Not only is it nice to see this popular couple's camping travel trailer layout make its way into a more affordable "stick and tin" price point but frankly.. it's nice to see it executed so well! I was afraid it was going to look/feel "cheap" when I saw it. But considering the price point.. I was pleasantly surprised!

My majic wand would get rid of the tv cabinet and add a regular cabinet then I'd put the tv on a televator keepingboth counter and cabinet space. Walk through bathrooms are awesome and im glad more manufacturers are adding them to their lineups.Definitely a travel trailer to keep on the list for me
I don't hate that!
Very nice Springdale with very good kitchen counter space👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊, Josh I really like this one!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊 I really appreciate Springdale still using floor vent heating👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊
They used every foot of that trailer perfect. Great dinette and couch for TV. A lot of people don’t want to pull around a 35ft + camper.
I’m one of them!
TV: Install a heavy duty bracket mount and build it out so the tv can be in front of the shelf allowing you to hang a larger tv. You'll also need to build out the latch to secure the tv for travel. By doing so you will create the perfect space to put a DVD player in or simply storage.
Makes sense to me
Or maybe a good solid door on the boxy thing, mount the tv bracket to that.
Nice idea! Solid door. Hinges on the right. Stationary mount with up/down tilt.@@JamesMcLaren1000
@@JoshtheRVNerdNice idea! Solid door. Hinges on the right. Stationary mount with up/down tilt.
I dont know why Springdale isn't a familiar brand to me, but should be. This is great, fantastic without the TV cabinet. Thanks, Josh.
I haven't had a chance to record many over the past several years but they've been around for a while. Not long ago they were the 2nd best selling Rv brand overall!
And of course don’t forget to officially join the official “Josh the RV Nerd Official Fan Club” -Rise and Shine Campers
5th option for the tv: Secure a wood block to the 'tv mount' spot, then mount your swingy tv arm/mount to that and you'll be able to have whatever size tv you want. That'll also leave the cabinet space empty for cd/dvd storage. Ez Pz :)
👍🏻
I prefer the walk thru bathroom. I really like the bigger bathroom. I like the ones where you have a water closet.
WOW Josh that Springdale look Terrific! Keystone is one of those brands that know what they are doing! Thank you Josh!
They're certainly not new at things!
I like the split bath with shower and terlet on opposite sides. Gives you some of the advantages of the walk around plus people can shower and terlet at the same time.
I am one of those people that a walk-thru or walk around bathroom is not a big deal. They each have advantages and disadvantages so in the end that would not be a deal breaker.
I have come around and now feel the same. In a couple's model I don't care. In a family bunk model ONLY having a walk-thru bath does feel a little problematic
I would lose the box..that way you could put a bigger TV .shelf below it for DVD player..TV straps would be a plus.😁
I understand the reasoning for the box as it holds the control panel high. I would suggest move the control panel down by the fire extinguisher. There's that room on the right side of that cabinet above the breaker panel.
TY!
IF it's not a REAR BATH, which are generally large, a walk-through is the next best thing or just as good and totally fine with me.
I used to really dislike them but after spending some time in them and learning their benefits I've come around. I rather like them in couple's models
But I can see them being a challenge if they're the only bathroom in a family camper
Thanks Nerd!! Pass-through bathroom has my vote. Portch'n!!! Add the detached ladder, no reason to encourage people to NOT go on the roof.
portch'n lol :)
Love the cabinet vs. a fireplace
TY!
The TV space should be big enough to allow for a 55-inch TV I know that may be extreme for some but depending on the distance you're sitting away from it and it looks like a 55 would be ideal here they need to have a spot big enough for that but then on top of that they need to have a shelf behind the TV where you can place your consoles because let's be honest even adults are playing video games at this point.
We have a Springdale (2021 202 RD). We've been very happy with it. Regular maintenance, as with anything else, keeps it looking and functioning like new.
*The shelf above the bed is great for hoodies, extra blankets, etc. *This floor plan is really nice! I love the counter space, and like you, feel they did the right thing by keeping it functional.
