Taylor Ray is showing its possible and minimally invasive to put a trans on the back of an engine in a C5/C6 vette with a Driveshaft and a quick change. It's time for Leroy to go under the knife and crank out a low 7 maybe evena high 6. The OG needs a resounding comeback.
I think Cleet has already been planning that for after world cup. They keep blowing up the Corvette trans, and the way to go stronger is moving it up front.
Maybe some alight Aero mods too nothing to change the look to much but still eliminate some bad aero spots and gain some Mph. Also if they do that might as well build the motor to mullets level or beyond and shoot for 6s. There is now 3 stick shift cars in the 6s and several in the mid to low 7s. Time for Leroy to make a comeback and be competitive again
If he can find one, the Aixro XR-50 Rotary kart motor would be a solid option. Very small footprint, makes 50 HP, and have proven to be very reliable. There just aren't many floating around in the US.

Part failure is the name of the game when your dealing with a car like mullet, we will all be here for that 6 no matter how long it takes. Just like when we where here for leroy’s 7
It is my opinion that a bad race weekend is still a good weekend because you took a car (or a purpose built vehicle) to the point that it was bettered by another pier that had the same goal and not getting upset that you lost a race or the event overall just shows how much of a true sportsman you really are
I could sense the disappointment in your voice Cleetus but I want you to know I along with most of your fans are excited for next year and happy you bring us along for the journey in Mullet.
put a benchvice on the shoppinglist for the trailer as for the transmission : i wonder if you need an ofroad transmission (input/output shaft and clutch houses) with the shiftkit and clutches for a promod , since youre car is pretty heavy and a promod is more of a featherweight with only a frame with a fiberglass shell , the offroad stuff is made to stay together in a heavy car under lots of torque up a mountan and over bumps , i think they can take more of a shockload compared to a pure promod style trans
Really fun vid- many thanks. That weekend looked incredibly tiring. Super job by the team and you all kept your spirits up and kept it fun. Racing a 7 or 6 second car is so much harder than it looks. We're all super stoked to see you nail the first 6. It's coming baby!

With all his money and support of company’s and people, he struggles just like the rest of us. Can’t wait till They get Mullet dialed in. Mullet has fought them for a year going to make them earn that 6. If it was easy everybody be running sixes. Thanks for bringing us along.
Truthfully trying to stay true to those said companies instead of just going out and buying what he knows he really needs but is from another company has been one of the biggest issues with mullets performance so far
Race cars blow up, because they are designed to run really close to the limit. Happens in all sorts of motorsports, mechanical failure doesn’t care who your sponsor is. For example James Deane lost at Riga this year because his dry sump drive belt failed 30ft from the finish line. The car had all the best arts, built by serious professionals, with big sponsors. Just because a set up is fast on paper doesn’t make it fast on tarmac. You are throwing in a huge number of external factors like weather, track, human error and wear and tear. Making a car “reliably run 6’s” is extremely difficult as the OP here has noted. It’s easy to say “if they ditched sponsor X’s product that would fix it” from the comfort of a sofa, it’s a lot different at the greasy end.
Cleeter… “we got problems”. Still, they do the best they can with that no quit attitude. Glad to be along for the ride no matter your outcome. Gotta say I enjoyed watching the clips from the stands too. Even when they are not racing they are cheering in the stands.
Seeing how much Mullet has struggled this year reminds me of Team Bigfoot when they introduced the revolutionary Bigfoot 8 Race Truck, a brand new generation of monster truck. It was the first of its kind with a tubular frame, nitrogen charged shocks, four link suspension. Bigfoot 8 was so new it took them a year of testing to get the truck dialed in, but once they unveiled it for the 1990 TNT Monster Truck Challenge Championship Series, the truck dominated, it was nearly unbeatable, it changed the entire Monster Truck industry. These guys have struggled for a year to get this beast into the 6's, but I think that come next year, Mullet is going to take the world by storm! This team and the people behind it are doing it the right way, and I can only see good things in their future.
@@DieselRamcharger Didn't used to be, back in the late 80's and early 1990's (1988-1990) TNT Motorsports ran a racing series very much in the vein of NASCAR or F1. It was open qualifying, no freestyle, straight-line drag racing for a points championship. Truth be told that was when Monster Trucks was a motor sport and not an entertainment industry. Sadly the USHRA bought out TNT Motorsports in 1991 and that all went away, but at the time I described in my previous comment, Bigfoot 8 DOMINATED the championship series. Bigfoot 8 dominated to such an extent that it was banned for two months to allow the rest of the series to catch up in points... it won the championship anyways. Sadly Monster trucks is just entertainment now, but for us enthusiasts, we remember the days when it was a real motorsport, albeit briefly. Here's an old TV broadcast from 1990 of a TNT Monster Truck event from West Lebanon New York that Bigfoot 8 won. ua-cam.com/video/aWjGSc7lcyY/v-deo.html
The turbo 400 will help but it's never going to be a consistent 6 second car with that LS, especially with steel rods and that weight. They have basically already acknowledged a high 6 will be the best possible pass, which means they will be rare. Grub Worm is a great example of what guys are doing, he was running mid 7's a few seasons ago, with a stick shift, and just put down a 6! Mullet needs a lot of work to compete because everyone else is getting faster every year.
Love the attitude after being out of competition. Right up in the stands with the fellas having a good time enjoying the rest of the event. Hell of a guy and team 👍
Finally a TH400! Been waiting for this since the car was built. Forget them powerglides. 400 is the way to go, especially in that car. G-Bodies been dominating with 400s for over 30 years. I bet mullet clicks a 6 it’s first full pass with that trans

