This album and Michael Stipe’s contributions to it are tremendous. I bought this LP when it first came out in 1985 at Sounds in the Village and then I bought it again on vinyl recently because I wore the first copy out.
The talent that is loaded on that album is just too much to bear: Stipe, RT, Lydon, Laswell, Worrell, Bley, Straw, Stamey, Lindsay, Kaiser, Jack Bruce (you kiddin' me?) and of course, Fier. No disrespect to Mike Hampton, Jody Harris and Nicky Skopelitis but I'm not as familiar with any of them. All parties involved should be proud of their work here. A true treasure of 1985. Thanks for posting!
Thank you for listing all those musicians. I remember when the album came out in the 80s and I was in high school and it was a big deal. Of course anyone with good taste in music would buy this album
I saw all three Palominos reunion shows a few years back in NYC, and finally having seen Jody Harris live was amazing, he's fantastic believe me. Anton wouldn't choose anyone scrubby, I daresay.
Thanks to KSTM FM for playing the hell out of this song back in the mid 80s. I went out and bought this album on cassette and still have it and now I have it on CD as well. Amazing song!
I have loved this song for , well 25 years I guess! It's been on MANY mixed tapes backm in the day. Nothing beats Stipes voice here! They were a well kept secret, too bad.
Now that's a remarkable song sung in such a way to captivate the crew. Of note is that the DJ of AM FM healing sent MeRAK this Hue today at 8:55 AM via Chicago radio WXRT. A miraculous message just one day before bosses day to Huf into the mic. And with that tone a HUG goes out to Sandra Annette Bullock our orange Santa at the HuLL,
Geez I remember when this album came out I was in high school. It was a big deal. And yes, kids I mean “album” not the CD or download. We bought actual records back then.
I've got several videos of possibly all the footage, some rough cuts and what are labeled the final cut as I produced the video for Robert Longo. The videos were in storage I just found. If anyone with rights wants them, just let me know.
You can keep your apology. No one wants to hear your apology. Haven't you figured that out yet? Stop making apology culture and setting a bad example for others. It is not dignified.

Caught 'The Golden Palominos' Live in Boston and Michael Stipe sang 'Boy (Go)' and "Clustering Train"
Niiice! I’m in Boston
I never even saw this video back then, had no idea there even WAS a video for Boy (Go)!
Loved this video

Always loved this tune. Only 630 views? Criminal. Best song Stipe ever sang.
What?
I own this album. Bought it when it came out. Still listen to it too!
Wow. Don’t throw it out ever
Same here. Too bad stipe turned into such a dweeb.
80's Amazingness!
I love this , and special thanks to you for your efforts.

Sounds just like I remember it on the AM radio.
Great song you never hear
Never heard, either.
MrPhilrand THANX for the upload of The Golden Palominos - Boy (Go).I saw the video as well as its music in it in 1989.
Is that Richard Thompson or Arto Lindsay on guitar?
Epic and iconic
Thank you for posting this! I've hoped to see it again for quite a while.
Good stuff!!!
verygooood!!!
RIP, Anton.😩
RIP Anton. :(
@MrPhilrand It is definately richard Thompson... wikipedia needs to be corrected
Richard Thompson on guitar.
Hell yeah !
Anton Fier: RIP, sir.
Michael Stipe looks really cool in this clip...
No need to apologize. This seems to be the only copy of the video available for this awesome song.
I've got several videos of possibly all the footage, some rough cuts and what are labeled the final cut as I produced the video for Robert Longo. The videos were in storage I just found. If anyone with rights wants them, just let me know.
directed by the visual artist, Robert Longo
Brilliant !
Great Bro ! A classic. So hard to find !
R-IP Anton Fier (June 20, 1956 - September 21, 2022)
First time I've hear this. Awesome. can't find the lyrics online...anybody have them?
Arto is on that album but this track has RT and Jody Harris on guitar.
But in the 80's when MTV was new and worth watching, we thought we were really watching high tech stuff!
This was directed by Robert Longo, a renowned visual artist, so this was high tech stuff.
Cool.
I'm pretty sure it's Arto. At least according to Wikipedia.
Omaha was the other Stipe vocal “hit” from this LP. ua-cam.com/video/ZUOydnBWCyE/v-deo.html