*I am indifferent about the TV box, but I see your point.
*Nice that gas struts are included to hold the bed up. We added those on our camper.
*I like the walk-through bath.
*The awning is more than adequate, and I'm happy to see an outdoor fridge.
Thanks, Josh!
That 202RD is a good model!
That is a pretty cool TT for a couple. I like the rear dinette with the floating table. As for the TV, maybe make the opening bigger by making the facia thinner.
Thanks for the tips!
Overall i would prefer a dedicated bathroom over a walkthrough. My other suggestion would be pop a door on the read with access to the back part of the u dinette. easier to get in and you could put stuff that you might need to make a campsite a home.
I call that "Junk in the Trunk" Storage
I like this floorplan alot

Love a walk through bathroom.
They’ve grown on me for couples models
Walk through bathroom is the BEST! Love the counter space in kitchen. Would love to see the sink moved to the right of the stove to allow more space to do dishes. Sliding doors are also preferred whenever possible.
TY!
I LOVE THIS LAYOUT! I bought an 'RB' version for bath space with this seating/kitchen design, but THIS gives me theater seats AND the GIANT dinette AND the bathroom is still roomy. Wish I could do a 'swap!' 🙃
Nice rv and my take on the bathroom is , I would never have had a walk through bathroom when there was 4 kids with us , but now that there is only 2 of us I wouldn't mind the walk through because it allows so much more space. My favorite plan is a toilet and shower together in one room and a separate sink in the hallway area.
That's kinda how I feel - walkthru baths are fine for couples but not great for family use
I'm not in the market right now. Been there and done that with a Geo pro and never again with any of these types of campers. I do t really care about floor plans, etc. Just want something that is not going to fall apart so easily. I just happened to be able to see the inside of an Oliver travel trailer owned by a neighbor and I was floored. It was not made with all those crappy cabinets that fall apart. Looks worth the extra $$$
Not bad at all! Decent counter space, solar, cool little outside fridge. The short bed kind of kills it for me, but all in all, a nice rig!
Yeah the bed is my biggest hangup as well
Love this.
☺ TY for sharing!
Love the huge living room and the kitchen! Love the power outlets in the kitchen! Love the bedroom. Nice update on the colors. Love that is has a oven. The bedroom is great. Love that I can put in a trash can. Wish it had black out Shad’s and struts. Love the outside color. For a cheap camper is nice. Thxs josh.
Yeah for the budget I think they did well!
Great floor plan!
I thought so too! TY for watchign
Just a ladder, Goodyear tires, a porcelain toilet, a shower door, a true queen bed and a sofa “option” for the diner booth dinette this RV goes from nice to awesome💥💥💥
I really love this floorplan and specifically this model with the squared counter and storage over fireplace 10 out ot 10 times. One thing I would change . I've never seen done but instead of cabinet over dinette and up down bunk like a toy hauler would be something I would pay extra to get
Ooh that's a cool idea..
That is set up almost like my keystone cougar 24 Rds
Yeah super similar layout
Take the TV cabinet out. I would put the hinged TV mount.
TY
Lose the box keep the TV hookups. I don't personally watch TV but most people do. I need the oven, glad they kept it. This is a TT I would seriously consider.
Right. Just have a mount on the wall.
The TV’s (or location where you can put one) seem to be an afterthought. Love all the storage, love the kitchen, love the dining and theater seats. Shower is a bit small, I would definitely do a full queen, and there’s no water saver feature for the shower. But, I think this one could work well for hubby and I.
Yeah not really made with a lot of boondocking in mind so they don't tend to include that stuff (though it's a nice feature)
Kill the box.
Agree on the counter's lack of angle.
I am finally OK with walk through bathrooms. As long as it's not a bedroom trap.
I've come around on walk-thru baths. I used to dislike them but can see the benefit in some cases now
I think they're best for couple's-focused models though. A little more of a challenge for familiy-use
I'd like a bigger bed! Hubby thrashes when he sleeps!, I've had to go to a king just for him so I don't get beat up in my sleep! LoL.