@@Datight sure it would, lol. Even if everything worked properly, there’s always ways to make it go faster! Besides, the better they perform, the more exposure they get, and the more revenue they’ll earn to give us some more of that quality content they always pump out… but with working parts 😂
That is just a BADASS race trailer... I wish. The guy y'all lost to cut a nice tree and his 60' is 1.11 which is damn impressive as was his run overall. You'll get there.
Much as I love you guys and the channel, I gotta say that you guys have been so unprepared for race days all year. You need much more testing for all the cars before big events like this. Seems like you’re broken after first qualifying hit all year lol. Hope you get the cars dialed soon, because watching you guys at these events is my favorite thing on UA-cam
I can’t imagine how irritated you guys are, but as a viewer, I can definitely say that I am patiently waiting for just one clean event. Even if the car doesn’t go as fast as it can, I’d just love to see a car make it from A to B without losing a transmission or something else major lol. It seems like something breaks during every race, and it makes me wonder how the heck those other guys get their cars to work properly.
@@chappo8100 wish he spent more time dialing it in. Him balancing the YT and trying to be a competitive racer isnt working. he needs to get more seat and track time to work it all out. he just doesnt have the passes. to get a car to run well and run fast takes a few hundred passes. Everyone something is changed on the car and it seems every event something MAJOR is changed. So its hard to even get a feel for the car. A lot of the top guys have hundreds of passes on the cars entering world cup so Cleet is already on the back foot. Hope he can bang out some runs and get it sorted for spring

Between Kevin and Brent, may be the most positive people I’ve ever seen
I need to say before i finish this video, I 100% love the authenticity of jack stand jimmy. "let him leave at 15lbs and hit the scramble at the 60 foot." or the "I'm here for a good time not a long time." I love it!
Really appreciate the channel just showing us what happens. It's real and down-to-earth and just a good time win or lose which is why I think Cletus is so popular. Like you're more watching it cause these guys feel like your friends.
Got to say, you and your team impress me with your never give up attitude and staying positive!! Can't wait for LeMullets!
Best part was cleeter chillin in the crowd with the fans watching the races. Can’t wait to see Leroy’s video 😢😢
@Magie Ga Girl what are you doing? Do you know how many followers cleeter has!!!??? Your family gonna end up seeing this lol
I thought the same thing.

