The flasher's turning on every time you brake would get so obnoxious to me 😂
I bet theres a way turning it off with some sort of an OBD hack lol. TBH im surprised sportier cars don't give you the options to turn them off for track use.
New Ferraris do this as well in Europe
You can switch it off through coding, done it many times on the 595😅
Nearly all modern cars have them trigger with the ABS. With it being part of a safety circuit, I wouldn't be certain it can be disabled as those systems don't tend to have configurable options.

Loved this lap - thankyou Misha and to the owner. Most of my cars have been mid sized front wheel drive hatchbacks so whenever I see you do a fast lap in one I feel like I was only a few mods away from the same as you :P Awesome.

My gp had the 1.4 8v, long way off this abarth. You learn to drive fast on momentum though.
The temp gauge only knows 90 and 130! 😂 Very good lap as always!

@@nikky2660 Its standard in modern cars for the gauge to basically only show a "normal" and "too hot" temperature and not the actual real time temperature the sensor is seeing. I guess its so that non car people dont get freaked out when the temperature fluctuates as is normal between the thermostat opening and cooling fans kicking in.
The temperature gauge wanted to play with a Porsche, without it, the Porsche would have come much later or even not at all in front of the Abarth. 🤣

its a fiat, full of electrical gremlins. i had one that did it. i'd smack the dashboard and the guage would go back to reading normally.
My girlfriend had a 1.4 basic Punto. I miss driving this car so much... It has an amazing driving feeling, amazing stability, even though it had absolutely no power
I think more people are watching the footwork more than the other contents 😂😂

Nice lap. Check the cooling fan is working, the moment you slowed down and didn't have good ram air it got hot. Just a thought !
yes indeed it is bilstein b8 shock absorbers and another turbo but it was all so overpowering that i had no attitude and couldn't get out of my words to say that and the car has 240 hp but it didn't come out right but it is a super fun video

the chassis on these cars are quite good and also fun to drive. especialy with some mods, adding chassis bracing make's it even better :) honestly doesn't seem to accalerate like a 235hp abarth tho, with just a remap you will get max 200 hp
Ive driven even regular Puntos in the past and I fully agree. The chasis isn't your average hatchback and it definitely shows. Im quite sad they are super rare in my country... These things
are truly special for having all the fun an Abarth 500 can have, but they are more comfortable to drive because they are bigger and such.

@@thijss1272 The plus side on these cars being underrated tho is that in almost every market around the world they are much cheapers than the competition. And I wouldn't say they are extremely "unreliable" either. All the DSG VAGs products aren't what people would call super reliable.
Yes i gotta agree with you. With a remap they top at 200-210 (with exhaust and CAI) . I have a regular Grande Punto with a VL38 and it looks like it accelerates at the same level. Mine is around 180hp with Koni Sport (yellow) and Eibach 30mm springs. Same tires as in the video and gotta say it handles very well. Never had serious issues.
@@whitegptjet yeah my mito qv multiair with stock gt1446 turbo has 215 hp and 330nm on a very hot day at the dyno🤣 does have supporting mods like full exhaust, intercooler and intake

I like how you cut out or blur the view if there is technical malfunction or a crash in to the barrier and yellow flags/marshalls on the place.
It's not our business if someone crashes, let the professionals do the work.
I wish people would understand and stop taking pics and videos on the crash scene (and possibly causing more crashes because of that).

Does anyone else find it hilarious that Fiat indicates 270+ on the speedo and it strained to hit 200? People should be optimistic, but that's a bit much.
Mine got to 240 than the gearbox was too short
I find weird those bar style boost gauges that just show something but nothing that actually can help.
There is a way to disable the ESP but you need a software and an extra switch.
Thinking that the first generations Fiat Punto in 1993 had fully independent suspension, an Abarth was in the thinking but never made it to productions. It was revolutionary.
Then starting from the second gen they went torsion beam on rear. Such a shame.
Alfa 147 had independent rear suspenion. Great choice too. Handles very well after some mods and is the best track tool from that period in the class of hatchbacks from Italy from early 2000s.
Agree, 147 is still a beautiful car; unfortunately the engines were not good enough. It bears the sin to not ever being fitted with the 1.75 TBi later found in the 159. The V6 Busso on the GTA even if it's a charming engine was way too heavy and the other petrol offerings were a bit slow.
Can you imagine a 147 QV with the 1.75 TBi ? The perfect car
@@giovannifacci I wouldn't call 2.0 TS slow for 00s standards. That was 150HP which was way more than standard non-GTI Golfs and you still had the same suspension as GTA model, just less stiff springs.
But cars were much lighter back then and the 1.4 turbo it received was more than enough to make it quicker than many V6 D- and E-segment cars of the 90s, even when left in stock form. It was a handful in the corners though and the hammer-hit-in-the-back-of-the-head subtlety of the rather crude turbo setup didn't help. It's not hard to imagine why there aren't many left. Most of them got in the hands of dudes lacking even a modicum of Misha's skill and ended up in a ditch or wrapped around roadside trees.

