The Eden - A Gorgeous 60%, But How Does It Sound?

The Eden is beautiful. It will be sold in stock through Mecha and cost around $420 dollars, which is on the higher side of things. The mounting methods are either tadpole (which I didn't get to try) and o-ring, which is a really fun combo to have and the board spots a very nice aesthetic.
Is this the best bang for your buck keyboard? No, absolutely not. You can pick up boards with more in the box for less than half this price point. But this board is visually attractive with a fun weight (which is probably a bigger chunk of the cost of this board, fun accent piece and gorgeous side profile.

NOTE: I noticed during the stream there was some odd metallic ping noise coming from the case. I figured it was either the frame was warped, or the sent over screws that didn't support the case properly and caused some rattling. After tons more testing and discussing with the Mecha team, it seems that it was a one off error and the screws we're the culprit, I left that in the VOD hyperlapse for transparency about the issue though.
EDIT: I also jumped the gun early on this video, the keyboard isnt actually live yet and is going live middle to end of Jan!

Maybe I'm not too far into the rabbit hole here, but I just don't feel anything for lavish designs on the weights. It's the place where I don't see when I display my boards, much less so when I use them. I don't mind if the keyboard occupies more desk real-estate or has wider sides, designers can try to put these kinds of details on the case where I can see them.

Gorgeous weight design but I don't care for the visible machine lines (especially at $420 lol) . So it def loses some points there. Def gonna have to grab some of those curry switches tho!

Perhaps for you a 60s good, but for me it's a paperweight so hopefully they'll consider at least a 75.

.. BTW obviously I've tried a dedicated keypad but the wireless versions are garbage, and none of them are very good. Also day-to-day I also need my function keys.

@@listentoAdamTaylor .. No, I said people that have money need a numeric keypad. Don't you do online banking? Do you ever reconcile any of your accounts? Do you do online trading? Do you do anything involving money at all in large numbers?
Most everyone watching this video won't ever purchase a $400 or $500+ keyboard and those that do don't want a 60. Even in gaming using a 3-key combo of keys is insane. A 75 adds one row and column. I prefer either a 75 or a fullsize keyboard. Also TKLs are pretty useless unless it has a screen in all that empty space.

I get that. But I mean that’s why people send out these boards, it’s not all for promotional purposes. it’s also to test them in different people’s hands, a lot of this helps fine tune them before they get sent out to people

@@Seeeaaan the L take is sending a sample out with a major flaw. products are measured by their worst product not their best. so sample or not its not a good showing for a product at that price point where there should be near perfection.

It's only a problem if the actual units being sent out to paying customers have defects so i'm not sure why you seem so bothered by it. From the way you speak I would take a guess that you are most probably the same kind of person would take the time out of your day just to tell others how they should spend their money. I can picture the likes of you going, " X keyboard is overpriced, my 100 dollar muddy sounding foam board sounds just as good" ☝️🤓. Nice bait but it's not even worth debating people like you.