We had a queen until we got a dog. Even a little dog eats up huge bed space lol
good video Josh
Glad you enjoyed it
A REAL CLOSET for clothes.
Also, you could mount the TV on a swing arm & cover the box can be used for more storage.
Someone else said something similar. I like that idea
Keep the walk-through bathroom (love ours), leave the no TV, and just put a bracket but not necessary. We don't have a TV nor care for one in our camper. So they could just make that area a cabinet personally. Pushing for drop-down brackets is not necessary, it is not that bad when reclining and just adds cost.
I agree with the improvements here with Springdale. I briefly owned a 2019 and was not impressed with the quality at all. Also, my vote is for walk through or rear bathrooms for the exact reasons you mentioned.
If you fire up the wayback machine and look back thru the history of the channel you'll see older springdale videos. You'll often hear me talk about them staying out of the shop - and man that was true. They were nearly bullet proof. I know of only ONE with major issues sold from our store during all those years
But weirdly they started waning in popularity and we had to remove them from my home store's lineup. I've heard they had some rough 2018-2022 years but I really wasn't there to see it.
What I've seen in the 23-24 era seems like they got their act back together
No TV , no TV box put a max XL fan & make the COMMODE ROOM XL 😅 no walk around or pas thru I like to walk into the COMMODE ROOM . I'm on the COMMODE as I write this with Mr kitty 😂 🙋♂️💣🚽💥💥💥💥💥
i'm pretty sure i could rework this layout slightly and eliminate the slide
as fot stapled cabinets they tend to be poorly put together and prone to falling apart in a stationary environment ....... send them beebopping down the rosd and they won;t last long
1) Do they make a drop down that also swivels? If so that would be the best option.
2) One of those full pull out trays would be a nice touch in the front storage.
1.) It does exist but I've never seen one in an RV
2.) If this was a higher budget RV like a rockwood I could totally see that!
I say they keystone should supply tV for the cabinet !
Solid short outing rig! Pantry✅, good storage✅, big pass thru✅, poop and scoot access✅. Is it glampy? No, but simple convenience features that covers the bases.
Yeah for something not made for WOW OVER THE TOP level equipment I thought it was a solid, cozy couple's camper
My $12.98 (extra to cover taxes) Leave the TV box, put in a shelf and add a door to mount a tv on a mantle mount on.
Also, storage doors without struts don't matter if the doors open sideways like a door should.
taxes lol
Yay! No fireplace heater. I would opt for a longer RV with a walk around bathroom if the bathroom could have a rectangular shower the the bedroom could have a real door so the TV could go on the correct wall
TY! Solid feedback
"Cause you're friends don't dance and if they don't dance well they're, no friends of mine..."
We can go where we want to
Great layout. I’d vote to take the boxy thing off and put a swing down tv.
TY
This is great, fabulous amount of kitchen counter space, and kept the oven, I'm old fashioned so I still like an oven lol. I love the bigger dinette so it makes a proper size spare bed. Nice amount of storage in the kitchen/living space, I would prefer a sofa that has some underneath storage space, than theatre seating. I don't like floor vents, but understand why they use them, and at least they're the new ones. I love that the table is freestanding. I've been wondering about the free standing table, and how secure it is when it's in bed mode?
I'm ambivalent about TV, as I don't watch much, but I think I'd prefer the box not to be there, so I have flexibility. I think I'd prefer the cupboards over a fire place. You can always get a free standing space heater if you need one.
My youngest dog is a cocker spaniel with separation anxiety, who took down my original 1930's kitchen door, when my OH was in hospital, and he was left for an hour!
The bathroom is nice, and has a decent size shower. I'd definitely want to enclose the over head storage in the bedroom.
The only times I'd be bothered about 2 door travel access would be in really crappy weather, or in the middle of the night when I think I can hear the gas station hobo guy outside!
Hi Austin 👋, hi Justin! 👋
This looks like it has an impressive amount of room when it's open, and at least you can have somewhere to sit and eat while it's closed up.