The temperature thing might just be a Fiat thing. My completely stock Fiat Grande Punto 1.4 8V had the same thing on the Autobahn once. I got a temperature warning, the car immediately cut the gas and after 15-20s the needle dropped down to normal and everything was fine again. Fiat and electronic components aren't the best friends.

No matter the score with hp, suspension etc, lovely car and thanks for giving it a blast Misha. I still have my remapped up GTi and have it paid off and saved a bit, thing is GR Yaris or try and get a clubsport-s? I don't track, I just want something special!

@@Murphy252000 it’s insanely capable, has insane power reserves, only 400 Units and it’s currently somewhat forgotten.
It can hang with propper cars on twisties and it’s just solid.

235hp is only possible with a hybrid turbo or a different turbo as stock, a remap will not make it 235hp. 205hp is possible if you get a remap for E98

GT4 was probably just on a cruise lap or was new to the track. Either way overtaking it in a Punto was an achievement.

Have their niggles but the grande chassis and the 500 chassis is very good tbf. Pretty balanced, very point and shoot, not the best quality but fun car for sure 👌
Grande Punto is better than the 500. More nimble and stiffer frame too

At the end of the day, its the driver that counts... Maybe faster cars gets you in the straights, but better driver will always find you in the corners.
I think the essence of touris is me getting overtaken by an VW UP GTI on the outside in the caroussel in my R8, then printing the Pics and telling my wife that i overtook him on the inside. 😇

@@ChrisMintjes arounud 5:28 both of them say 'net te kort' which means 'just too short'. They're talking about the gear, it was just too short to make it to the next corner; you can hear Misha just taps the rev limiter. It was either that or change to the next gear which wasn't worth it for the next corner.

Nice, the full Monty again - speedo and pedal cam. About the car, I can never believe how you can make Powerflex driveable.. I tried slightly tougher rubber bushings than stock, that are nowhere near as hard as Powerflex, and they were already too hard for me. But maybe the coilover suspension compensates for a lot of that (if owner reads this, what setting was used on the B16)? Anyway, nice lap 👌👍

Lo stelo per molla ribassata eibach pro kit, o sportline è sempre giallo e viene chiamato b12
Lo stelo regolabile soltanto in altezza è chiamato b14 ed è grigio abbianto a molla azzurra.
Stessa cosa per il b16
Ma qui nel video si vede che lo stelo è giallo e la molla è rossa quindi si deduce che l'assetto montato sia un b12 con molla sportline.
Tra l'altro al 0:56 si vede proprio lo stelo per bene e la molla con il codice 113001002VA, stelo senza ghiera quindi non è assolutamente un b16

The temp gauge is probably not showing the real temperature. Just "cold", "ok" or "hot". My old VW worked like that. OBD2 would show much more temperature variation than the gauge.

it's normal. Hit the brakes really hard in any modern car and the hazard lights do fast flashing.

not once you can left foot brake. For me it's more of a challenge to do the switching in the right situation.

Hi Misha, that guy with the gt4 needs to sell that car as he does not deserve to own it because that was real cringe watching you overtake him and that's my favourite car of all time, so sad to watch.
Relax homie, you should be happy it isn't sitting in a garage. You don't know who and why they are driving it.

There is nothing cringe about going slow and letting others overtake. make and model is irrelevant and this is a public session, not a race. Also there is no "doesn't deserve"; if they have the money and want to get this car, then that's the end of the story. How they drive it is entirely their problem. Just because it can go fast, doesn't necessitate the driver to always go fast.
