- Sorry for the mistakes and the messy ending :D I've been playing for a little more than 2 years now.

I'm still planning on making covers, but I took some guitar lessons a few months ago, and had to change my technique at some places.. Takes a while to get back at the old level.. but I'm looking for some good candidates now!

Guys, tabs are indeed easily found on ultimateguitar.com. But never go easy on them, lots of them contain small mistakes, trust your ears, always! I did not before making this video and hence I played the fast part of the solo wrong haha. >

Just make sure you have a lot of mids in your sound. No mid-scooping at all! I don't know anymore how I exactly set up the sound, sorry!

A question by the way- Do you only use down strokes? i have played for like a half year, and i just learned this song, i find it very hard 2 learn up/downstrokes and use em fast. TIPS :P ?
^^ do you mute the top string when u strum with you're palm or finger? i just cant see how you do it :P or do you just dont strumm the top string ?

Eh, string gauge was quite massive, since the scale length of the guitar was pretty short. I think that at the time of playing it was a set of 70-14. Zakk Wylde Boomers I believe.. But if you have a longer scale length I would recommend thinner strings!

I downstroke the main riffs, and the fast parts like 0:47 are alternate picked. Sorry for the low fps webcam ;D The only thing I can recommend on learning to alternate pick is to take it really slow, and make good steady movements. Grab a metronome and when you really get used to how it feels, play it a little faster! Practice, practice!

Ah yes, Moncef nailed it. Sorry for the slow reply! It is an LTD EX-400 BD to be specific! It was a really beautiful guitar but I sold it 2 years ago and got a 7 string instead!
Regarding the LTD; last version of that guitar was produced in 2007 I believe, you might be able to find a second-hand somewhere, if you want one..
Qu3ridity One does not simply sell her/hi's guitars. just to get a new one. which could be some fucking piece of shit. I got an Ibanez. But i want a new one too. but i would never sell my Ibanez. That would be the biggest mistake i cant live with.
Derpy Viking Often true, but it was neither my first guitar nor a very special one to me, and to me the explorer shape proved to be very uncomfortable after a while, so I got myself a Schecter Loomis FR-7, never regretted the decision for the tiniest bit haha. ;)

Thanks! :D Tuning is BEADF#B (B-baritone for 6 strings). If you have a 7-string you'd better use normal tuning for that BEADGBE. :)

i have been practicing like f*ck since yesterday and now i am looking for the exact tuning for the song, but many sites says BEADF(#)B, but it sounds like shit in that tuning... please say what tuning you play it in .. rlly wanna get all things right xD
That's the correct tuning man, B Baritone. The notes I told you about yesterday are played on the high B. Maybe some people have tabbed it for a 7 string, which is tuned in BEADGBE, so probably all you have to do is shift your note 1 half step up or down.

Always mute everything that you don't hit. Always. Everything. ;)
Might take a while to get used to but you'll play 1000 times cleaner when you master silencing the strings you're not playing. So yes, I'd advise you to mute it and also avoid strumming it.

Hey, eh I've learned the song by ear, but I just checked, and ultimate guitar has a guitar pro tab of the song, which is quite accurate.. If you don't have guitar pro, try TuxGuitar, it's freeware, and it basically does the same job!

Which string you are using?
GHS Zakk Wylde Boomers. Really really fat string set, I had to drill out the hole in the tuning peg because the .70 didn't fit in. Tuning in B with this short scale length might not have been the best idea!

What I played in this video: 17-15-12 (repeat 8 times) 19-17-15 (repeat 8 times)
It's not correct to the album version though, but it's surely a lot easier, but at the time I didn't hear that I was playing it wrong. It sounds good, same scale, same rhythm. But triplets instead of the 4 notes Amon Amarth plays.
I can the first 1 of the song :P and then i just need 2 learn what line 2 play it on :) so i will practice more on the solo, the hard part :P and i can play the pre solo riff :P thanks ! !:)
