- During your daily commute in Mumbai, you must have seen how every nook and corner of our city has been dug up for construction. The dust coming out of these construction sites is highly adding to the air pollution of the city.
We have started a campaign to urge the BMC and the state government to strictly implement dust mitigation guidelines and ensure that all construction sites are following them.

BMC are alloted highest budget not in India but in Asia. Still we see bad roads, hawkers, potholes everywhere from so many years.
BMC need to make it compulsory for the building construction to use green curtains for the entire length of the building. But who listens? MC doesn't bother about the court instructions. Corruption in BMC is rampant. I have never seen this level of construction in Mumbai in last 50 years. You come to Mumbai to earn money and die here by pollution of all kinds. 😭

There are no guidelines for the builders, architects and developers who are going to build new houses and apartments.
Also we should encourage more CNG & Electric Public transport vehicles like we find in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi etc. E-Rikshaws, Cycle Rikshaws, More CNG 3-4 wheelers.

No use at all, how will it solve the dust issue. The cleaner with jhaadu on road doesn't reliase that he is aerosolising dust, same in construction and vehicles aerosolising dust on roads

BMC has to start using big advance vaccum cleaner to clean road instead of bamboo brooms.
Think about it...that in 2023 Mumbai still uses broom to clean roads.
We have much more advance options, why not use that?

Some four buildings are being constructed in our area where work starts at 6.30 am and ends at 7.30 pm. It's a noise and dust storm through the day where you have to hold on to your sanity!!!!!

Current cars doesn't pollute as much like in 1990s. We have Euro emmision standards also we'll have Ethanol and Hydrogen fuel cells, even Electric vehicles as clean source.

Metro is very much necessary and it will reduce traffic since people have to go to offices with cars ( mostly in areas like BKC , seepz where local trains don't go ) will shift to metros . Also more people will use the metro instead of private cars for long distance travels . So less cars = less smoke and noise = less air and sound pollution .

Every day in the late evening at kanjur marg and near area experiances very bad odor smell in air. it is leaked from some industries in navi mumbai i guess... do take action against this .. very bad smell is coming on daily basis ,sometimes it even spread till vikroli and ghatkopar ... bahi log saaloh se yeh baas aarahi hai roj 9 baje ke baad .. thoda dhyan do .. power holder

I agree! Everyone wants private vehicles and don't want to use public transport! Ik for some people private transportation is the only option but there is a lot of people who can definitely use public transport but they still want to use private transport!
This is exclusively on them. All guidelines with regards to construction activities are being flouted. City planning ka koi nishan nahi hai. People are made to travel long distances and for multiple hours everyday because affordable housing nahi hai. Mumbai is one of those cities which have the enviable position of most of the commuters traveling by public transport. But most of the funds go for only road infra development and there is very little in way of improvement in simple things in mass transit. Changes are happening but it is nowhere near fast enough. And there is no coordination between civic bodies to create a holistic strategy for development and growth which is sustainable.

The place where I live there are 4 building construction work going on. It's far too polluted here, also the noise levels have increased so much. People also burst crackers here in mid nights.
I hope there are some steps taken as soon as possible. Or the summer heat and the dust pollution combined will be too difficult.

Whole of Mumbai is under construction, various infrastructure projects and real estate projects are ongoing, you cannot expect clean air in such a situation and you ofcourse cannot hault the development projects, without which Mumbai City will crumble down to its knees. All thanks to previous governments, who did nothing to develop and upgrade the city with a future vision. All those infra projects going on the city must have been completed atleast 10 years back. Mumbai needed metro more than Delhi but mumbai never got metro on time and now it's getting it, it's a shame for an international financial city like mumbai, where people are earning good but forced to live a life without basic amenities and a life which is worse than animals. No proper roads, no transportation, no proper connectivity. Jams, congestion, pollution, chaos, noise, frustration everywhere. Even tier two cities have got metro projects completed before mumbai, such a shame that it. UP has now 4 cities with operational metro which is unnecessarily defamed as sick state whereas Maharashtra has not even one city with fully operational metro. Chutiya bana rakha tha Mumbai ki aam janta ko pichli gandu governments ne. Thanks to BJP, now their is atleast hope that mumbai will become sustainable in just couple of years and life will be smooth and pollution free once all infra and real-estate projects are completed.

Many will be wondering if the state government and municipal corporation of the city are interested in solving the dust problem.
The city is also very noisy. It gets worse with loud cracker explosions during religious festivals. Music from loud speakers on special occasions only serves to show that powerful Mumbaikars and their supporters love noise and the rest of the population has to suffer.
For road construction extremely noisy machines are deployed. The corporation can afford to buy less noisy equipment for the sake of peace and tranquillity.
By the way, the machines the municipal corporation uses for road construction are way too noisy. Possibly there are quieter machines available in Europe which the corporation can afford to buy.

Construction sites are the main cause, also the trucks, dumpers, jcbs, and other construction site vehicles are very dirty on roads and when it runs of roads, it creates circulates dust everywhere.
There has to be strict guidelines that the trucks should be cleaned/washed before entering the roads.
This petition is just waste of time. Every people wants development it is part of human cycle. Every individual wants redevelopment to possess good housing flat to have better future. Every government wants to show development to people for getting reelected. Even if you complain in high court or supreme court it will be rejected because it is meaningless resolution. The people who are complaining here are themselves responsible for pollution by using private car, throwing garbage on streets, instead of living in joint family wants to live in individual flats by taking 20 to 30 years loans, wants to sleep in AC instead of using fan, always want to complain government for lack of development but the complainant has never done anything meaningful in life forget about serving country, wants gas connection in pipe line, wants high speed wifi and 5g internet connection, using 2 wheeler for going to remote distance instead of walking and list goes on and on. People hypocrisy is at different level, they will complain that new york and London is great city with excellent amenities but when our Mumbai City is under development to match those cities those low iq people will start whining and complaining about polution etc.
