the cheap stamped steel caseback and mineral glass show that it's firmly in the camp of "second rate" Master of G. The GR-B300 is a further backslide and an indication that Casio are committing to a much more fashion-oriented lineup, which is a shame. Big miss from Casio on this one, despite the fact that in a vacuum it's a more than decent watch! I hope they will right the ship and come back around to making technical, zero compromise monsters like the GPW-2000.
Yeah, those GPW-2000s are something else... even second hand they go anywhere between $400 to $800, very impressive value for them. I look at these and the Gulfmaster and wonder to myself what would be the next one to check out. A friend of mine just bought a Gulfmaster and I was very impressed with the watch.
@@TheGShockWatcher I'm wearing my GWN-Q1000MC right now, funnily enough (Gulfmaster quad sensor with the factory combi bracelet). It's also another underrated great in my book for sure. Between the GPW-2000 and the GWN-Q1000 I think it's down to personal preference. I'm kind of enamored by both, so I went with both. I will say that they're both monsters and I'd recommend them for someone with at least an 18cm (~7in) wrist for them to fit right in daily wear. Of course they are tool watches and so the outsized look can be fine, just be aware of that. GPW-2000 features a unique variant of a top end MR-G module, GWN-Q1000 has its own unique module focused on putting the tide and barometer up front, and has just about every capability a G-Shock can have! You really can't go wrong with either, so long as you don't mind how they fit.
The only wrong that will happen is when my wife finds out I buy them... LOL

The price is good for $300 bucks for the gravitymaster.. we know that’s not have to much features unlike the other gravitymaster you can get but the price to high.. i’m planning to buy one for me..
You know it's growing on me, I have been wearing it all day today, and it's a pretty comfortable watch, and I like the gray and light blue combo. Again, I dont use any of the additional features, but I done mind it as a watch, Its easy to read and uncomplicated.
I think the GPW-2000 and possibly the GWR-B1000 were the last really good Gravitymasters. Casio have just gone down market with these ever since. I think the same is true of G-Steels which in my opinion peaked with the GST-B200 and it has been downhill ever since. They are thinner but they are more and more generic and boring. I would love a GPW-3000 that is smaller than the GPW2000 which I find a little large for me. I don't think it will ever happen though, sadly. Thanks for the video.
Yeah that GPW-2000 is a classy watch, is it a resin band or metal?
@@TheGShockWatcher All resin (with carbon fibre inserts), unlike the GPW-1000 (which I found too large) which you could fit a bracelet to. The GPW-2000 is almost unique among G-Shock in that it has 3 way sync (GPS, multiband 6 and bluetooth) as does the MRG version of the same basic watch. There are no others AFAIK.
Are all the features adjustable on the watch, or can some only be performed through the app? I bought a GW-B5600CD not that long ago, and the battery level indicator can only be viewed through the app. This has been on my radar since the announcement, but if it's too dependent on the app, that would be a definite deal breaker for me. Another pet peeve is that G-Shock has been leaving multi-band 6 off a lot of their new watches (prime example is the CasiOak) and having you sync them through the app. I'm not too keen on that. Thanks for the comment mate, and sorry it took so long to reply. I think majority of the features can be done on the watch, I might need to spend a good week and push it. Really at the end of the day, I am never able to justify the complete watch features, let me test out a bit purposefully.

The reason I'm curious, is because I recently saw a review of another G-Shock, I believe it was the GST-B100, and that one had features only accessible through the app. If you do find out one way or the other, an update would be very welcome. @@TheGShockWatcher I'll admit that I just leave the dual time the same because I'm not actually ever traveling between timezones but it's for sure an extra dial that brings another dimension to the watch. At first I didn't appreciate the extra motor that rotates every 60 seconds but if you pay attention to it, it's not a cheap gimmick it seems to keep things afloat when your just chugging along. I would have rather bought the mtgb3000 because that rotor is just another 24 hour dial for home time. That's what you want, but it cost so so so much more.
Oh I love some of those MTG-B3000, I especially like the Moon Rabbit release, that is one I am going to have to try and keep an eye Buyee for, I know there is one there, but its upwards of $1,500, and I know I am going to be in trouble for that purchase if I did it.

No Multiband, No Tough Solar, No nice backplate like the old Gravitymaster. How dissapointing!

Yes definitely has tough solar.
Arguably the Bluetooth time adjustment is less hassle and more reliable, than Atomic Multiband.
It is, I guess its more about time adjustments being made in the background for your watch without an effort to unlock the app, sync and adjust.
