For me, it's The Spencer Davis Group's "Gimme Some Lovin" and ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man" You should also check out "November Rain" by Guns and Roses.
October 1987, a hurricane hit SE England, I spent that evening up an oak tree, swaying back and forth, listening to this album on my Walkman and watching everything fall apart and blow away, at 13 it was amazing, at 47 I realize I could easily have been killed. I'm still here, and so is the tree.
Oh man, Axl was so handsome. A unique and beautiful voice and Slash, one of the most iconic guitar hero 🎸. Best memories and time. More Guns please and stay rock🤘🏻
I’m an old 80’s chick , went to alot of concerts from these guys to skid row , the crue but the biggest was Metallica 91 , watching you two learning about the 80’s-90’s metal , even knowing about Bon Scott is impressive, good job guys! ( my kids don’t like my music so much)
I went to two Metallica concerts too. I don’t remember what year but I was driving so it must have been around 91 in San Diego. I think Soundgarden opened for them. I mainly listened to classic rock, new wave and alternative around my kids and The Cure is one of my 18 year olds favorite bands:) It’s funny(and awesome) to me to see Gen Z finding and listening to this and calling it classic 😂.
Back then a lot of bands, including some famous ones, used to put ads in newspapers, magazines, and trade publications looking for singers, guitarists, bassists, drummers.
What I always saw was posting boards located at local bars, and guitar/music stores. Sometimes at record stores, mini-marts and even high schools. Once you get a little higher on the food chain I saw a lot of networking. Many of the bigger bands recruited their musicians from other bands they were in.
Once I phoned a magazine to put an ad for me "Rock band looking for a bass guitarist" but they put it the other way around, and lots of people started calling me home thinking that I was a bass guitarist looking for a band. Hahahaha
Interesting fact, the part of the song where axl sings where do we go... they were writing the song and got to that point and didn't know how to finish it so axl just started singing where do we go, slash and the band started jamming to it and they kept it.
This reaction was supposedly from 4 days ago, I know that she said that she has heard of them before but never heard this song. I am almost positive that I have watched them both react to this song and many other Guns N Roses songs months ago. So not sure if I am buying the legitimacy of this reaction. They have been reacting long enough to know that you never pause a song, any song during the solo.
Rock isn’t a monotheistic religion and Best believe Slash is on the mountain with the metal gods. This song blew my eleven year old mind and it still hits so hard.
Slash, with his top hat, is the iconic guitar player for the band. He also played the solo for Michael Jackson's, Beat It. When Michael Jacksob asked him what it would take for him to come to the studio to play on the track, Slash told him, "a six pack of beer."
Eddie Van Halen played the solo on the studio version of Beat It, recommended by Jackson's first choice Pete Townshend. Slash played the solo onstage with Jackson during his 30th Anniversary concert.
These guys were instantly a cut above every other rock band from LA when Appetite for Destruction came out in '87. Guns and Roses was refreshing for lack of a better word. They weren't hard rock, they were very hard rock. So GnR put all the Motley Crues and Poisons on notice and then Nirvana finished the job in 1991 with Nevermind.
Rock music was becoming downright silly in the late 80s with all the faux metal hair bands out there. GNR and Nirvana were the shot in the arm the genre desperately needed. By the early 90s, all that hair spray and spandex was thankfully gone.
The labels saturated the market with pretty boy bands with that one hit ballad they all had. Bands were either too soft, or headbangers ball heavy metal. GNR was the perfect hard rock in-between with amazing songs and musicians!
Not to start an argument but I do not consider Motley Crue as a bad band at that time. Straight up rock and roll, party bands that put out good music. Both commercially a lyrically album wise. Just an opinion tho.
@@ketorecipiesandhealthystuf5539 Motley Crue has some good tunes. I'd definitely call them the best of hair metal bands. Unfortunately MC success spawned all the other hair metal bands, some good, some not, like any genre. All those bands outfits got tighter, hair got sprayed higher, makeup got piled on. I definitely liked their look much better in Dr FG era though lol. I'm really glad GnR ditched that look after jungle video lol.
The way I started band was begging my parents for a guitar, talk to my friends and find out who plays an instrument or could afford an instrument and get together and make a racket until we learn how to play our instruments better and now to play together better. There are many ways but that's how I did it.
I might be in the minority here, but it doesn’t bother me when you guys pause the video a lot. It’s because you’re reacting and talking about it, and feeling it!

Man I give you mad props for knowing both AC/DC singers names there’s a lot of rock heads out there that don’t know both names so I give it to you for that
The history behind gnr is fascinating and full of so much turmoil, they started off as two separate bands, LA Guns and Hollywood Rose and would often interchange members before coming together, as well as playing in other Sunset Blvd bands. The music scene of LA in the 80s was wild
Man I'm 51 yrs old. I STILL PLAY them on the radio & my guitar! hahahha.. I just put a few up too. Ya'll should drop in.. I got lots of covers, and some originals too. LOL T's up folks.
This song has a very interesting background, you should read the section "Background and composition" in its wikipedia page. the riff is basically Slash's guitar exercise.
