All these models with 144hz are a slap in the face at that price point. If samsung is selling theirs for $1200 regularly for 240hz im not recommending 144hz for $1100, thats insane.
At $900, they would make more sense and would sell pretty well. Having 1st place price tag with 2nd place features is a no-go.

@@MakeSh00t Refresh rates aren't free. They take more powerful and more in-demand chips in the monitors. For the type of people that buy 49" ultrawides, 144Hz is more than adequate. Personally, I'd prefer 240Hz+ 16:9 but that's just my preference.

144 hz is very good for single player games, it's more than needed. 100$ discount is fair enough, maybe 150$ would be better but to pay for 100 hz 100$ isn't that reasonable for not using them afterward plus burn-in coverage is quite important and it's not for free.

With the 49" 32:9 form factor becoming more available, would you guys be able to test/demonstrate the performance differences between, say, 1440p monitors in 16:9, 21:9 and 32:9? Is it possible to plug in a DP cable with locking mechanism, like the "Club3D CAC-1091"? At Alienware monitors this is a real pain, have to press the mechanism so hard to be able to push it into the port, cause the case of the monitor has not enough clearance to use such a cable.

Just some feedback - I don't think 19:08 should be called the "HUB Essentials Checklist" - "Essentials" implies that everything on the list is 'essential' -- that they are expected, necessary things -- that any red boxes are 'bad'.
But there are so many 'optionals' and 'would be nice not required' and even 'who cares' entries -- for example, "Built In Speakers"? 480hz? USB hub? There are lots of things that are far from essential and moreso luxuries. And there shouldn't be multiple tiers of things on a "essential checklist" (e.g. 120hz, 240hz, 480hz), thats not what an essentials checklist is!
I'd suggest changing the name of that bigger list to the "HUB Full Checklist" or something like that as it would be less likely to be misunderstood by a typical viewer.
Have the "HUB Essentials Checklist" be separate, and only include things that are considered minimum levels to be considered 'good' or 'worth buying'.
Since I'm late to the party here and this probably won't be seen, I'll try to remember to post this comment again early on in the next review.

The 144hz really do sting at that price point. With Frame generation becoming much more prevalent I feel like my 144hz monitor is really starting to limit my gaming experience. You have such a narrow framerate window where it's actually useful. You don't want to be much lower than 60fps base framerate when you enable FG, but at the same time if you're much higher than 72fps you don't want to enable it either.
Before FG I thought 240hz+ was something a single player gamer didn't need at all, because most current games won't run at 140fps even on top of the line hardware. With FG howerver a 240hz monitor suddenly allows you to enable the feature at 90 or 100fps and suddenly experience the smoothness of 200fps.
Maybe that's worth mentioning in reviews of 144hz monitors?

Just pointing out: a 49" 32:9 monitor is the same area as a ~38" 16:9 monitor. If you're comparing against regular widescreen monitors, that's what you should look at for the same price.
Also, 1800R is far too large. Nobody sits 1.8 m from their monitor. The entire point of a curved screen is to make all parts of the screen the same distance from your eyes so everything's the same size and so you don't need to keep refocusing. There is zero distortion only when the radius of curvature matches the distance between the screen and the center of your head (assuming that's the point you pivot around). 1800R is just curved enough for marketing purposes for people who actually want a flat screen but have money to burn.

I'm a dumb. Can someone explain to me how this is the same size as 2 27inch 1440P monitors? 2 * 27" = 54" not 49". On top of that the screen real estate on these3 49"ultra wides is narrower horizontally than a standard 27" 1440P monitor. It's like you are looking through a narrow letterbox. I've actually measured these in a PC shop and no matter how you cut it these 49" ultra wide 1440P monitors at the same text size % offer less screen space than 2 * 27" 1440P's. I keep hearing it's the same but I don't see it. Can someone explain it to me?
Also if you are going to choose this kind of monitor thinking it is the same as 2 * 27" 1440P's I'd strongly recommend going into a PC store and testing them. That is what turned me off this size when I was considering it, just too narrow.
There is also a very good test online from a sim racer where he compares 3 * 27" monitors to one of these ultra wides and show how much detail across the sides gets cut off in sim racing games compared to having a 3 monitor setup which is superior. Just saying.