#nerdherd #rvnerdherd
I'd prefer the telescopic ladder and keep it in the pass through lol!
TY Tanya! I was actually pretty pleased with it barring a few little things
#RVNerdHerd 🎉 😊 🎉
Please look at a keystone hideout josh!
I'm 100% willing. I see they do some cool stuff. But I don't see where we have them in our lineup strangely
I’m in the walk away from tin sides. Nice layout tho.
Check the links in the description for similar layouts from smooth-skin builders
Which ever bathroom gives me the most space because we will spend most of our time in the living room area
Walk-thru bath will accomplish that
Need to show if the plumbing is done right on these videos
Thanks for another entertaining and informative RV review, this is my all-time favorite floor plan for a travel trailer and they put the dinette in the right place, also they did a nice job at a reasonable price, I'm going to look into what kind of options or upgrades you can get, do you know offhand if it comes in a laminated version with upgraded fans in the bathroom and living kitchen area? thanks again Josh I absolutely love your RV reviews

The Indy videos rock!
BTW, is there a camper trailer that will fit in a residential garage (under 7 feet travel height), but sleeps 4, and is not a pop up? (perhaps 18 feet long)
There may be something but I'm not thinking of anything offhand
Walk around bathroom. There should be a bracket for the TV. Or Tv included
TY
No box area for tv. 40" tv that has a drip down bracket would definitely be better 😊
drop. ugh 😂
I got it ☺
Neat! Good thinking raising the walls! Is the divider in the theater seat removable? If not it’s a big minus. Couldn’t you mount the TV on the front of the box to enable a 40”
Model?
Those theater seats are modular basically. So each seat and the middle arm rest are their own sections that can be detached like legos
Yes, Josh- I’ve seen that- very smart design- just couldn’t tell through my TV. Thanks!
This is my favorite floor plan and I think Keystone does this about the best. Are new ones being built though or is it dealer stock only? I ask cause you can't find it on the Keystone website.
Weird... I don't see it on their site either. It's not even marked "Dealer stock only" but I see we're not the only ones with 2024's in stock
I'm not sure what's going on
@@JoshtheRVNerd And today it is back on Keystone's website. Thanks!
How is Carlos doing?
Smart little camper.
He's SO MUCH BETTER now! Basically 100%
@@JoshtheRVNerd So glad to hear that. Give him a pet & squeeze from Auntie Ro. 🥰
Why do manufactures insist on putting the water heaters (tankless too) at the front of the rv when the storage tanks and showers are in the middle and rear?
Available space
I watch many of your videos since I'm trying to decide which trailer I'm going to buy. Can you start to lay down in the dining room table that converts to a bed so we can see how much room there is since your about 6ft. Always wondering if an adult or 2 can sleep comfortably.
I get a lot of requests and cannot fulfill them all as it turns out. I generally try to give an idea of sizing of things where I can but working alone I'm not always able to rig up the camera just for a quick shot like that
I love the idea and if I had another set of hands, then I'd probably do it
You'll sometimes hear me call something a "True U" Dinette -- those are about 7ft long at times. Otherwise a 6ft person is probably not going to fit
@@JoshtheRVNerd ok thank you. 7ft true u dinette can fit 2 adults? Wide enough? It appears most of the dinettes that are not U's cannot sleep a 6 ft person.
I'd get the TV surround down, it just makes it look smaller. I like the drop arm mounts for TVs as a whole, but especially when watching it is going to put a cramp in my neck.
The counter space is nice!
I have a question about the slide. The one, as many do, has the fridge in the slide. But people shouldn't be in the slide when it's retracted? Does that mean this one has been tested to carry the load when retracted? If it's ok in general to have a fridge there, wouldn't that make it ok to sit in any slide, especially those from this manufacturer?
