I wish that Kenny Loggins and Steve ''The Voice'' Perry would sing another duet! I would have loved to hear the latter sing like Rod Stewart and I wonder if he still can?
Thank you very much John for asking Kenny about his time working with Steve Perry. I love Steve and I've always wanted to know the story behind this song. Steve does have one great voice. I wish he would have continued with the solo records. Thanks again. I really enjoyed this one.
I always loved Kenny Logan's songs, back in the days. He,Steve Perry and a lot of other singers from the late seventies, eighties were my favorites.Me and my siblings(me the eldest) used to do our chores in the kitchen. There we gathered, bolt the middle door,so my parents can't hear, and we listened to the top 20 best songs,on Springbok's radio. That was the program's name. David Gresham was the man who was the program man.Me and my brother used to dare each other, who's going to be the number one, one, one on the top 20. There's no more Springbok radio anymore. That was on a Saturday afternoon here in South Africa. We were happy at home.Me my sisters and brother. The twin brothers were to young.Happy moments with the 80 ties music.
Kenny LOGGINS and Steve PERRY are two of the most talented singers in rock history. Thank you so much, John, for this excellent interview and for your excellent work. Long life to Kenny LOGGINS and Steve PERRY, and for blessing us with their talents and music.
I LOVE Kenny Loggins and Steve Perry! Journey, my favorite band of ALL time, is not Journey without, Steve Perry. There's not one song that, Kenny Loggins, sings that I don't love. True legends. ❤
I think its because of this great song why they were paired in We Are The World. Their voices just compliment each other. Great interview! Thanks for sharing! God bless!
I was in Atlanta at a bar that had a dance floor on top and a jazz bar in the bottom sometime in the late 80s or early 90s. I was listening to the house jazz band one Saturday night when the band announced they had guests who were going to sit in. I saw Kenny Loggins and the saxophone player for the Yellowjackets, both of whom had played in concert that night, come up on stage and play a couple of tunes. I believe they played "What a Fool Believes." It was great!
Kenny Loggins your still looking 👋 good n hairy as usual. Ty for your single hits especially from 79, to 80s my favorite song is Heart ♥ to Heart ♥ quit beating yourself up we all do it.
Admits to therapy, not afraid to say I need help sometimes to grow, genuine guy - Kenny, you're the man in more way than one! By the way, you look great and hope you're healthy and happy these days, too.
Kenny Loggins I such an underrated singer, songwriter, and guitar player! What a talent and. “Class Act” Love his music, and his personality, met hi in person at the NAMM and was such a memorable experience! Thanks Kenny
Oh my goodness! Thank you. So introspective and honest. A wonderful interview allowing Kenny to speak and asking respective and poignant questions. As a Steve Perry fan and a Kenny Loggins fan it was just so fitting to hear his comments and your questions John.
High Adventure is one of my favorite albums. I bought the singles in hs but discovered the whole album in the mid 80s. it helped me through some tough times back then and i always love revisiting it. kenny loggins sings from his heart and i so love singing along. amazing man.
I really appreciated how clearly Kenny explained what many of us would be reluctant to do. And that is to express why many of us do therapy in the first place. We do it to better be able to process our emotional experiences. To be able to navigate where we are in our personal journey as a human being by being able to relate to others on a emotional level which is important when you are using the medium of art to connect with them.
Brother John! Thank you for this interview. I’m in my garage trying to put things in order. I have Madman playing in the background. It’s a beautiful day here in Utah. Have a great day. Shabbat Shalom. God bless.
Another wonderful fantastic interview John Beaudin! I’m really loving all of your great interviews you have been doing lately. Keep up the great work my friend!
Hmm, my emotional moment with Kenny Loggins was having him blow me off when I asked for an autograph. Also, at the time, he had really shiny hair LOL. Not a big deal but unfortunately when you meet someone in person and they have attitude it kind of sticks with you. No, I wasn't rude or pushy, he was just radiating waves of self-love. Or something. But anyway I was a Perry fan then and now - and he had the BEST voice. And hair.😁
Sorry, I don't buy the idea that Kenny wasn't familiar with Journey or Steve Perry before playing a festival concert with them. They were labelmates, Journey had hits with Perry long before Don't Fight It, and a number one album. I love Kenny's music, but was he so consumed with his own life that he didn't know other music besides his own?

Nice! I wish Steve would do some Sam Cooke covers. I have that song and they rocked it!
Amazing i love Steve Perry forever 😍❤️❤️❤️❤️
Steve Perry + Sam Cooke share the same birthday. 🎂
Underrated duet. Hardly played on American radio. 😖
I heard it often on the radio back then, pop & rock stations. Still hear it at least once a month on a local "Jack" station.
Love this song❤
Wow, Kenny a legend!
I LOVE Kenny Loggins and Steve Perry! Journey, my favorite band of ALL time, is not Journey without, Steve Perry. There's not one song that, Kenny Loggins, sings that I don't love. True legends. ❤
@D M Same here. There's no way.
Esta, Have you ever heard "Meet Me Halfway"?
You are so right. I haven't listened to Journey since Steve is not a part of the band. Not once. Kenny and Steve are fantastic together 😊
I have seen Journey live with Arnel and they are just as amazing! I used to think otherwise, but have changed my mind.
Two incredible musicians!
Steve has got some pipes!!!
Love this! Loggins and Perry are magic! Wish more male artists did duet type songs!
Great interview John & thanks for asking about "The Voice", Huge Journey/Steve Perry fan. It was cool hearing him talk about working with Steve.
I love Kenny Loggins! And he and Steve are dynamic together!!😍
I think its because of this great song why they were paired in We Are The World. Their voices just compliment each other. Great interview! Thanks for sharing! God bless!

"You don't get to know where you're going, you only know where you've been." Great words from KL himself looking introspectively upon life.

Just a couple of 70s greats doing what they do. Yes the SUPER 70S WERE BEYOND BELIEF!!

This is the song that broke the Yacht Rock spell.
John, I'm not sure I've seen better interview clips than these. Thanks!

It’s “ Whenever I call you friend”
No mention of the great guitar work on this song by Neil Giraldo, from Pat Benatar’s band?! C’mon guys!!!
It wasn't much of a talk about the song. Disappointed it didn't go into more detail.
