So beautiful my daughter and I danced to its tune .it reminds me of a happy and safe place in my childhood full of fruit trees and my small baby goats .
Why do i love this?? My baby does too. These lullabies are calming and relaxing. I love the simplicity of the animation to music.. Unlike most animations these days these ones let your mind and imagination wander. Its just so great.
This is loosely the translations. Dinogad's shift is speckled, speckled, It was made from the pelts of martens. `Wee! Wee!' Whistling. We call, they call, the eight in chains. When your father went out to hunt - A spear on his shoulder, a club in his hand - He called on his lively dogs, `Giff! Gaff! Take, take! Fetch, fetch!' He killed fish from his coracle Like the lion killing small animals. When your father went to the mountains He would bring back a roebuck, a boar, a stag, A speckled grouse from the mountain, And a fish from the Derwennydd falls. At whatever your father aimed his spear - Be it a boar, a wild cat, or a fox - None would escape but that had strong wings.
My mind doesn't understand, but my heart does
That's what it's made for ! ;)
As a Welshman, it's so nice to see something that's solely ours. So much Celtic mythological is subsumed by Ireland that it's rare
Overshadowed maybe, not subsumed. We have plenty of myths of our own it’s just nobody talks about them.

Mysterious and beautiful.
It has a fantastic, whimsical almost magical feel to it.
This melody was written by Lynne Denman, a singer from West Wales. It is not traditional and she deserves credit. Only the words are old.
This song is beautiful, thank you posting it.
Music is the universal language of our deepest emotions!

Diolch cariad
beautiful. I wish there was an interpretation of the lyrics.
This is loosely the translations.
Dinogad's shift is speckled, speckled,
It was made from the pelts of martens.
`Wee! Wee!' Whistling.
We call, they call, the eight in chains.
When your father went out to hunt -
A spear on his shoulder, a club in his hand -
He called on his lively dogs,
`Giff! Gaff! Take, take! Fetch, fetch!'
He killed fish from his coracle
Like the lion killing small animals.
When your father went to the mountains
He would bring back a roebuck, a boar, a stag,
A speckled grouse from the mountain,
And a fish from the Derwennydd falls.
At whatever your father aimed his spear -
Be it a boar, a wild cat, or a fox -
None would escape but that had strong wings.
@@jadex179 thank you for that.
Beautiful arrangement and performance. Do you know who wrote the base melody? Or when(ish)?
It was written by Lynne Denman c.2002
I love this song so much. Is it available on iTunes?
Not only did they post the lyrics but they also posted the guitar chords in with the notes on the left.

Harry Potter’s mom was Welsh. Her maiden name was Evans - and it is a Welsh surname. So, she could sing this lullaby to her son…