I prefer a walk-thru bathroom. It gives you more space. I don't think it would be that big of a deal if someone has to be locked out for a bit. Someone out there has the walk-thru with the toilet and sink on 1 side and the shower alone on the other side. It makes a lot more sense. Bonus points to have a door or at least a screen turning the toilet area a little more private. Plus others would be able to, well, walk thru.
I like the layout. A Dinette in the rear always makes for the best windows.
Lot of folks seem to agree on the TV cabinet space. TY
regarding the slide - MFGs account for the stuff they put into a slide
They don't account for a person they did not if that makes sense
@@JoshtheRVNerd I understand. I have to think it's a common question, for those that know to ask. I wish they checked it consistantly. It would be a good amenity note, especially for people like me 🙂
Get rid of the box or include the proper size smart tv.
I don't hate it... Surprisingly so... lol But just too cramped for what we need one for
Yeah Springdale has been surprising me lately
🎉#NerdHerd
It seems like every camper tour video I’ve seen lately, not just on this channel, the camper that’s being shown almost always has the theater seats option. So unless the camper is a bunk model it pretty much only sleeps 2 people. Very rarely have I seen travel trailers with a tri-fold sofa. There are some that do have one but it’s rare. So because of that a ton of rv’s end up being a couples camper because there’s no where else to sleep. I guess my question is if I were in the market for a camper and I go to a dealership and I see one that I want but it has theater seats and I would rather have a tri-fold sofa, how would I go about doing that? Could they remove the theater seats and put the sofa in? And if so does that usually cost anything to have that done? Or would they have to order a camper that has it? I’m just curious, I honestly don’t really know anything about this.😊
There's been a little bit of a "Climate shift" on seating in recent years. For much of my career if an RV had only one seat, then it was going to be a dinette.
Then around 2016ish I started noticing some "true couple's-only" campers showing up with a sofa instead of dinette. Often theater sofa
And with a consumer demand for more direct-facing TV setups the I am seeing theater seats dominating in popularity
There are some regional trends but theater seats are the most popular choice currently by consumers
@@JoshtheRVNerd gotcha, I really appreciate you messaging back and so glad that you explained it a little better! I see where you’re coming from!
Absolutely get rid of the TV box
TY
typo in your title, Sprindale
oh thank you!
Why oh why can’t they use white outlets on light colored surfaces? Brinkley does. Black, black and more black sticks out like a sore thumb. Basically just ugly. Nope, no excuse. I priced them retail and the cost is the same or close to it. I don’t get it.
My two cents, I like the tapered counter top by the entrance. It gives it a more open and stylish design imho.
Prefer a fireplace heater unless those drawers are also the pantry space or if kitchen storage is a problem.
Walk-through bathroom is my preference simply because it keeps the unit shorter.
Thanks Josh!
Outlets: This is a budget focused brand. Sounds crazy but two different colored outlet faces adds cost via parts management
Brinkley does those nice touches because they're not shackled by cost measures
For get the box
My opinion, ditch the TV and give it more cabinet space.
I am not a fan of tv while camping. Rainy days are for board games
A few others have said similar
So..the stapled furniture thing…we don’t agree..maybe we purchased a cheap camper…but our GULFSTREAM… was all falling apart..2019 and less than 2 yrs old and the benches seats and the dividers to the couches all came apart.
They're not all the same but I also can tell you none of them are beyond the possibility of failure
And the TV CABINET ISSUE…..it’s camping…go outside..tv is the last thing on the list…
... ummm ... why are all the men in this video wearing hats?
We get a lot of hats from MFGs, Vendors, etc. And a lot of times at shows we hand out our own hats
So you tend to see a bunch of people wearing them
@@JoshtheRVNerd sigh ... my "You can dance if you want to" reference landed with a thud
well now I feel badly I didn't catch this
tv isnt that important, so who cares if its framed
entirely too much time spent on a tiny rv.
like floor plan, would prefer the theater seat type that lifts the armrest so you can have cuddle compliance if you want
I prefer those theater seats as well. I like options. Sometimes it's nice to stretch out or sling your legs over your partner's lap
Yay for the wastebasket space!
right?!