ol´ leeroy blew up his enige last week. a return of ruby and leroy is the thing i want to see.
I heard it will get a big overhaul over the winter and i think they will move the trans to the front too
I think Cleet has already been planning that for after world cup.
It's been done a few times over the years I remember watching a c6 make test hits back in 08-09 with a powerglide mounted up front.
Have to think that’s why grub worm (fastest LS H pattern I think, if not I think Minion has it) made it into the vid by name
You couldn't build a better group of guys, just a bunch of cool dudes living the dream.World should take note...
I think the best part is that yall didn't get angry and left at any point. Even at the end you just stayed, had fun and just watches so racing.
Still need a 1-rotor in the micro jet boat
Sounds fun. But boats need to be reliable…
@@lifewiththelakes have you seen any of rob dahms videos?
If he can find one, the Aixro XR-50 Rotary kart motor would be a solid option. Very small footprint, makes 50 HP, and have proven to be very reliable. There just aren't many floating around in the US.
@@lifewiththelakes Not only are they reliable, but they're far more tolerant of water. They have to be pretty much filled before they hydrolock.
@@MX304 I see what you did there with the “floating”😂😂
The persistence and positivity with the whole team is an amazing example of 'how to be' for the future generations of racers and car guys
One thing i really love is that they are not afraid to show failures That just proves even the best can get hit hard. :)
It's a grind but you'll reach your 6 second goal! Reminds me of you and James putting in work on Leroy to get his first 7. Each obstacle you overcome gets you that much closer to the prize!
I gotta say I have so much respect for Cleet & the crew with the commitment these guys put in to get Mullet racing and then filming and editing these videos for our viewing enjoyment. Love ya work guys from Oz!
So awesome to see the support of the crew and how many times has the McFarland army came through for Garrett in times of need especially at world cup and when your far away from help .. awesome you created such a tight group of friends workers and fans...
Yes!!! Been waiting all day for this since your IG post this morning!!! Keep up the amazing work Cleet!!!
Behind every loss is an opportunity to learn and improve. Can’t wait for what’s next!
It's only through such video's that we spectators get a feel for what it takes to go this fast.
Respect!
I love the trust and confidence Cleetus has in his crew.
"I say give it 15lbs and give my boy the scramble. Hit that shit at the 60ft." God damn I love racing
Hell yeah cleetus!!!! Mullet is one badass unit!!!! The content has been absolutely fire and having George behind the camera makes it even better!! And when jackstand said “put it to 15, and give my boy the scramble and hit that shit at the 60 foot!” That shit cracked me up🤣🤣
Cleetus’ will to please his fans, love him for that and he’s always positive. Learn and build!
Lol without fans the paychecks stop sooooo its a win win for both sides haha
Don't be sorry Cleeter. I'm sorry you guys didnt do better! Thanks for the content and better luck next time! Love that you still have a great attitude even after losing. Much love brother.
Absolutely LOVE hearing you talk like this brother; seriously!!!
This channel starts running in the 6s it will dominate this space on UA-cam
This event has been a bit of a wake up call for you guys and I hope you can take a bit of time to figure things out and come back stronger than ever.
I've been refreshing UA-cam all day for this video lol
Haha same was pumped to see it pop up
Same brother!
that man is a god. i havent been welding professionally for very long but idk HOW he got such good build up on those welds without melting down the edges of that fitting even a little bit.
Part failure is the name of the game when your dealing with a car like mullet, we will all be here for that 6 no matter how long it takes. Just like when we where here for leroy’s 7
Some people seem to have forgotten how long it took to get Leroy’s 7.
That rear axle GoPro shot was awesome ! The extension on the rear shocks 👌
I would Love to see a "Making Mullet a consistent 6 second car" series from Cleetus and the team!
In years of watching - the reaction of clerics to hearing about the oil leak was the most serious I’ve ever seen him!
put a benchvice on the shoppinglist for the trailer
as for the transmission : i wonder if you need an ofroad transmission (input/output shaft and clutch houses) with the shiftkit and clutches for a promod , since youre car is pretty heavy and a promod is more of a featherweight with only a frame with a fiberglass shell , the offroad stuff is made to stay together in a heavy car under lots of torque up a mountan and over bumps , i think they can take more of a shockload compared to a pure promod style trans
Really fun vid- many thanks. That weekend looked incredibly tiring. Super job by the team and you all kept your spirits up and kept it fun. Racing a 7 or 6 second car is so much harder than it looks. We're all super stoked to see you nail the first 6. It's coming baby!
Garrett,
Been waiting for this all weekend. Keep up the great work brother. Fyi inspiring the way you run your business and UA-cam channel
Cleeter let me tell ya brother you never disappoint me and I’m so unbelievably proud of how far you’ve come I’ve been watching for 6 years now and let me tell ya I can’t wait for all of the future content you put out bc I will not stop watching!
@JedStrogan lol this is the first event where they didn’t blow the tires at the line every single time.
The ups and downs makes the channel so much more relatable. Good luck

