Just found this video. I think, conversely JFM that you can actually find greater power in powerlessness. It forces one to be creative and to stretch and grow without necessarily surrendering. If you are being true to self, you assimilate the experience and grow past it.
@JFM135 The reality is that we are already venerable. Shame is not all that we have to contend with. There is also fear and insecurity. Brené Brown is suggesting that we acknowledge that we feel insecure and to have the courage to admit it. To own our whole story. Not just the parts that we think others will find appealing. The higher power here is truth and self awareness. Freedom is never achieved through surrender. What you talk of is subservience.
