i feel a little conflicted about your choice of the buick special - since its cant participate in the unmodified requirement races. it can be an opponent, sure, but it isn't allowed normally, in say, the 1000 miles challenge - and this couldve easily have been rectified with a number of production cars from america, or the UK. AC 427 and shelby cobra springs to mind.
I’ve seen yourself, Kuru and a few others taking on these racing challenges, it’s amazing how we might be playing the same game and striving for the same goal, but outside of licences, our gameplay experiences/routes are completely different like you said. Just shows how great these games are to be able to carve your own path :)
I bought myself an original PS2 , memory card, an HDMI adapter and an 8BitDO adapter so i can connect my ps5 controller to it all for 100$ and i buy a bunch of games each month since most only cost 5 bucks or less online, some games i used to own back in the day, including this game, & others i have never played before. What's shocking is that most ps2 games are of better quality than games nowadays. I have more fun playing my PS2 than i have playing a PS5, and its alot cheaper. If i ever was short on money i would definately get myself a ps2 instead of a 4 or 5.
@@osprey_06 You can try Gran Turismo 1 in first, just because it's the first one. I'd rather recommand Gran Turismo 2 if you're not a huge fan of retro gaming, I think it adged better. They're are extremely easy to emulate, you can even do it on a low tier smartphone and connect a cheap Bluetooth controller to it.
@@osprey_06 Like the person above me said, GT2 is a pretty good game to get started with, it is what I first played (emulated) when I was getting into the series. GT3 is kind of like enhanced GT2 with less quantity and more graphical enhancement However the low res graphics of GT2 might not be appealing to everyone, and so for an alternative I would recommend GT4. Still easy to emulate, and it has tons and tons of content to keep you satisfied

I’m the kind of person that can get bored of a 10 minute video and not finish it, sometimes even a 5 minute video, but you managed to keep even a goldfish like me captivated for two whole hours. The pacing was great, the highlights chosen provided a great mix of action of just plain good driving (with the occasional sbinalla, always good to mix those in), and overall you just played extremely well. Great video, and I’m looking forward to seeing the extreme series whenever that comes out. I guess Most Wanted and Carbon will have to hold me over until then!

I always had this idea on how to play through this game and watching you doing it made me inspired to try to 100% without upgrades. My answer to that came in about 20% completion. No, you can't. Simply because of One-Make Races. Some of them have way too upgraded cars to beat. Still though, good content and I hope to see you come back to this game with a different challenge perhaps.
This is how I always try to play GT unless it's some impossible race where I have to "cheat". I prefer to experience how the car is meant to be driven.
DustinEden’s GT4 movie is the best single piece of content I’ve ever seen on the older GT games. I hope one day I can make a video that’s even half as good as that, but I’ll be hiring an editor to plan that out with if we ever get to that stage

If you haven’t tried it already for GT4, doing a few races at 200% speed in A spec is a wild ride! The handing characteristics on any car you use feels so much “sharper” while the braking feels like you have 8 piston calipers.
What if you beat GT4 with only Nitrous Upgrades Rules: 1. Tire & Suspension upgrades are allowed but no power upgrades 2. You can upgrade your car but only nitrous is allowed 3. Beat the GTWC in order to win this challenge
Can you do a tutorial on getting the game running and looking nice, I'm having issues with my install. Text sticking around blocking the gear recommendation and no time differences for time distance between other racers plus cars in the distance turn to pixels.
Near the 47 minute mark he mentions the lead shooting away... Is that literally just racing? Or have racing games been broken forever and Forza Motorsport just wasn't going to be the one to fix them.

They weren't even officially his cars, and even then, both of the cars together, when last bought, were worth less than my car when I bought it. And I got it for cheap. And I drive a freaking second gen Fiat Panda hahaha. Quite something to brag about, indeed. Both cars were absolute junkers and ready for the scrapyard... Which is were they ended up shortly after. So glad I don't have to look at that awful junker C230 anymore.
The skillful driving early on was nice to watch but, ehhh. I would love to see you do it with a different approach. Gold in every license test including S license lol. And spamming capri rally to buy a 4.5 mil race car for gtwc. Kind of feels against the spirit of this challenge. THAT SAID.... I'd love to see a challenge run where you beat gt4 with only buying/using cars that have racing stickers on them and no upgrades. (falken rx7, option stream z, the rally car prizes, manufacturer cars etc) A truck isn't a car so it doesn't count as buying a car. Seems like you'd have no problem setting this up with the required license test cars and it would be a fun route to achieve each of the cars for the required cups.

I love the renaissance that Gran Turismo 4 is having at the moment. For me GT4 has always been *the* reference for a good racing game

This was never in question, but you can play all of them up to 6 on PC thanks to emulators.
