I have to say your channel has really helped me save big $$$ on our remdoel. I what your videos and did as directed. I had amazing results. I rolled and brush my house exterior and graduated to an airless sprayer. I have had contractors come in and comment how good my pai ted cabinets doors and trim look. I like sherman williMs urethane trim paint for cabinets furniture and doors and trim. However I hated all their other paint. I am so glad to have watch your recommendations for interior paint. I will be using BM Ben. Thanks so Much!!!!!
After watching countless hours of your videos I do have a question. If you had to pick your favorite wall paint for residential interiors which brand and sheen would it be? Thanks! 💪
I think Ben is better than Duration in terms of durability. I have used both quite a bit (certain designers or customers have their favorite brands) but I prefer Ben. It also touches up way better all the way up to eggshell sheens. Pretty comparable in price, but they're all way too much these days. When Aura was new it was all I used, but my price was $50 a gallon at that time. Then I switched to Regal once Aura was over $60 a gallon, and now I've gone to Ben. Retail on Aura is over $100 a gallon at this point! That has made me more of a bargain shopper these days.
@@joshuareed3999 You're buying paint from the wrong store. My local store gets $71 a gallon for Aura interior. I pay less than that with my contractor's discount.
@zone4garlicfarm I mentioned the retail price. Not my price. Still too spendy these days. I use Aura Bath & Spa at times because the $30 difference for one gallon on a bathroom project is worth it, but I haven't painted an entire house with Aura in years. It's phenomenal paint, but I can't justify the price anymore.
One can of my aura smelled sickly sweet when it dried. Been six months , less but still there. Was a darker color. None of the other colors smelled. Think I could paint over with this and cover it?
I've used quite a few different paints over the years and this paint has the best touch up ability of any paint I've ever used. One thing that makes Benjamin Moore stand out is their Gennex colorants. I painted wainscoating with Benjamin Moore Scuff X satin white dove and the walls Benjamin Moore Regal eggshell edgecomb grey. It looks stunning.
If you were advising a DIYer who was just going to need a few gallons to paint a couple of rooms, would you tell them to use Ben; or would you suggest spending some extra money for Aura? Thanks, Chris!
Hey! tell me what pressure and what kind of graco tip and how much water to add or water is not needed? My friend has a problem with this paint. stripes are visible after drying. I used to paint it without problems, maybe something new in the paint recipe? So what can you advise me?
boxing is when you purchased a mixed color in multiple containers (3 gallons in 1 gallon containers) you get a larger container and mix it all together to ensure you get a consistent color. It especially helps with touching up later.
@@bratvlad you can only box when you purchase multiple containers, doesn’t matter if it’s 5’s or gallons. You do it to ensure color consistency in case there might be a slight variation in the color that comes in one or more of the cans/buckets
I wouldn't go that far. Ben Moore has some great paint, but it's definitely overrated. I would take Cashmere, Emerald, Prominence and Ultralast over Aura. Ultraspec is definitely better than Promar 200, which is their rough equivalent but Speedhide is just as good.
After doing some work with the brand of paint the Big Orange Box Store sells, I can 2nd this, or at least the most reasonably priced paint. It is also the most available in my area (hardware store is 5 min down the street). I have not used SW, but more than one painter has told me that BM is better, including one who was painting with SW. Our local hardware store does sell some imported paints, but they are all upwards of $100/gallon.
@@Idahopainter Oh its great paint . Best is always subjective . Having said that , the best paint for me that Ive ever used was Sears Weatherbeater exterior paint .
Chris......I suspect you are becoming part of the machine . it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle , than it is for a rich man to go to heaven . So why doesn't this apply to you.

Is this product better then Duration from Sherwin Williams and what's the price range?

Duration is more like Aura than Ben. Ben is at the low end of Benjamin Moore products.

Just used this on a job. Semi gloss on trim. Drags like crazy , even with extender. Never again.

Just became available at my dealer and I'm pumped to try this out next week. SW cashmere isn't good enough for the money after all the increases.

Hi What’s box the paint mean ? I’m not familiar with that term . Thank you sir !
To mix it all together
One of my favorite paints to use for the price .

Try the regal select eggshell it’s an excellent paint less money and easier to use then aura.

There come be many reasons
Excellent paint,I think regal select and aura are the best, followed by cashmere, then Ben.
If you can't box your paint, buy the paint in pals with the same lot # or that are in the same case.
I think you recommend whatever they pay you to recommend.

Thanks For everything!

My Ben Moore store told me today that they have discontinued Ben flat texture.
What about cost? How much? What is boxing paint? Is that mixing paint?

Ben Moore is the best paint out there. Even their ultra spec smashes anything from Sherwin Williams.
