    Changes in the music aside, Davey is and has always been, a good man.

    I wonder if that one kid with the bucket and the saved little rebel at the show remember all of this, and most importantly do they still remember Davey from Afi?! Glad he was able to escape and live longer than 23!

    In Palo Alto, July, 1996, I admit that the guy I hired to protect the stage, who was a singer in a band, that still plays out and records, but also wrote a book on martial arts, was tossing people a bit too hard from the stage. That, plus it was a seated venue with only about six feet of "throw" -- ironic name, the space between the stage and the first row of seats. There were 410 people in the room that had a capacity of 325.

    I was at the Opera House show where this happened - it was the wildest show I have ever been to. I was also at the Club Shanghai show which was also a great time...totally destroyed the ceiling. There was a video of the Club Shanghai show on UA-cam up until recently but it's gone...perhaps the channel was deleted.

    I was 5 years old and I was at this show. I was in the pit and then when crowd surfing and the bouncer grabbed me and threw me against the ground hard. I remember it like it was yesterday

      I was also in this pit, I was 6 months old at the time. I actually was able to land a few punches onto the security guard before Davey told us all to stop.

    And this is why the "kids" have to be manhandled...🤣

  • @GiacoC
    @GiacoC 2 роки тому +6

    well...kids lets hear the truth. Bouncer is there to do his job and hold the people in their boundaries. I dont think it is the same nowadays but looking back to few concerts of AFI I've been to through early 2000s...we are were acting like violent assholes...I dropped it pretty quick but my friends were there cause complete havoc. StraighEdge are talking about tolerance, being good and all.....but here you have it. Bouncer overdid it yes...but believe me from what I remember. I bet the kid was creating havoc himself I bet so he had to manage him...repeatedly. I don't believe bouncer was evil guy there to looking up for fight with 16yo kids...it was action and reaction. Of course now I see how it is with kpop "armies" today..."as long as you ours and agree with us, we will protect you no matter what." So this men I love my whole life...StraightEdge nonviolence tolerance advocate Davey Havoc...instigated the crowd for lynching the bouncer who was "just" trying to manage asshole kid who was there to create chaos and being danger to others and himself with his antics.....BUT HAD THE BALLS to realise his mistake ..sayit out loud and say out loud he was wrong. The greatness of a guy that is real to his teachings. To realise you were wrong is one step, to aknowledge it out loud, right your wrongs and apologize...that takes character. .....Funny how you see it in different way 20y later. Being both asshole kid with rest of the "army" to being normal adult without anger issues and remembering the times realising SxE and other armies are not always "right"...the fact that you brand yourself as part of some group doesn't make you immune to principles of your teachings just to protect your tribe. There was no understanding "the kid is causing havoc and being threat to himself, others and rules...tell him to chill a bit because otherwise bouncer will have to do his job" that is non-violence, tolerance and understanding. Kid wasnt nonviolent and certainly wasnt tolerant to others making it about himself and HIS enjoyment not carring about his peers and rules. THE KID was the bad guy here on base of SxE teachings....but because he was part of the "army" and was hurt (as result to his awful behaviour) the bouncer paid for it and was violently without compassion and tolerance attacked by mob.....which is to SxE teachings same as imagine Buddhist monk to go to the Burger King...order XXL menu go out, sit into million dollar car and drive away running over the cat on the street. Hypocrisy is the word.....and I bet I'll get some bashing here. But if you dont agree.....bet my friend. You are part of the problem. You are THE hypocrite :) I've been to these shows and that community...literally! Hypocrisy is the word perfectly summing up all the herdish armies. Think about it...don't drop SxE...but be better in being it. Don't think as a herd...think as individual and think how YOU can get better and share your growth with others......much better than attacking everyone who doesn't agree with you with you tolerance religion.
