- Last summer while spotting at the Vancouver International Airport YVR I got lucky and got to see one British Airways Boeing 747-400 G-CIVP in the oneworld livery on approach and landing while another BA B747 G-CIVJ was taxiing and preparing to begin the long flight back to London Heathow LHR. Enjoy the landing, taxiing, and takeoff of these two nice jumbo jets!
Only missing the retros XD
Lovely work! I'm really looking forward to seeing these in exactly 4 weeks!
+Dj's Aviation Thanks! Looking forward to the footage you get of them.
Ohhh what a pleasure to watch! BA is my favourite JumboJet livery :) Fantastic video!
+matthiashaenni Thanks very much! I feel the same way, the BA livery looks perfect on the 747.
Perfect video footage... That inbound 747 pilot absolutely greased that landing...Passengers hardly felt a bump I bet...Also, that take off was amazing..He got alot steeper then I thought he could or even would do in such a large aircraft...Beautiful...Well Done....
+DodgerDog Thanks very much, I appreciate it! You're right, the pilots really greased the landing.
marvellous to see these still in action for BA, nice shot of the condensation on take off.
+Dez Rosswess Ya, I hope BA keeps the 747 on for many, many years to come. Such an iconic bird.
That was incredible witnessing two at the same time really enjoyed watching. Thumbs Up.
+Ed Whisenant Thanks a lot!
the A380 may have stolen her crown but the 747 will always be one of the most beutiful aircraft ever built!
+oskar elme Ya, nothing really compares to the iconic sight of a 747!
The nickname "Queen of the Skies" has nothing to do with size. The 747 is still the queen
747 will always be the best
Damm 2 British Airways 744s in one clip and a bonus one of them were in the one world livery love thee sound of the Rolls Royce engines to. Super catch thank you

Fantastic video of these two BA Queens! Thumbs up :)
+David AeroSpotting Thanks!
Flew back from Miami in September on BA 747 registration G-CIVE. Hopefully I might be wrong but that was probably the last time for me on B747-400 but you never know. The B747-400 best aircraft in aviation history
Very nice, the 747 is always a fun aircraft to fly on. I really hope to make it up again in one as well while they're still flying with BA.
Awesome video mate, amazing that you got two BA birds in the one shot!! Massive like :D

Back in the day when BA had 2 747's on the YVR / LHR run in the summer. Now serviced with one aircraft the A380.
Off season still done with the 747, A380 in high season May to October.

+Toronto Plane Spotter Ya, that will be awesome to see the A380 at YVR. I might have to take a trip down there to catch one of them.
***** Oh for sure, those A380s are very impressive!
This is an amazing video again of the queen of the skies!! I'm really happy British Airways still has a lot of 747s i don't like them to disappear :/ But your video is really excellent with a beautiful view on the takeoff and a fantastic engine sound! :) The other 747 arriving was also very nice to see especially in oneworld livery! I very much enjoyed watching this awesome spotting video and I hope you have a wonderful day! :)
Greetings from Germany! ;D
Pilot2101
+Pilot2101 Thanks very much! I really like to see the BA 747's as well, one of my favorites.
***** yeah one of my favourites as well! :) but unfortunately I have never caught a 747-400 so far. I hope I'll have the chance to catch one soon :D no problem, it was my pleasure :)

Really nice takeoff footage of the beautiful Jumbo! The last time I (Maxi) was on a British Airways Jumbo was around 1987, its been too long! Great video, Liked :-D
+Traveller Thanks very much! I hope you get to fly on one again soon, I'd also love to as well.
Are you sure that this wasn't at LHR? ;D Haha, fantastic video, mate! That's something special to see. Big like from me!

that's luck right there!!!
+CanadianAviatonFSX 12 It sure was! Thanks for watching.
I'm so privileged that I will be on both for my flight to the USA on the 26th October this year. I'll be on a British Airways Boeing 747 from South Africa(Oliver Tambo International) to London(Heathrow) and on an Airbus A380 from London to the USA(LAX)
That should be a lot of fun, great you're getting to experience those two interesting heavy aircraft. I still haven't been up in an A380 but would love to some day.
Lucky bstrd :/
Good evening! Beautiful video thank you so much! I have been very privileged to fly these stunning aircraft for 15 years but alas it all came abruptly to an end this year due to Covid (;-( Would you know what date you took this video? I flew CIVJ out of Vancouver in June 2015 and I'm curious to know if this was me.... it would be lovely if you could let me know. Kind regards, Annalisa
Hi Annalisa! That must have been exciting flying the 747 for 15 years, still one of the most iconic aircraft and it's sad to see the passenger variations quickly disappearing from the skies. I'm really glad I got to fly on them a couple times with British Airways. This video was filmed August 17th, 2015.
My fingers and toe are cross when I book my flight next year
Lindo maravilhoso ❤️❤️👏👏
nice
That's funny she still a beauty
Awesome catch of this majestic queen!! Is it common to have 2 at the same time in YVR?
+SwissCyul Thanks! I'm not too sure. I know that for the summer schedule, they have two flights a day, but I don't think their time on the ground usually overlaps.
They still beautiful aircraft I love to fly on one before airlines stop using them
The 747 is still one of my favourites as well. I hope you get to fly on one soon!
hardly seen a 747s anymore
It's true, they are definitely less common these days.
Me too I hardly see them anymore
BA are still flying theirs until 2024. So to are Lufthansa and Virgin
impresionante y en combo
It was really lucky to see these two together, an impressive sight for sure!
She stil beauty to watch
The Queen is still one of my favourites.
How often does the same airline arrive and depart together?
Nice job!
I don't think it's very often, one was delayed this day and I got lucky. It was definitely nice to see!
👍
Rotated right in front of you!
Ya, I got lucky this time!
I was filming in this location, I saw a British Airways 747-400 G-CIVA Landing on Runway 26R, check it out on my channel.
+HaaHaa HeeHee Nice, I'll check it out now.
Wonder why they stop using them???
I think just because they're getting older and they're a lot less efficient than newer twin engined heavy aircraft.
Probably because it is gay...=^..^=
How old are you?
BA won't stop using the 747 till 2024
