All three of these singers have been my favorite voices since I was young. There is nothing like hearing their voices and being transported back to my red firebird.
"Don't Fight It" should've been a bigger hit, it has so much energy. I remember when I first heard it I went, "Whoa! This song is just like a jolt of electricity!"

That is my favorite song of all time! It gets my blood pumping like few other songs ever have. Thank you for shining a little light on this oft-forgotten rock and roll CLASSIC!
This song came out when I was a senior in high school. One of my favs then and still is. I listen to it everyday on my playlist! 💜💜💜💜🎶💜💜💜💜🎶💜💜💜💜🎶Steve Perry and Kenny Loggins are an amazing duo.!
I love them all. Saw Michael and Kenny at the Minnesota State Fair in, probably, 1992. Steve Perry, David Foster? We are so Blessed to hear all of their music.
Love "This Is It" from Kenny Loggins. Steve Perry is to me the greatest male vocalist in rock. The range, tone and power of his voice in his prime was incomparable.....Here is a duet for you. Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer "Enough is Enough."
That album still is amazing after all these years and when I bought it, I never thought it would become one of my favorites of all-time. Very exciting to have learned of their collaboration upon buying it. A great duo performance on this track executed by two amazing vocalists and made it fire, but I always hoped they'd done more together. What a time to be young in an era when music was so amazing. Thank you, Mr. Loggins, for your gift and Thank you Professor for bringing to light the music of our day, let it never die. Blessings!
One of my fave duets, "Don't Fight It." Love this song, and you're correct! It should be more celebrated! Two of my fave performers, together. Wonderful!
I have recently rediscovered Kenny Loggins. Kenny is an amazing singer and song writer. I think he's under-appreciated and more people need to talk about and listen to his music. And Heart to Heart is one of the greatest vocal performances ever.
Yeah that was the 70’s but still a classic. Kenny did do a duet with Gladys Knight however, in 1985, called “Double or Nothing”. It appeared on the Rocky 4 soundtrack.
Great interview! I only wish Steve and Kenny would have a written and recorded more songs together. As singers, Kenny and Steve are the consummate professionals, not only in leading out but especially in their impeccable harmonies. I can only imagine how incredible it must’ve been in the studio for these two dueling it out Then putting the finishing touches on and making this song pop perfection!
Points off for not mentioning the gutsy and groovy guitar work of Neil Giraldo on “Don’t Fight It.” It’s the music that elevates this particular song and makes it a cut above the rest. Additionally, I’m a big fan of “Welcome To Heartlight.” That track is a magnificent, majestic, melodic, mini-masterpiece in my opinion.
Yeah Foster was really busy in the 80’s. He not only worked with Kenny but also produced & wrote hit songs for Chicago, Peter Cetera, The Tubes, John Parr, St. Elmo’s Fire soundtrack, etc.
@Saveth of El ... I'm not sure what Kenny is doing these days, but you can definitely still hear Steve Perry ... the Voice is making music again !! (Traces, released 10/2018) ... & he's still amazing !! 💜💜🎶🎤🎶💜💜

That song "Oh Sherrie" from Steve Perry, What a song!! .

Steve Perry, the Voice, is the best male vocalist of the '80s!
