I forget which instrument Chris played and which Ben played but one had a mandola and the other the mandolin. Guess it’s like a viola & violin in that one is deeper. Either way, lots of fun.
So underrated. It holds up against anything else they ever did. Never got it's due because it wasn't Superunknown part 2. I didn't appreciate it until they reunited and now it's top of the list for me.
@@TheJpsutton I don't think they ever put out a bad song or record. They were very big on doing what they wanted and they had a very high standard, and they also had their legacy in mind as well. Like I said in the other comment, I didn't appreciate for the longest time. This was a cd I would cherrypick songs and leave it at that. I hold this album in such high esteem now because they were exhausted and running on fumes and hit a wall, and STILL had it in them to put out such a strong release. It's hard to argue against the two that preceded this album, but to me it's every bit as good and they ventured even further into unknown parts in writing and performance. Once you've taken in all the songs, it's the singles and hits that actually take a back seat to the meat of the album. They never disappointed.
This song had me playing with the mandolins at the music store back in high school. It's so cool to see DH enjoy the song so much that he couldn't help but play along.
you must listen well to this album, oh there is this great song called "No Attention" that is like the best song that nobody knows from soundgarden it is so good and special to me. How is it possible that it sounds as incredible as it did 25 years ago!!!
100%, if David liked the pacing and feel of this song, he'll love No Attention. With the added bonus of Soundgarden having some fun with the time signature of the song and IMO, cleaner vocals than Ty Cobb.
LOL David, That was really fun! Great song, great reaction/review and just loved how much you enjoyed it. That moment of contemplation was priceless. Very happy with the 8.5 as well, thanks DH. ✌
Such a good album. It is short than Superunknown but all over with styles like Superunknown. Half fun and half serous as heck. It’s not as mentioned as some other albums but definitely deserves all the recognition.
This is probably in my top five favorite Soungarden songs. If you want a good song for the gym, this is a good one to add to it. Always gets me fired up.
It’s cool you enjoyed this because I mentioned this in another Soundgarden reaction (Kickstand?) you did and I’m proud of myself for being able to anticipate that you’d enjoy it.
a lot of these people pass these albums by after one listen... just throw them on your random playlist... some of their work grows on you and you can never unhear it once you do it right.
glad you got on with this one. it honestly blew my mind when i was 11. its like this grenade of a track, just put there on the album to blow your face off.
Was pretty sure you were going to like this before I watched it. I borrowed this album from a friend when I was a kid and this was one of my favorite songs on it.
I'm really surprised people are recommending songs like Ty Cobb from soundgarden when there are still early bangers like Incessant Mace and Smokestack Lightning that are miles better. I personally recommend Smokestack Lightning by Soundgarden, if that's not already in queue!
I wasn’t sure if this song was gonna cause problems. Because I know the lyrics on the chorus, and they are not family friendly. Chris screams “Hard-headed, [bleep] you all” repeatedly. It’s an angry little punkish number. That said, I never thought I’d hear someone describe a Soundgarden song as “fun”. Because , you know, not exactly their forte. But hey, if anyone can get a kick out of it, more power to them.
You should react to some Falling in Reverse or Megadeth! Love your reactions, it makes it better seeing your music knowledge being put to use at certain parts.
Hey it's not stealing. Stealing's when you take something and the other person doesn't have it any more, and the other person not having it any more is the nasty thing about it. We're not thieves, we're all remixers and inspirees. :D
Yeah.. its imposible to make new riffs and stuff, no one used before on a whole album, you might make 1 or 2 songs with that, and rest proberly have stolen parts, and thats fine, if you can make a good song this way, without making it sound 100% like the original ,go for it, use the base of knowledge others created.. imo its nessesary unless your the nr 1 composer in the world or something close.. and its stupid to not use what others discovered in music.
Punk hardcore grunge using a mandoline. Love this álbum.

This is such a good album

@@artis1969 was the first soundgarden album I listened to in full. Now having listened to all of there albums I still think it's the best of them all

@@artis1969 I agree
This is the best album.
this song is hard core. cant wait to watch your reaction.
Love the mentality soundgarden had… “hardest track on the record… lets use bluegrass instruments on it”
I know the guy who wrote the bass riff in Rusty Chain, he auditioned before Ben or Jason, they had his demo. Teaches at School of Rock , Jon Graf
Great reaction! Was fun watching you listen and follow along 🤘🏼

Overfloater tho
One of the sickest Soundgarden songs , love this song, kim playing a bazooki ? IDK....very SICK song!!!!!
This song totally has the attitude of the real Ty Cobb.
This whole album is often overlooked and vastly underrated.
Ben Shepherd the bass player wrote the music to this song. Makes sense you wanted to play it. :) He writes a lot of my favorite SG songs.
LOL David, That was really fun! Great song, great reaction/review and just loved how much you enjoyed it. That moment of contemplation was priceless. Very happy with the 8.5 as well, thanks DH. ✌

haven’t heard this one in awhile it’s so underrated and one of their best. 🤘 🔥
Yeah, this was entertaining to say the least, watching you have so much fun with a song from my band that almost nobody knows, lol!
Such a great song.
Glad you liked this. The album is great and the bass player contributed a lot to most of the songs.
If I remember correctly, Ben wrote this one.
Thank you my friend! Thanks for taking my request! Knew you'd like it! Fellow bassist here!
This is probably in my top five favorite Soungarden songs. If you want a good song for the gym, this is a good one to add to it. Always gets me fired up.
Soundgarden ❤
Now this is great!!!!
David I've never watched a bad reaction with you always keep me interested learned alot here
It’s cool you enjoyed this because I mentioned this in another Soundgarden reaction (Kickstand?) you did and I’m proud of myself for being able to anticipate that you’d enjoy it.
Great video. You should check out Soundgarden’s Kristi. As a guitarist I dig the solo and stop.
I knew you'd like it! Told you so in the Soundgarden's Kickstart comments 😂🤘🏽
Yussss, Punk soundgarden might just be my fav soundgarden

This was so fun to watch!! I'm glad you got so much enjoyment out of this one, DH. This was a pleasure to watch, it really was.
Soundgarden should be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame smh
Your shirt fits this song
Yeah!🤘It was fun definitely. Can't wait for Limo Wreck too.
Nice review. 👍Enjoyable to watch.
A lot of memories from this album! Amazing! Such a hidden 💎!
glad you got on with this one. it honestly blew my mind when i was 11. its like this grenade of a track, just put there on the album to blow your face off.
Not one of my favs, but I love Soundgarden overall👍
Hope to see you react to Never the Machine Forever too at some point, it's off the same album
they switch shit up. its a band for artists that non-artists enjoy too.
If you could bring Ty Cobb (that rotten s.o.b.) back to life and let him hear this, I wonder what he'd think. 🤔
I think this is the best song from that album. I liked it so much, it made it to my car playlist!

I get 'spin the black circle' vibes from it. Also why is ty cobbs name on it?
You should react to some Falling in Reverse or Megadeth! Love your reactions, it makes it better seeing your music knowledge being put to use at certain parts.
I was waiting for it, and waiting for it... but no, not a single mention of the banjo? OK...
Such a great song, annoys my wife when we're listening to this album. Tighter and tighter off this album is my favorite Soundgarden song.
Good
Ty cob would sharpen his cleats into daggers and then slide 🛝 into home plate feat first..f u all😅
It's punk Johnny Cash

Easier to replicate, than create.

I wasn't in love with the song at all