This team and the people behind it are doing it the right way, and I can only see good things in their future.
monster trucks are choreographed like wwf.

@@bobbygetsbanned6049 cleetus isnt trying to compete. hes just trying to hang with the pack.
Finally, been waitin all day for this moment of total freedom❤️
You don't need to apologize. I am still happy to see that your safe and have oil pressure. You never disappoint even when you loose.
I keep commenting this.. maybe they'll listen
Right... Been a long time comming... Why not go with this over powerglides...Its an obvious choice at this torque.
I almost feel like changing to a th400 will solve so much for you I'd hit up rossler man get rid of all your headaches .. you can still run rpm transmissions for everything else it's just Mullets so Thick lol
Confirmed in an earlier video that they've already ordered one and are just waiting for it to arrive. Think the wait for it was going to be close to a month.
Sometimes I wonder why they don’t assume that every part on that car needs to be able to handle like twice as much horsepower as they are running lol
@@taylordial1231 wouldn’t be content if they solve all the problems right away lol.
They should be able to put more gear in it with that and it will help a ton.
@@Datight sure it would, lol. Even if everything worked properly, there’s always ways to make it go faster! Besides, the better they perform, the more exposure they get, and the more revenue they’ll earn to give us some more of that quality content they always pump out… but with working parts 😂
Even though the pass on finals didnt work out it was great to actually see mullet go down the strip though! Thanks for the quick chat too!
Way to stay positive, trust the process, thanks for taking us along with you, I enjoy the heck out of it
Cleeter, you are a true sportsman. It is a genuine pleasure to watch your content.
You always deliver when I need a video to watch 🤟🏼 hell yea brother! Thank you!
Every "failure" is an opportunity to improve. It was cool seeing the footage at the end.
George is so amazing his reaction when you switched the engines was so hype gotta love him
Who swapped engines?
@@masterbates7016 This guy must have. After he fell and hit his head so hard he thinks George is funny.
@@RubbishFPS He is funny, but you're not.
I really have to give it to anyone that has a race car.. the amount of patience it takes is nothing short of amazing
really enjoyed this video, with the normal car vlog but also in the stands. too bad for mullet but excited for the new bulletproof setup soon!
Mullet has a ghetto trans, an actually capable trans is being built still.
Every racer deals with similar issues. Typically they are only running 1 car and don't have 3 million subs either
That’s racing
If it doesn't break, you are not pushing it enough
@@chappo8100 wish he spent more time dialing it in. Him balancing the YT and trying to be a competitive racer isnt working. he needs to get more seat and track time to work it all out. he just doesnt have the passes. to get a car to run well and run fast takes a few hundred passes. Everyone something is changed on the car and it seems every event something MAJOR is changed. So its hard to even get a feel for the car. A lot of the top guys have hundreds of passes on the cars entering world cup so Cleet is already on the back foot. Hope he can bang out some runs and get it sorted for spring
the world of drag racing ... from a 16 second pass to a 3 second pass... every pass you try to improve and spend a dash more money to get there ... love it
Episodes like this actually shows his heart is in racing and he shares it with us.
It's all about the journey, and the tough breaks will make the good results taste even sweeter. Such a great team around you, great cars, it will come good soon.
James’s two comments after the late night two step actually made me laugh! Also looks like Leroy needs to get faster!
Ole Kevin built a beast. Can't wait until Cleet and James get Mullet all dialed in. 2022 gonna be a total win fest for the boys.
hell yeah. they are just learning all the little bits and bobs. wait till they understand everything just a little more.
i know Cleeter must be so happy. (even though these little setbacks get him frustrated)
